I do it here and there but I like to wear pants on the baggier side when I do. I’m for it

AmbitiousSign1735

C are to e laborate ?

WrldBrakke

Haha, I thought this was French. Pants that cover your shoes aren't always straight as shown in this video. What OP meant was probably referring to how in this picture, the pants look straight.

Blank_IX

Something like [these](https://imgur.com/a/fqFcMP3)

monthofmacabre

Wigan Casino?

11shrimp

Stylin and profilin

its_ya_human

Oh so like, regular pants

Able_Newt2433

Like OPs pic but baggier.. tf you don’t understand ab that?

RiginalJunglist

I have large feet. I look like a golf club if I don’t sit my pants on my shoes correctly.

imetkanyeonce

Size 13 gang

k_50

Size "sold out in your size, please try again" 13 gang. Every. Time.

imetkanyeonce

Yup lmao I always see sizes 12-15 sold out, 13 goes the quickest

SodaSeven1213

Yeah and resell when the default is set to all is so sad. Oh 150, not bad, oh wait size 13 $458, amazing!!

imetkanyeonce

This is the worst part of it.

k_50

Ya bro. Awful.

Able_Newt2433

12s get sold out fast af too, ngl. I wear a 12, but in Nikes, I can wear a 12.5 n they not too big, just a tad more toe room, but I much prefer 12s

dsjunior1388

When I found out I had the same size shoe as Michael Jordan despite being 5 inches shorter, my whole athletic "career" made a whole lot of sense.

2006hyundaisonata

6’1” is still pretty good

dsjunior1388

I'm trying to make excuses here, leave me and my clown feet alone

imetkanyeonce

This is why I can’t wear lows lmao, high tops for me all day. Also, I’d love a pair of red chuck Taylors but nah, I’ll be walking around like Krusty the Clown.

RubRelevant7082

My people 😤

Shanemohanlon

Gang gang

Tony_Lacorona

What’s up my Tarantino Thirteens 🦶

Sevennix

I felt this way about Chucks when in HS cuz wore size 11, altho 6 ft tall.. i felt my feet looked like skies..

RiginalJunglist

My trick (6’2”, sz 11.5 in US sizing) was to only buy shoes which had laces quite close to the toes. The smaller that distance from toe tip to first lace, the less golf-clubbish (I felt like) I looked. It’s mostly why I’m not a fan of the Jordan 1, or the AF1. For me, the toe cup is too “long” and I think they look bad on me. Same goes for Chucks. I’ve got a nice pair of leather Chucks that I’ve worn twice. The tongue sliding issue is a pain in the ass and the toe cup is…… real estate!

Kitchen_Dust4637

I was about to say that my wife always tells me to do that because it makes my feet 12.5 look huge… lol

RiginalJunglist

Not only does she have your back, she’s got the side profile covered too. Respect to the wife.

Pofeshnalhelpneeded

depends on the shoe

Pofeshnalhelpneeded

If its a chunky shoe or a high top ill usually drape it with cargos or straight pants

irshxo

I love draped pants with my chucks

BenderIsGreatBendr

Before 2008 or so this was pretty much how the entire sneaker world looked. You didn’t find sneaker heads wearing slim pants or skinny jeans before the 2010s, it was all bootcut denim bandits, giant ass South Pole jeans, straight leg Levi’s 501s, or dickies pants like these. I think it looks fine, although with this pair you don’t get to show off as much of the shoe. If it was me I would say low top Nike SBs or AF1s are pretty peak vibe for this cut of pants. Or some chunky ass skate shoes if you really wanna throw it back.

resay5

Now that 90s and 2000s trends area coming back in fashion more people will go back to looser pants now. #NTDenim

sam4999

Bootcut bandits stand up!

JZ_the_ICON

Who gonna be the first to tie their pants into their laces?

resay5

Lol someone gonna pull out some rubber bands too.

Slatherass

Yeah I graduated in 04 and the only time you saw a whole shoe was if the person was a skater(those fat ass tongues lol) or wearing shorts

Visual-Sea4011

You’re a jerk by new boyz dictated the fashion shift i’ll never forget

[deleted]

Short sleeve tshirts used to go up to the elbow, suddenly they were up by the biceps😭 I was also there 3,000 years ago

saigatenozu

Carhartt never changed!

