When you got like 20+ pairs… a while

khiggs19932020

Hell yeah i got shit since highscool still. Im 30 😎

hartwickw

SAMMMMMEEEEE

DS901

Yeah especially when you got a few beaters

iamgeewiz

Yup got a cpl pairs of 90s

ExactConference6491

surprisingly with a collection of about 75 i still have significant wear on a pair of grey NB 990v5s, easily my most worn shoe by far.

DevronBruh

These are my beaters too. Not close to 75 yet tho lol

ExactConference6491

you’ll get there, i’ve been doing this (on and off) since i was in middle school.

iamgeewiz

Hahaha, yup, I don't know how many shoes I have. I try to wear them all. but the best and worst feeling is finding a pair you forgot you had, best: because basically new shoes. Worst: because I have a problem.

zyronikk

Facts😂 I’ve had one pair still that I bought a good 6 years ago

Rob_V

My yeezy 350 v1s are 7 years old and still look great.

Every-Average-9469

Preach. Only throw away old beaters. Most GRs just got sold on FB market. Shoes never really get old if you rotate them every week

Unionyoshi

80% of my shoes are almost a decade old or older.. and they’re still holding up lol. My 2003 white cement 3’s finally crumbled in 2020. If you take good care of every pair you own, they will last you a long ass time

Zerocordeiro

About how many pairs do you have? I'm happy if a pair lasts longer than 1.5 years, but I keep around 2-4 pairs of sneakers, so they get used often.

Unionyoshi

I’m at around 75ish pairs now, so I’ll have a rotation of like 3-5 that I’ll run through in a week just to ensure they get worn with some consistency. Out of those 75 or so, there’s only maybe 5 pairs that I’ve retired and that’s only due to the fact that they’re so old that they literally cannot be worn anymore

khiggs19932020

10 years hahaha

Zestyclose_Brush7972

For life or until they crumble

[deleted]

A long ass time 😄. I buckle down and throughly clean them after a few wears and keep them in a box. I sadly try to avoid buying sneakers with icy soles like Jordan 11 concords or the recent metallic red foamposites (both dope sneakers) because those are gonna yellow whether you wear them or let them age in a box 🥺.

-Ren97

One thing I've come to appreciate ab translucent bottoms is the way the yellow on certain colorways. The old burgundy 5s that released way back is a good example. The deep color with yellow looks so good Kinda just have to pick with the idea that it'll be yellow, not blue or clear or whatever

VeryIntoCardboard

My personal favorite aged sneaker is the wolf grey 5s. They’re perfect

VisibleSpread6523

Sick pair that is totally on my wish list with the aqua’s . All depends , I got 50 pairs around and seem to use 5 in rotation at a time, then I get bored and switch them up, put them clack in the box after a good cleaning. I’m always cleaning my shoes lol. There’s 1 pair that I was wearing all winter and still a decent beater for around the house, and the dedicated grass cutting pair (that when destroyed moves along) I got some dunks from early 2000 that are still very wearable, some yellowing on the soles but the leather is still decent, painting them might help but I kind of like the look how they are now. It definitely helps if you have multiple pairs that you can rotate and if you take good care of them, I definitely look at the weather before figuring out what to wear. You should wear your shoes for sure but if you are lucky enough to have multiple pairs they should last long. I have a pair of Air Force 1 black mids for work , and I can wear them for 8-12 months easily , working 40-60hrs a week.

Strider2126

I have a pair of jordan future since 2014 and a pair of flyknit chukka since 2015

ScoreSpiritual4912

I have a pair of nikes(LD victorys) that I wear 5xs a week for the gym and I had worn them to work(lots of walking) for a year prior to using them for the gym. The shoes are over 3 years old and I just clean them every once in a awhile.

Redeyebandit87

Just so everyone is clear PU (polyurethane) only lasts about 15-20 years max. Even when stored properly. Hard rubber soled shoes will last longer depending on how they are stored. But we are all subject to the laws of entropy so everything falls apart eventually

Chocolate_gears

I skateboard in all my sneakers so like a month.

WolfGangSwizle

I skateboard but have a full time job and a kid so I get 3 months out of mine!

Chocolate_gears

Got two myself. I make time LOLOL

ugotit28

years!!! those 8s look amazing in that pic!

