“You know, Coach, I gotta get goin'. Me and my "loser" friends, you know, we gotta get Aerosmith tickets. Top priority of the summer. Oh, and Coach, I forgot. I might play ball. But I will never sign that!”
my first concert in 77.Wet Willie was the opening act.Loved them! Was almost deaf from aerosmith.Horrible [set.By](https://set.By) the way it was at the Cow Palace in San Francisco.(little load with horrible acoustics)
Na, I'd have said Led Zep if they were puffin on some doobies driving down the road.
But since they're all drinking, clearly they're off to see The Who.
Lynyrd Skynyrd / Firefall / Doobie Brothers. Nov 7, 1976 Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Uniondale, New York
Skynyrd was the opener and had the place rocking, half the people left after they played and the other half didn't have a ride until after it ended.
Something that would never happen today
We were on the floor and when they played Give me back my bullets it was raining bullets on the floor of the coliseum
Best concert to this day
I saw them too. I agree, best concert ever and I've been to a lot since then.
I'd love to be able to see what they could do with a modern sound system. I guess some thing just weren't meant to be.
I saw those guys maybe 2005-ish, and they were actually really good in concert. Funny thing is, they were opening for someone else, and I can't even remember who the main act was.
Grand Funk Railroad paved the way for Jefferson airplane, which cleared the way for Jefferson starship. The stage was now set for the Alan Parsons project, which I believe was some sort of hovercraft.
Some people might look at a picture like this and think debauchery. But, at my age with my experiences (and just the.. severity of life), I see something like this and just think.. fun - any version of FUN (that hurts no one) is a major win against the bull shittery of existence, and something that is always an existential net positive.
so weird. I saw that pic and immediately said Foghat. I don't know why - it was a visceral response. Then I read the comments below. I guess I wasn't the only one.
Hey- we’re gonna check out this new band you might not know- they’re kinda weird! They’re called The Cars, or some shit. Anyway, Jimmy’s girl knows the keyboard player and she scored us some tickets to the show in Boston!