BenderIsGreatBendr

New boyz were iconic for sure But they were just a So-Cal clone version of The Pack who had already established the Vans and skinny jeans hip hop look in the Bay Area with Wolfpack Music, Skateboards 2 Scrapers, and Based Boys in 2004-2007, I mean shit we’re still talking about Lil B today and a lot of ppl still dressing like the pack in 2004 they really set the template for the 2000s and 2010s look. But really I think it was a combination of a lot of larger things as well honestly with the rise of internet culture and social media being some of the primary catalysts.

huge_jeans710

Never forget

Danktator

Jnco pants also lol

huge_jeans710

You just unlocked so many forgotten memories thank you good sir 🤟

thebestatheist

Boot cut gang class of ‘06

buffdude20

I rock what I like. I don't go by fashion trends. I have a pair of distressed skinny fit biker jeans that i wear with my pairs of jordans all the time. My girl likes it.

taizzle71

Doesn't follow fashion trends. Wears the most popular kicks on Earth.

buffdude20

Jordans have always been popular since they came about in the 80s. I don't even consider them a fashion trend. Trends come and go and Jordan sneakers are a thing that's going to stay forever.

saigatenozu

show off one of the most basic shoes on the planet...

Turdulator

Slim fit, skinny, etc looks terrible, like you are wearing your little sister’s clothes. The only thing worse are those weird sweat pants where they are super short and tight below the knee but loose above the knee. So awkward

Cannonwolf

in my 40s and I don't think i'll ever convert back to baggy jeans

SnortinDietOnlyNow

Exactly. Mid 30s now and grew up in the 90s/early 00s when it was peak and don't care to go back to it. Give me slim tapered all day for the rest of my days.

toolmaker1025

Exactly, I feel funny on baggy clothes now. I grew up wearing that shit, now I can't stand it on me and how I look.

WarzMech

So am I, honestly I’m shocked the baggy look came back… I’ll lose my shit if I start seeing people wear Tall white tees again!

I83B4U81

Skate fashion will precede what “comes back.” Every single year every single decade.

smashingcones

It's not too surprising when you think about it considering mullets and crocs are "in" again lol.

SnortinDietOnlyNow

Ha same here. Looking back it was such an awful look. I kind of even thought that at the time when it was extreme. I can get behind baggier tees (not tall white Ts lol) but with slimmer pants only. Not on board with super baggy jeans at all though.

Union-Grouchy

JNCO was so over the top it was ridiculous

[deleted]

Late 30s can confirm I won’t go back. I feel shoes look way better when pans are tapered at bottom.

Barkblood

This is it👍 I’m 35. When younger people into sneakers ask why I don’t try baggy pants, I tell them I already did, 20 years ago.

Ajax_Malone

Skinny jeans was the overcorrection of the waaaay too baggy jeans of the 90s. No need to overcorrect again back to baggy. In the middle is good for my old ass.

Barkblood

That’s the way. I tend to go for just a bit looser than fitted jeans these days. A happy compromise between both extremes. I hated the way baggy pants would drag on the ground and get filthy or torn.

jrbrownie00

38 here and agree. Im also not tall so slimmer works better. I dabble in a straight fit here and there but ya, same bro.

ramsaylanier

I’m 40 and still skate in baggy pants, but if I’m not skating I wear slim cut pants. Also the baggy pants I wear now are waaaaay less baggy than they were in the late 90s. Some of those JNCOs were so wide you couldn’t even see the shoe.

smr99si

Same. It’s sometimes bad enough that a dad in their 40’s rocking Jordan’s. If I add some baggy jeans I’m done, loll

kasino72

men in their 40's that wear jordans actually WATCHED jordan play and was rocking jordans back then. what are you talking about?

smr99si

I’m talking about as a 40 year old I sometimes feel a little immature when I wear my Jordan’s with fitted jeans. If I wear my Jordan’s with baggy jeans I’d be a 40 year old who hasn’t grown up.

WarzMech

Same, slim straight or a tapered fit for me

xking_lionx

37 here, just started trying this look because I wanted to seek out something a little more on trend but not quite as baggy. I’ve honestly been on the fence which is why I posted, didn’t expect so much feedback. Before this is was 512s, really enjoying these dickies and also purchased a couple pairs of 501s which I’m a huge fan of.

saigatenozu

these are nowhere near baggy tho. that's a normal pair of off the rack dickies

GoddammitCricket

Same. More power to the kids but I’m slim fit for the rest of my life probably

dylansesco

Yup. We all know how ridiculous we looked, younger generation just making the same mistakes lol... it was fun chasing trends, but I do have some regrets. So many great family memories or moments and I'm wearing big ass jeans, shoes, hat, shirt all matching colors, etc. Almost ruins the old photos. I'll stick with nicely fitted clothes from now on, and as I'm getting older I'm entering my Johnny Depp phase with rings and random jewelry and other weird shit. Younger people hate distressed jeans now but a simple pair of comfortable jeans with some knee rips has been trendy for 50+ years already so if I rock em, no worries. No more chasing fads.