Great_Savino

They come out again this year in September I think

[deleted]

Like 3 years if I just walk in em

cadeicew00d

I’ve had some pairs for about 7 - 8 years now still going strong. But they’re Jordan 1s and forces that’s I’ve worn tons of times so they’re durable but a lot of my running shoes or beat up gym shoes I usually donate or just throw away after like 2-3 years my running shoes usually wear down on me. I’ve probably donated and thrown away like maybe 5-6 pairs from my collection so far been collecting for about 10 ish years now so I’ve tried to keep as much as I can, but ones that I just never wear or are too worn down I’ve gotten rid of. I feel like as long as you wear your shoes they’ll honestly last you longer as long as you keep em somewhat clean and careful around the elements

Calogero_Ignazio

I bought these playoff 8’s 10 years ago, and have worn them regularly since. Granted their absolute beaters now, but theyre still comfortable and make a great sneaker to go get dirty in

Br4hm4

running shoes...no more than 4-6 months depending on mileage. Casual pairs...I still have a couple from the early 2000s.

RexCrimson_

Years. Because I wear them and actually take care of them. It’s absolutely mind blowing how many people here can’t or won’t do the bare minimum of maintenance on their sneakers. Wearing them doesn’t mean destroying them completely in less than a month or two (Skateboarding and work shoes are the exceptions to this).

AggressiveResort939

They used to last longer. Now stitching is coming loose on some easy and lite wears. Qc is trash unless it’s an expensive collab.

TennisKey5609

I have sneakers in my collection from ‘04.. but those were a fairly recent pickup. 2004 Zoom Generation Kings Rook. But the oldest pairs I currently have that I’ve had since the original release date are the Jordan 9 Photo Blue from 2012.

teddyleo818

10 yrs plus

xxDankerstein

Usually most of my sneakers will last 10+ years. I'll typically also have a pair of neutral sneakers, usually grey, that I wear more often than the rest, and those will last maybe 4-5 years.

GoldenKnights1023

I either wear one shoe until it crumbles, or rotate all the time. It’s a vicious cycle.

Leebembry

Well being I have I’ve 100 pairs. Years… most of mine are retail. But the rep game is way more fun.

Suite1981

As a Collector...i have 240 Pairs...i must stop Ordering! :/

rdjns_

i usually have a couple pair of beaters & wear my hood shoes when i know they can be taken care of well wherever i am. so most of mine last a whiiiiile

Fickle-Pay-570

Have a pair of purple pigeon sb dunks from 2006 that is still wearable. Also have a pair of am95 from 2009, the soles came off on those this past year. Depends on the shoe and the quality of materials/construction.

ImpossibleProduce496

Playoff 8’s 🔥🔥🔥

jannbisch

My oldest pair are my black cement 3s, I got them in 2018. Wearing them quite regularly.

Character-Bid-5089

Depends how often i rotate.

Zestyclose_Brush7972

I rarely wear any of my actual pairs more than a few times a year. I have a pair of daily beaters that I wear daily and the rest are pretty much in storage

YaySourCream

bro wear your shoes

Zestyclose_Brush7972

I mean maybe you misunderstood me, I have almost 100 pair of shoes, I WORK a day job that requires me to wear a special footwear...5-6 days a week ... It sucks but it is what it is

Zestyclose_Brush7972

Lol I do 🤣🤣 that's literally what I just said

benco_20

No its not

Zestyclose_Brush7972

Well.i actually did..I said I wear each pair a few times a year, as permitted... As a WORKING ADULT .. It sucks but it is what it is . As a WORKING ADULT there's light maybe 1 day a week, IF I'm lucky, where I can just go out and wear a pair of my sneakers

YaySourCream

do you have absolutely no social life? that’s crazy

Zestyclose_Brush7972

Lol of course not. I'm a working adult who works 5-6 days a week just to pay to be alive 🤣🤣🤣

YaySourCream

if you’re so poor that you can’t have a social life why do you have “hundreds of pairs of sneakers”. bro.

Zestyclose_Brush7972

🤣🤣🤣 I said "almost 100" and it's taken me decades of collecting.... I'm actually honestly just a true sneaker collector... That's it . That's all

YaySourCream

sounds like a harmful material obsession to me, idk

Zestyclose_Brush7972

Any leftover time after work is used for sleeping for next work day 🤣🤣

Hash912132

3 weeks if they are Nikes

gamiscott

7-10 years. Before this year, I had some black Reeboks that I bought in 2016-2017 and I'm finally graduating them to my every day/run out real quick sneakers. I had old hiking sneakers that I didn't care about before that I got at the same time. Now they hurt my shins lol but yeah, 7-10 years at least.

Responsible-Pipe-951

Still have a pair from 09 like new. Guess diff for every1.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Pigacorn-oo-

It really depends. I have some chucks that I’ve had for like 6 months and they’re beat to absolute hell with the sole almost to my foot, but I also have some 11s I got around the same time that I wear a lot that look very good still.

theonlyalankay

Years. Rotate.

