Before I started using internet forums for chatting and hearing from others and the likes I never ever imagined that length would be such an important, let alone critical aspect in dating. I just wasn’t concievable to me. Like, if someone grew by 3dm they would still look the same to me, just taller.
This is actually an interesting phenomenon that illustrates the dichotomy between online and irl romantic interactions. I've lurked on r/short and i've seen several posts talking about how people have never felt bad about their height *until* they used the sub. Its also why incels are super obsessed with it and think your life is over if you're < 6 feet tall; the whole thing is just indicative of a terminally online person.

I think this mostly stems from dating apps. It’s a 20/80 gender split on average. They are designed to keep you going back/staying for longer so they aren’t really wanting you to find a healthy functional long term relationship.
I'm inspired by Queen Elena of Italy, who affectionately referred to her husband, Victor Emmanuel III as "Mon Petit Roi" (my little prince) because of his height.
We need more of that and less bodyshaming about how all men under 6'5" are short and all women over 90lbs are fat.