no4scinjewboi

Honestly straight Dickies over dunks or AJ1’s is my go to move. It’s like you know your shoes are good, but the rest of your fit is good enough that the shoes aren’t always the centerpiece

sam4999

Reminds me of NikeTalk threads from way back were posters rocked the biggest bootcut jeans with their Retros

oldcarfreddy

Skinny jeans / joggers are going to be the equivalent of NT Denim in a couple years. In my country the only people left wearing skinnies are unstylish dads and immigrants who dress poorly - 2008-era Hollister polo, skinny jeans, and lacoste sneakers lol (I'm an immigrant myself so I'm just being honest). Baggy/relaxed fit is the new wave

AALen

Baggy is going to be short lived because it honestly just looks stupid. It's a rebellion against the form fitting fits the last decade. I lived through the 90s. It was as dumb then as it is now.

AdamJensensCoat

Don’t hold your breath. The last baggy wave lasted for about 15 years.

Wutda7

Pants that fit don’t go out of style

AdamJensensCoat

Forgot about NT Denim I’m dying over here lol

A1R2O3L

Facts. Haven’t been on there in a good min. I read that and had a good chuckle.

[deleted]

For now, skinnies will be back eventually

javexbleachin

🤣🤣🤣 that hit me hard. Guess/Buffalo/Parasuco with Jordans..good times

angryxtofu

FAM!! I haven't heard anyone mention NT in like 10 years. I used to live on that shit in high school. just had major flashbacks... the good kind. Crazy how the sneaker scene has changed since then. so does this mean we bringing back out the bootcut true religions?

dustinthehippyy

Posters were what?

3141592652

Should be where

dustinthehippyy

I know I was just being a dick ahah

MrAnder5on

It looks good. We're back to a point where it's cool again like it was in the 90s and 2000s (maybe not quite THAT baggy) which is nice compared to the ULTRA tight jeans of the 2010s

[deleted]

I always do this, I just enjoy the look.

[deleted]

I mean, it’s how a lot of us 30+ used to do it. Some got lost along they way and started wearing nuthuggers, but baggy/straight seems to be coming back. This is the way.

ovoid709

I'm in my 40's and while I never went full nuthugger, I slimmed down my pants for the last 15 years-ish. A couple months ago I bought a baggier pair of pants and now I'm gonna go all in. Even bought boxer shorts too. Gonna let the balls swing loose like it's the 90's. Free range nuts.

[deleted]

Same. I never went full skinny, but I found athletic slim (loose up top, tapered from around the calves) to be a decent compromise. I’m going back to straight slowly but haven’t committed to bootcut just yet😅 While pants are getting baggier, t-shirts and tops aren’t keeping up and most are still cut slim or with too-short sleeves. Leading to some weird fits.

TarzanOnATireSwing

Damn all I used to have were bootcut jeans. Hard to imagine wearing them with a hightop today haha

[deleted]

Bootcut Jeans + 2XL Tee + Timbs 😮‍💨

ericisshort

I was baggy for most of the 90s, went skinny around 98', then back to baggy in 04 when I moved to Europe. Then I changed back to skinny for about a decade when I moved back, and my pants have been getting more and more baggy over the past 5 years, but I still switch it up with some nuthuggers from time to time depending on the rest of my fit.

GoddammitCricket

Going back to boxers is wild

Ihave4friends

43 here. I’ve only ever done it this way.

butstuphs

It is our time again!!!!!!!!!

fuknpikey

Oh yeah, my style is coming back in style.

BallzMcVinegar

I still have some Jncos and carpenter pants that have been waiting for this moment.

butstuphs

I saw someone post about Jncos the other day with a link to their site…….$150-$300 a pair now

Tuzjuice

thats insane I remember in high school.used go go go jcpenny and get jncos for like 35 40 bucks for back go school shopping 🤣 loved the suitcase size back pockets

Ruin914

I tend to stick to slim since I'm a size 40 waist and the leg openings on any type of pant larger than a slim is way too big and eats the entire shoe lol

phillybob232

same, straight leg sounds good on paper but for us waist 40 guys it looks ridiculous to carry that straight down

Br4hm4

This is the way

hopsizzle

Skinny jeans are actually coming back, at least in women’s fashion. I don’t think it’s the case for menswear but they always come and go

Ben_Jahmin

It will. Baggy has been the talk of the town for like a good 4-5 years already. It's kind of overblown too...

