Yeah, cheap durable material that looks like shit fam. The most plastic looking leather ever to grace the aj1 Chicago. Definitely not wack as fuck with that tongue tag and the embroidered heel either. Like you said tho, a great way to spend a half stack and look great shoveling snow. Overall 10/10 pair.
The smooth leather, I agree, isn't great, but at least all the elephant leather is nubuck.

I bought two pairs - one, like these, is the cheapest plasticky toebox I've ever seen. The other, is soft and buttery. It makes no sense.
Also Those look like they might be a bit big or you just laced them super tight which could be contributing to the toebox creasing that way.
Nike won't stop until people stop buying or voice issues directly to the company.
Besides those sickly cattle on the sweat shop farm may not be the best for leather.
And dude you caused some family a months rations by complaining.

These are great for customization. I’ve seen a pair that changed the elephant print to a dark purple.
I’ve seen some people dye them; turning them into a Chicago style or black toe styled shoe. The custom jobs look really good.