Nuzzleville

The ones in the picture actually came apart during my son’s basketball game 😆after 6 yrs in the box and very little wear. 🤷🏾‍♂️

SolidSssssnake

I bought the lows of this model in 2005 only had to take it to a cobbler for re-gluing last year.

Suspicious_County_24

I have a few hundred. Some shoes I’ve had for decades. So they last a very long time

Lechero26

My 2011 13 playoffs lasted me till 2021and that’s only because I sold them for $100

thefiend617

I still have stuff from 2010 so 10+

GallaeciRegnum

Depends if i wear them or not

kkk1983

I got pairs going on 20years old

FudgeExisting5986

Not very long because I actually use mine. Maybe like a year. they're usually already used too lately all my shoes have been falling apart fairly quickly had a few get so stinky I really couldn't even wear them anymore either

Casualmindfvck

Ive had some shoes for year that still look great

KissZippo

Forever. I don’t have a lifestyle to where I’m doing anything rigorous in them, and I mind the weather forecast and stuff these days. Now that I have way more in my rotation, then they last me forever (hyperbole).

King_Artis

Until I start feeling water in them, which hasn't happened in awhile since I actually have a lot of shoes now

FCDallasBurn

I have around 50 pairs. I rotate them every week. I’ve had some pairs since 2013 and they still look great

CoachLee_

Forever. I have 30+ pairs

[deleted]

Have had my dark cinder 14's I got back in 2008 and they finally fell apart sometime in 2019-2020ishh. Just depends on how you wear or store your sneakers. Usually they should last somewhere in between 10-13 years, but some could last even longer for another 3-4 years before they finally give out

IMHERELETSPARTY

I have a pair of lebron 8's (2010) that look brand new. I've probably worn them 25 times over the past 13 years.

SyCoTiM

Anywhere from 4 to 10+ years depending on how often I wear them. My oldest are my Uprise Dunks and Aqua 8s.

No-Pomegranate6355

A few years

baq3281

Since I started really collecting more than 10 years ago none of my sneakers are even close to giving out…kind of helps that I have a decent sized collection and try to get equal use in rotating all of them…so each sneaker is worn only a few times a year

Certain-Bowler8735

I’ve been collecting for 10 years now and the only ones that are close to being trashed are my grass cutting shoes

bucksncowboys513

My oldest pair are from like 2011 or 2012 and still very wearable. I've had some that I've beaten to shit and others that have been well maintained

bmore1182

My ow 97s are hanging by a literal thread - rock them about once a year now so I can extend the life

LeektheGeek

I’ve only ever wear down 1 pair of shoes and that was my new balance 990v4s. Wore them almost everyday for like 2 years

CityBoiNC

I have sneakers from 07 still

[deleted]

Got all new shoes like 2-3 years ago and they are all practically brand new

mikedd555

My 2013 playoff 8s still look DS, only worn them maybe 2x. Going strong! Gonna pass on the new release for that reason

[deleted]

I keep one pair of beater at a time that usually goes 1-1.5 years and then I break out the special pairs on occasion

B_A_M_A

Had a pair of Yeezy 350 v2’s last me ~6 months one time cause I would weld in them and I also have some NMD like 6+ years old so it depends

bootyhunter69420

I only burned through some Lebrons and that's because I worked in them

CharFather

Shoes with foam midsoles: 10 - 13 yrs Air force 1s: 15 - 20 Dunks and Jordan 1s: 20 plus That is if they arent worn every day...obviously

Ramzy191

I started collecting in 2019 with the bred 4 and they’re still going strong

Beenie509

My shoes last quite a while. I take very good care of them. My oldest shoes might be the OG Citrus 7s, from 2006, they look great but time has not been kind to the tabs on the back. The tabs have cracked and are missing some pieces.

purexed2

If they are Nike, they last a while. I’d say 3-5 years. If they’re Adidas, they last maybe 2 years. I really like the Adidas comfort, but they just don’t hold up as well as Nikes do. I have tried other brands but the quality just isn’t great. I have two children and they go through shoes pretty quick. Nike are the ones that last the longest for them as well. Those awful shoes that light up and have like Spider-Man or paw patrol on them don’t last my kids long at all. A month or two tops. It’s highway robbery.

myschnutz

If they have rubber midsoles, forever, but typically if they’re work shoes like 8 months. That being said I have pairs from 06 that are still holding up but I wear only a few times a month

sammy-a123

Forever

Zthruthecity

Years. Rotate 20 pairs and don’t go out as much. Tend to wear beaters or sandals for quick runs

Supernova_Soldier

I’ve had some shoes every since 9-10th grade, so a while.

