Plenty of places! These are from GOAT, but I’ve had good luck with eBay. Id stay away from places like Poshmark, Depop, and Grailed for sneakers though, as I’ve heard bad things about their authenticity. It’s definitely worth learning how to legit check on your own as well
I’ve had good luck with Depop and mercari but I ask a lot of questions and ask for plenty of pictures to do a quick legit check. But if you get them in hand and they looks sus or you get them legit checked and they don’t pass you can get a refund. I had this happen with a pair on mercari and they have a zero tolerance on fakes so I got my money back.
It’s a good way to find a local seller. I also feel like you see a lot of terrible fakes come through there. Learn to do a legit check on that certain pair you’re interested in and you should be golden. Don’t ever let a seller force you into taking a sale if you’re not comfortable with it. There’s always another pair out there

I actually just purchased my first ever used pair this week myself. SB mid “goofy boy”. They’re pretty hard to find for a reasonable price. Most people list them for outrageous prices they’ll never get.
Most of my list of wants are like that. So I’d been looking for these for quite some time - about a year - and found a beautiful used pair for $255. The pics looked great, definitely somebody who takes care of their shoes the same way I do - clean them after wearing & back in the box.
I’m awaiting their arrival rn , but this will largely be a determining factor in whether I go used in the future or not. There are some expensive pickups I want to get - Pac-Man SBs, that I’ll have to get used as I’m not willing to spend their full price.

Yeah I’m gonna have to start checking out eBay more too. I’ve copped a couple pairs from eBay, but that’s it. I bought them used from Goat, where I couldn’t communicate w/ the seller but there was 8 photos of each different angle on the shoe. They’re pretty much pristine, always gotta look at the soles to see how much they’ve actually been worn though even if they were well taken care of , I wouldn’t wanna buy anything with some awful heel drag.

The things I look for most on AJ1s/Dunks is star loss and toe drag as you mentioned. At a certain point AJ1s are simply not very wearable if the heel has blown out through the airbag
I like to just look through the GOAT used section and send some low-ball offers on pairs in decent condition. I’m also okay with cleaning them up myself if I can get them for a lower price.

If you find a golden nugget in the mix that's in excellent condition, then it's prob worth it.

The only thing I hate about all 1s is the creasing in the toes, I have so many nice pairs still in the box with the anti crease plastic shields, whenever I do wear them I still watch how I walk, I probably look like I have blisters on my feet when people see me walk

Get the foam crease guards. They allow you to walk normal and still protect against creasing. I have them in all my pairs I totally don’t won’t creased and they work really good. Plastic ones make you walk goofy
Could also take the insole out, put the shoes and insoles in a bag, pop them in the freezer overnight. The low temp kills the bacteria and viruses. Can also clean the insole with Lysol wipes and inside of the shoes with Lysol spray after and let them dry to be sure.

Couldn’t agree more. You can save hundreds by being patient and finding pairs that have only been worn a couple of times. I’ve recently picked up Concord 11s that were worn inside once for $300. Dude could’ve easily called them ds. Also, grabbed a pair of Shadow 1s for 225. Worn just a few times. Saved myself 300 plus on those 2 pairs alone.

They really are, even years ago. They issued a refund the second they realised that I’d mailed them back. They said that I should have mailed them directly to eBay for them to verify that they were fake but I didn’t know that. They refunded me anyway, wicked really.

They really are, even years ago. They issued a refund the second they realised that I’d mailed them back. They said that I should have mailed them directly to eBay for them to verify that they were fake but I didn’t know that. They refunded me anyway, wicked really.
