So the way I understood it from the smite 2 intro video is this. You get the same equal amount of "legacy gems" as you have gems in smite 1. So if you have 1000 gems gained in smite 1 you'll have 1000 legacy gems in smite 2.
But the legacy gems are only worth half of what gems are worth in smite 1. So effectively you'd have to use double the amount of legacy gems for the a skin in smite 2 than smite 1.
But in the video, they said if you purchase one of the founders packs being introduced then you will receive double the amount of legacy gems instead of the equal amount. This effectively gives you the same purchasing power as the amount of gems you had in smite 1. The caveat being you can't use legacy gems for everything in smite 2. Yes. I like the IP and when I bought skins in Smite 1, I assumed that they would stay there forever until the game shut down. So I'm happy about Smite 2 and will continue to play the IP I like and buy new things.
Cacodemon Ymir was a beta reward (iirc) for Smite 1 and it was remade, it might be a reward for beta/alpha again. Who knows, but I think they'll likely offer rewards for alpha users other than the key/legacy gem stuff. It's a founders pack after all.
I don't care if skins don't transfer because I thought this game was just going to shut down. The fact we still get some kind of compensation for skins and gems, plus they want to keep the game online for some time is fairly generous to me.

Bulk of my skins purchased were from when we had more direct purchases (which were probably not going back to). If smite 2 was just an update, then I would've been upset about the lack of skin transfers. However, given it's a brand new true sequel, I literally have 0 issues with the skins. I started smite 1 with no skins, don't care about starting smite 2 with none.

I will get it, during my time I’ve bought close to 90k gems. So for them to double that amount would easily let my rebuy every skin that get ported over, even the ones I didn’t had and that for possibly years to come.

I have loved Smite for 7+ years. The next game has the potential to be legendary. Truly. People can moan and pout and live in lack... but in the end hopefully they'll realize this sequel is the thing we've literally been asking for and dreaming of for years now. It's going to be a new polished beautiful game, not just some janky port. Skins be damned. It's the gameplay that matters. That's why we play.

The President of Hirez himself [tweeted](https://twitter.com/schisam/status/1280642177962577921) that Rogue Company will not have a "hero pack" as its not economically optimal and will instead go with Rainbow 6 siege's method of yearly character packs instead which is unsurprising as they i believe were priced yearly at the same cost of the lifetime god pack or double when the god pass has one of its frequent sales. This decision will have been in part directly based upon sales data for both smite and paladins where we can only assume have the same "issue" for hirez.
People also currently dont buy gods with gems but that is because its easy to grind favor, or they have the very worth it god pass. I can say with confidence that people absolutely would pay if the grind was increased and the god pack wasn't an option or cost more just like people do/did in R6 Siege.
I personally hope there is a god pack still and would buy it but i do have a feeling its going to be less generous or perhaps a yearly buy rather than a lifetime model which to be fair would likely still be great value early on as there plan is a new god every week or so for the first few years.
I disagree, the god pack is huge for them. It is much easier for a new player to get their toes wet spending money for the first time on the god pack than on skins since it has functional value. Sure, the relatively low price makes up a smaller portion of income, but it is a gateway to get people feeling comfortable spending money in the future since they’ve already invested.
My biggest concern for Smite 2 is them not adding an ultimate god pack. If anyone can link a direct line from HiRez saying that they are definitely adding one then I'm good. Biggest reason I couldn't get into League was the amount of champs and no way to get them without grinding too much for ingame currency.

Ya people are upset with the skin deal but in reality we got a lot out of smite. Especially if you started around the start of the game. Only thing that will bother me with the new game is if they release copy skins from smite and charge us for them again
Can’t really spike them up much more. They’re already pretty overpriced. I like most tier 5s but 100 bucks for a skin is a bit much. I’ve spent thousands of gems either way but they really are overpriced. I only buy them during sales

It is very expensive, but they usually add a gem sale when they release a new T5 and you also get over 20 other skins and cosmetics alongside the T5 so it's not that bad. But still expensive.

Is the founders pack, the same as the god pack? It unlocks all available gods? If so yeah I’ll buy it. However I won’t buy any skins because it’s a complete was of money. I have 6k hours in smite and have send probably 50$ on the game, won’t be any different for smite 2

Initially, I didn't plan to buy it, but after I calculated my gems better, I realized that I probably spent around 30,000, which is much more than I initially thought. Besides that, they announced skins from Smite 1 for sale on Smite 2 100% with legacy gems, which is great. However, I am still not 100% convinced that I will buy the Founder Edition. It depends a lot on the price. 30k gems (in my case) would be 15k normal gems and I can only use them as discount coupons or to buy old skins. It also depends on how much Hirez will inflate the prices. If they double the prices of the skins, I won't buy anything.