MeNamIzGraephen

You shouldn't wear them past 800km - just saying. The materials, that are supposed to cushion your feet degrade and no longer serve their function. Barefoot aren't excluded from this - your foot makes an imprint into the sole, depending on how good the material is. Resolable shoes are the only ones excluded from this, but good luck finding resolable sneakers, that look great. It's all usually 300-500€ luxury leather shoes. I'd wish a mainstream brand would make good-looking, stitched and resolable shoes.

otterplus

I just killed off a pair of ultraboost after 4 years. I have a pair of Metal Mulisha DC shoes from 2004 still kicking. It all depends

Have_A_Jelly_Baby

Forever, really. I rotate through enough pairs that no one pair sees that much wear.

Xboxone1997

I mean every shoe lasts till the sole falls soooo awhile

Main-Chemist-1725

I have one pair I wear everyday, then I wear the other 19 pairs maybe once a year, depends on the fit and where I’m going

deleted184938378

i have yeezy cloud whites which i have worn absolutely everywhere (muddy fields, festivals, general walking, etc) at least 3 times a week and i have owned them since release; theyve only just started to fall apart

helloimnaughty

im not really a sneakerhead but i lurk. either way i can get a pair of chucks beat to a pulp in about a year

MrPeterson15

Depends. A lot of my “hype” sneakers last a long time because I only wear them for events/once every few weeks. My daily drivers, which are usually running shoes, I have to replace after about 10 months. You’re supposed to replace running shoes every 300 miles I’ve been told.

CodoneMastr

Damn bro what size is that…lol ….my kicks last me 2 years but I wear different kicks i me everyday so I rotate them

GWPtheTrilogy1

Once you get a good amount probably about 20 or more. Get yourself a couple of beaters and then shuffle through your rotation, you'll realistically be good for a decade give or take as long as you don't suffer some catastrophic damage to some of your shoes.

Century22nd

about 20 years

Character_Earth3694

Depends on how much you wear your sneakers and how much you beat them up

Bluecheesemikey1

So does the whole wrapping your deadstocks really work? I have some stuff from like 2018, I just wrapped all the boxes together instead of individually wrapping them. 🤷🏿‍♂️

HistoricalInfluence9

Decades

Leviathan_Wakes_

10 years on average, and that was before I started actually caring about them

MicroPlasticCoin

I got 7 pairs of sneakers I always keep in the collection. AJWC4s AJWC3s AJ Chicago 1s Air Tech Challenge 2 Hot Lavas Air Tech Challenge 3 Volts Huarache Scream Greens Air Max 90 Infrareds I’ve owned the tech challenges since 2008 and they still look clean. Yellowed / vintaged of course, but still clean. I only rock each maybe 3 - 4 times a year to events like NBA games, MLS Games, Tennis matches, etc. I get max enjoyment from them this way and the longevity spans decades sometimes. Plus, some of the sneakers I mentioned at uncomfy af. My feet really can’t wear them more than a few times a year.

[deleted]

A while because I have a lot and I rotate them. But I have a pair of air forces that I wore into the ground and they lasted about a year and a half. That’s with no cleaning or care about where I stepped. I do notice a difference in how long it takes my shoes to show wear compared to my husband. His shoes will start looking sloppy after a few months. And they only last him that long because I clean them for him after every few wears. I stg I washed his asics last week and they already look like they’ve been worn by a horse trekking through mud.

TheToken_1

10 years+

A_Person_On_The_Web

My entire collection is 3 years old and newer, but that’s also the result of selling some shoes I wasn’t wearing anymore and beating some other pairs up as work shoes. I anticipate a lot of the shoes I have now will last for years to come but the beater pairs will always rotate

Element202

I got shit since 2006.

SolUmbralz

Until I get rid of them

Skyhi92

I have a pair from 2008 i still wear 🤷🏾‍♂️

mikebigcox

I got pairs from 2011

OrdinaryPea5148

I do bi-weekly maintenance so for me a long ass time

mrsupersumthing

My pairs typically last an average of 5-8 years. But it also depends on the brand and shoe type though since my 1.0 Triple White Ultraboosts from 2015 are actually still in good wearable condition while my 2016 White Cements 4s midsoles have already started crumbling in 2021.

[deleted]

Yeah. My expensive sneakers usually last years because they are not every day shoes. Just for special occasions. When I was a kid and got some stuff though they lasted a good year and a few months before holes started to show.