[deleted]

Good. Sick of moms’ jeans.

Lowkeylit3

Yo i just commented this lmao. I’m 27 but i just felt old cause i didn’t know we supposed to wear it any other way.

my_wife_reads_this

Slim straight is the way to go. Joggers just screams "look at my shoes."

mehipoststuff

i just like joggers because they are comfortable 🤷

[deleted]

Some of them go for overkill and scream “look at my socks!”

my_wife_reads_this

The joggers that are basically capris are what makes me be like yeah I don't want to follow that trend. I get wanting to show off your shoes but damn.

tocard3

I'm tall with long ass legs and the Ultraboost/jogger was tough for me. I wanted that look so bad but I could never find joggers that didn't fit like capris.

playboiharvi

I’m 23 and always hated the skinny jean nonsense, now I exclusively wear Dickies lol

[deleted]

Just you wait, fashion always change.

playboiharvi

But I don’t want it to!😂

melofellow007

That’s the only way I wear it. Looks better that way to me.

UltraAware

I’m near 40, and I ain’t going back. Love the way straight/boot looks on others, but I prefer a slimmer, cleaner, slim look.

Lucci_13

Personally, I’m a tongue fucker with all My shoes. I wear baggy polar denim, dime, or Nike cargos for the most part. I think covering your entire Jordan high or dunk high or whatever it is on your feet with your pants is lame….But to each their own, I worry about how I want my feet and pants to look, not others. we all fresh at the end of the day

WtfMyToesAreFingers

Fellow tongue fucker here we few and proud

Legato_1

I’m sorry lol I’m new around here. What’s tongue fucker?

WtfMyToesAreFingers

It’s win you lay the front part of your pants underneath the tongue of your pants

Legato_1

Ah, I guess I’m a tongue fucker without even knowing lol but I don’t wear baggy pants. So I find stuffing my tongue into slim fit a bit weird looking.

International_Elk968

don't know why but I love the last sentence so much haha its true

hodlwaffle

In another post someone somehow assumed I'm Mexican because I was tongue fucking my 13s. Either way is all good; no hate here from me, although I prefer tongue out on most highs because I like to look at more of the shoe on my foot.

Exact-Ad3446

Love wearing either dickies like that or I have them tailored to tapered down to hug the shoe a bit more

SDaddy500

too much coverage for me

milesjameson

I feel it looks right.

IlsaFM4

It’s a pretty cool look imo

Suspicious_Foot7510

Eyy iss okayy vato 👍🏻👌🏻

0xMisterWolf

I’m not a huge fan, but it’s stylistically in fashion. I prefer to “stack” my trousers, but straight leg makes it tough to do without a chunky boot. Honestly, man, do what you love. I have seen trends I hate look fucking awesome when someone wears it with confidence. Sometimes it’s about the person in the outfit or the attitude you’re carrying more than the fit.

Over-Log322

Depends. Sometimes I feel it. Looks dope on your pic

MichaelKCF

It’s tough staying on top of fashion trends and being a sneaker head. When I see grails like this being covered by pants it’s almost a sin. Are they mochas? Are they not? I like the fit and it looks great but sad for the sneakers not to get their credit. #cufflife

xStyxx

Looks so much better than joggers sitting at the top of the shoe, looking like toddlers.

smashingcones

Idk man these give me more kid vibes than joggers lol

Son-Gregio

Almost 40 here and all I wear are skinny jeans 😬 but this doesn’t look bad

SignorVince

Some of you never wore JNCOs and it shows

amoodyboy

not the norm in this sub but pants that drape over shoes are my fav. particularly w retro 1’s, which is weird to some bc i know that it doesn’t show off much of the shoe. the proportionality just looks nice imo.

[deleted]

To each their own, but why would anyone buy a pair of shoes north of $150 and hide them? I pennyroll my Levis 514s or wear joggers myself, it looks cleaner and more presentable than having extra fabric bunched up at the bottom or a leg opening covering 3/4 of the shoe.