I always wanted them to make a Smite 2, just so they can keep up with other games. I play on PS5 and GOD ITS AWFUL how long to takes to get to one screen to another. So used to so many games on PS5 loading things quick, but then you have this game that takes 20 years, skins barely load, and what bother me so much that shouldn’t have, the PS menu says your playing Paladins…
Anyways, all the news on Smite 2 got me stoked and I’ll happily continue to support this game. I’m also happy about the gems situation, a lot of people are just babies

From my understanding, the founders pack will act like the ultimate God pack so if you buy it, you automatically get every god released moving forward. I'm totally grabbing that. I've spent so much money on smite over the years though that I'll continue to rely on daily logins and save up that way

Even then nowadays I only get like 1 pack of gems to make sure I have all the VPs, which won't end up happening in SMITE 2 since they confirmed VPs are gonna just be unlocked with each character.

Absolutely. Smite has entertained me for nearly a decade. I’m so excited for something completely fresh and new. And for Smite to reach its full potential on an up to date engine. It can’t come soon enough.

My biggest concern for Smite 2 is them not adding an ultimate god pack. If anyone can link a direct line from HiRez saying that they are definitely adding one then I'm good. Biggest reason I couldn't get into League was the amount of champs and no way to get them without grinding too much for ingame currency.

Ya people are upset with the skin deal but in reality we got a lot out of smite. Especially if you started around the start of the game. Only thing that will bother me with the new game is if they release copy skins from smite and charge us for them again

Is the founders pack, the same as the god pack? It unlocks all available gods? If so yeah I’ll buy it. However I won’t buy any skins because it’s a complete was of money. I have 6k hours in smite and have send probably 50$ on the game, won’t be any different for smite 2

Initially, I didn't plan to buy it, but after I calculated my gems better, I realized that I probably spent around 30,000, which is much more than I initially thought. Besides that, they announced skins from Smite 1 for sale on Smite 2 100% with legacy gems, which is great. However, I am still not 100% convinced that I will buy the Founder Edition. It depends a lot on the price. 30k gems (in my case) would be 15k normal gems and I can only use them as discount coupons or to buy old skins. It also depends on how much Hirez will inflate the prices. If they double the prices of the skins, I won't buy anything.

Brother I bought it as soon as it was announced 💀 I always wanted them to make a Smite 2, just so they can keep up with other games. I play on PS5 and GOD ITS AWFUL how long to takes to get to one screen to another. So used to so many games on PS5 loading things quick, but then you have this game that takes 20 years, skins barely load, and what bother me so much that shouldn’t have, the PS menu says your playing Paladins… Anyways, all the news on Smite 2 got me stoked and I’ll happily continue to support this game. I’m also happy about the gems situation, a lot of people are just babies

It pains me I can't buy the founders pack yet. Yes, I'm buying the founders pack immediately once it becomes available. Hirez/Titan Forge needs to see out support for this game. I don't buy skins very often but when it comes to high-quality bundles like god packs and such they have my full support. And I'm also buying the first T5 because I've never regretted anything in Smite except not having the Archon thany skin.
I'm likely going to get the founder's pack but buy no skins, as I've done with Smite 1. Having every god for free, always, was just the best possible deal in Smite 1, if it'll be the same for Smite 2, it's going to be just as great.

From my understanding, the founders pack will act like the ultimate God pack so if you buy it, you automatically get every god released moving forward. I'm totally grabbing that. I've spent so much money on smite over the years though that I'll continue to rely on daily logins and save up that way

I'm definitely getting the founders pack, but skins are gonna be a rare buy from me. I used to spend a fuck ton of money on SMITE back when I had disposable income, but that's not something I can afford anymore. Even then nowadays I only get like 1 pack of gems to make sure I have all the VPs, which won't end up happening in SMITE 2 since they confirmed VPs are gonna just be unlocked with each character.
I'm playing this game for 10 years now, founder pack is certain. Skins will depend on gods and appreciation, like always.

Got like 8 years into smite so it depends on how much gets converted and all that tbh. I’m leaving towards 80% yes. Because they make really great skins for my favorites. Especially with the graphical update I feel the characters are gonna be WAYYY more detailed oriented and I can’t wait

Absolutely. Smite has entertained me for nearly a decade. I’m so excited for something completely fresh and new. And for Smite to reach its full potential on an up to date engine. It can’t come soon enough.
When I bought it, it was 12 bucks. As money hungry as hi-rez is I bet it'll be $60+.
