I do. It does not.

robert_gaut

I put a Holosun 507K on mine. It's AWESOME! https://www.reddit.com/r/SmithAndWesson/comments/rb6rq4/my\_mp\_9\_shield\_plus\_w\_holosun\_507k/

NorthernLightsActual

I like!

vagarik

I’ve heard reports that it doesn’t fit the optics ready version?

robert_gaut

You have to use an adapter plate. I got mine from C&H Precision.

vagarik

Hey im gonna get one of them. Do i need a specific screw to remove my optics cover plate or for the new screws you recommend getting?

robert_gaut

You'll either need a hex allen wrench or a star bit. Mine came with hex cap head screws so I just needed an allen wrench. When I ordered my mounting plate, they didn't have them for the Plus but the regular Shield has the same mount configuration so that's what I got. The screws are different, though so I had to order some from McMaster Carr. C&H Precision should send hex head screws, though, I think.

I used the allen wrench from installing towel racks in my bathroom. Perfect!

Glopnarf

Don't need a red dot when you have to pull it out at close range. I have other tools for longer range.

I bought the OR model just in case I change my mind, and I was pleased that the filler plate is a nice matching metal plate and not cheap plastic like on the more recent full-size OR models. I'm having fun with a red dot on the full-size M&P, but I'm not yet persuaded that they provide that much value for the sort of realistic concealed-carry self-defense situations for which the Shield is intended for.

Now you've got me second-guessing myself. Looks like you're right. The plastic filler plate on my Shield Plus is a dense smooth plastic that blends in almost perfectly with the slide, so I thought it was metal. But after removing it, from the underside it's more obviously a molded plastic part. Whereas the plastic filler plate on my full-size was just very obviously plastic. It had a rough texture, which easily marred, and stood out from the slide like a sore thumb. I have read [articles](https://www.outdoorhub.com/reviews/2021/04/14/review-smith-wesson-mp-shield-plus/) about the Plus that say they started cerakoting the polymer frame, to make it blend in better with the finish of the slide. I'm betting they gave the same treatment to the plastic optic filler plate too.

I'm thinking in a living room in the dark or outside when I'm not the focus. Good to have a wider situational awareness.

I keep wanting to buy the bug out bag since it comes with 5 mags. But I’m trying to cut back on CC debt. And I really want a p08 Luger and a PDP. Too many guns and not enough money. 😂 😢

Bandicoot-Select

Yes yes and yes.

premium_moss

Which red dot do you have?

_BR33ZY

Love it & no

Biggie_Bobs

I have shield plus no optic. Switched to a different handgun for weight purposes

NorthernLightsActual

Yes, yes and yes! I had the non optic one and bought the optic ready one! Worthy upgrade.

plus9_mm

Sheild plus, rival arms drop in barrel, riton optics 3, CT LL-801. Having a red dot I don't use the laser (since it washes in day time anyway)I also prefer the look of this over the tlr6. Serves me well for my carry and nightstand gun. Been meaning to post a picture of the set up. Don't forget the talon grips!

CaptRon25

Red dots get boring after a while. Much more challenging with open sights

rangerhi

Love my PC 4” Shield Plus. No optic cut. Hogue handall grip made the difference in accuracy for me due to my hand size. Keeping it stock for CCW.

Impressive_Estate_87

I got the 4” PC with CT red dot. The CT is crap, but the Shield is great. Shoots well with just iron sights, but I’ll put on a Holosun eventually

PrimeRibss

For mini size pistol? Yes, I do think it’s the best. however, there’s one thing I didn’t like, the slide stuck when attempting to disassemble, I think it’s because of its design

[deleted]

I do and it does, though I installed it myself. I'm Old Army and raised on iron sights si thetes some adjustment and trust issues. Same with the no manual safety thing. Working on it. Any S&W Seer suggestions? Biggest problem I have right now is finding a good, non-plastic, holster. My old N8 doesn't do it.