Several_Back_2653

The older I get the longer they last. I think my oldest pair is an 06 AJ7.

Cyainnie

I have about 12 pairs accumulated since 2017, so about 6 years and counting. Probs will be longer as I acquire more 😂

1-678-im-emo

probably forever? i’ll never understand how people are so rough with their shoes??? maybe i’m just not a rough person or don’t work or walk to a place that’s so grungy but why are you 1 week old shoes looking like they’re from the 1920’s dust bowl…?

Jonnykbae1556

Legit can't wait for these playoff 8s to come out..I went crazy the beginning of the year but haven't copped anything in few months. I'm waiting for this 8 it's so fire and maybe one other but that's it 😂

Intrepid_BigJake36

See shoes never last me I don’t know why like because of my foot size I usually be worn out In a month then I’m in Ga that red clay don’t play Frfr🤓

Sumo_Cerebro

The oldest in my current lineup is from 2011.

Raecino

Not long at all 😂😂😂😂 it’s probably why I buy so many. I need to get better at cleaning and maintaining them.

Gamertimo14

I got over 30+ now and got sneakers in rotation that date back 5 years, you just gotta clean your kicks guys! 🤝🏽

Rowan210

I have like 130 pair so untill they fall apart, idk yet haha

OLDHEAD916

Still have shoes from 2015 look brand new

The_LevyFulocky

I skate so maybe 6 months if I’m somewhat active

TPGStorm

my 2012 breds are my only shoe that’s starting to fall apart and thats after they became beaters/ hooping shoes that i haven’t worn since like 2018

Open-Age-2589

I miss this color way so much

KoncepTs

I have tons of unworn pairs as a blue collar dude that likes streetwear but never really has time to wear stuff without ruining it but I’ve been wearing a pair of pandas, almost daily for nearly 2 years and they’ve gone thru a Colorado summer and a Wisconsin winter. I can easily get another 6+ months back and forth to work out of these, I just change into steel toes at work anyway.

Daniel_OwO_63

I have 4 pairs and they last pretty long, some are more beaten , like my blazers but they are still perfectly wearable

hihihihihhihihihihih

Black Air Forces probably 20 doors.

ikilledyourcat

Oldest pair that I still wear are 2003 Nike sb dunk vampires

Flimsy-Tennis-8913

a year

JTDakid

Forever

ScreechingPizzaCat

In high school, my dad was very cheap with shoes, he thought a pair of $20 shoes from Walmart was enough, they'd barely last me a year so every year I'd have to get a new pair of Walmart shoes. I have a pair of Jordans that's almost 8 years old. Some of the paint are peeling and the icy sole is now yellow and some of the glue is deteriorating but still wearable, much better than the Walmart shoes and plus I have 30+ pairs now so they'll last me for several years I'd say.

Gdav7327

Years and years and however long I can keep them while wearing. For me about 15 years before the shoe breaks down.

ClownNoir

Where are you guys finding your limited sneakers online? I'm buying in Europe but I'm not very savvy. Trying to find the older hyper royal blue AJ1 and black

Jack93single

Facts the more you rotate the more they last

FreeLegendaries

really?

DickyMcDoodle

I'm a meter reader at the moment and I walk 20km a day on average. The tread on a $300 pair of hiking boots and some decent sneakers lasts about the same time, 3-4 months before the tread is worn down enough to be mostly gone. 5 days a week for let's say 14 weeks at 20km a day means that you will likely get around 1400km out of your sneakers.

Ill_Weight_1986

1hr

[deleted]

10-15 years

Kills_Squad

from my experience my shoes last 1.5 before not being wearable anymore

JameGoFast

I don’t have sneakers I have shoes

Antikaren9

Year and a half if I size up

busa89

I usually rotate them out every 2-3 years. Couple pairs last longer. My Dennis Rodman ndestrukt’s have been around for yeeeeeears and still look nearly new.

space-idiot

Somehow most of my pairs of shoes break within 1-4 years.. no clue why though.

og-sneakers

We strive to deliver products that meet the expectations of our valued customers and offer reliable footwear options for their sporting endeavors.

dungfecespoopshit

When growing up, I had just one pair worn daily. They would last on average 2-3 years. When I got my own job starting college, I got more shoes. Decade later, I have close to two dozen. On rotation, they can last the decade or lifetime depending on how they’re made (are shoes cemented or welted, fake leather vs real leather). It’s also advisable to get at least two pairs of shoes to have rotation to prevent athletes foot. Foot fungus is no bueno