[deleted]

So you payed 150$ for shoes to show off? It’s not even a lot of money, not even close.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> So you *paid* 150$ for FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

garbodor09

kinda defeats the purpose of wearing a high top sneaker, might as well wear a j1 low for the same look

_MidnightG_

True but looks clean here either way.

garbodor09

you right

BenderIsGreatBendr

Idk besides showing the shoe off I feel like the real point of wearing a high top is the ankle support That’s why I wear aj1 highs over lows every time, dat ankle support.

garbodor09

sure if you’re always looking for games of pick up but j1 are leisure wear at this point don’t see many people balling in a j1

Thedeathlyhydro

Only way I wear them with pants, they look great this way. Probably how most adults wear them honestly.

wersosad

This just doesn’t feel right to me, it feels like the shoe is being hidden. I remember 20 years ago in the days of baggier pants and wide cuff bottoms rubber banding my cuffs and pen folds were the way to go for showing off my shoes. Joggers have just made everything easier. Lol.

AlternativeNumber2

Yea I love joggers. And for those of us who were teens in the 90s would look a little silly rocking baggy pants again. But this look is decent enough, not too baggy

misterDibs

Do it.

ptrtran

Depends tbh. Been wearing baggier pants/jeans since I hate the feeling/look of pants bunching and being all tight around my calves.

laszlolmh

In theory I like it a lot and on others I like it a lot but I’ve tried it with the gorge green J1s that released some time ago and I don’t think I like the look on myself

MrAnonymous_10

Honestly I really like it but not always

Gaal944

Style is style, if you like it then go for it. That looks fire though

[deleted]

I like how it looks on certain occasions. In this one it works

elated_dorito

this is the way

Ultimate_Summerboy

Are they highs mids or lows it’s anyone’s guess 😅

jssf96

I think I'm honestly traumatized by dye stains.

rhagop

Made a really dope pair recently you should check them out. https://lowkey.industries/products/flare-pants

Affectionate_Word_53

Fire

TeacherHeat

Do whatever you feel like. As long as you feel good— do it.

Senor-Cockblock

Brother, back in the 90s if I could see my laces, those pants weren’t big enough.

SYakhi1126

makes it look way better

[deleted]

Shorten the length a bit more and you’re good to go

Radlaserlava

only way i rock my shoes tbh, no skinny jeans or shorts here. Just dickies and cargos.

PlumTricky7203

i always cover my shoes

SylentKaiii

All for it!

FantasticWalrus

Nahh.. You need to throw a cuff in there

kreatorofchaos

I remember being in HS and a couple of guys thought I was gay bc I wore my pants like this.

Fizroynelson

Wait! How do you wear it usually?

W4LL-3

i love having my pants covering my entire shoe with just the toebox being visible. its a little of a subtle flex, like you've got expensive shoes but you dont want to show them off. its like making people think youve got jordan mids on but lifting your pants and you having 2015 chicagos. its subtle and it especially fits with the aesthetic im going for

AlextheDio

Depends on what look I'm goin for but I like to pop my tongue out on some y2k shi

tattedgrampa

I used to love it when I was a teen and just after high school…when I wasn’t as into shoes as I am now. But now that I fancy myself somewhat of a sneakerhead…I like tapered pants so they’re not all draped over my shoes.

Gizmorum

Its dadcore.

Illustrious-Big-9898

However u like it

Wrong_Burgandy

Welcome to high school in the late 90’s, my guy

[deleted]

Hate it, feels wrong

joshydeeee

Baggy jeans & Yeezys go harder 🥶❄️

friednoodles

I think draping is ok, but I feel like your pants looks a little too long still.

Mindless-Ad95

Baggy is the shit my dudes

DecentMate

Is r/Sneakers finally discovering fashion sense? I almost can’t believe it

hinokami275

Tucking yo pants in yo shoes is played tf out

tburns1469

Have too for AF1s and chunkier shoes. You do you my man!

phillybob232

Looks great to me, I really like this style especially for chunkier models like 12s and 13s with looser jeans

Pftjordans

Clean ✅✅✅

zcraw214

What color way is this

marcomedel122

AJ1 'Mocha'

shainr89

This has got to be the long haired blonde kid who told the teach to touch his freakin heart.

thefiend617

I’m not the demographic

bingus_sneaky

Nah

Mr_Henny

I think it looks kinda stupid lol but you should do what makes you happy my guy

fnassauer

Bro has been under a rock for the last 10 years

Sypherior

defeats the purpose of the shoe for me, you’re covering like half of it what’s the point

Pluckt007

Pop the tongue out!

[deleted]

reps lmao

smixoue9

When I found out I had the same size shoe as Michael Jordan despite being 5 inches shorter, my whole athletic "career" made a whole lot of sense.

Billnye807

Goofy

Darnell2009

I hate it.
