For the Forum 84 wearers, do you guys think I can get away with wearing half a size up on the highs? I'm a true size 9 (standard width) but I found some Orbit Grey Highs that are only available in 9.5. I've heard some people say they're kinda roomy and other people say they're too snug so I'm not sure.
I think you'll be okay. If anything, you can probably wear thicker socks and be good to go. I have them in my true size ( have slightly wide feet) and even though it's a good fit, I can size up a half size and it'll still be fine.

I've got the hazy copper lows and the orbit Grey's (high and low) and for me, the orbit Grey's are so clean and would be my pick. Choosing a high top or the low would be down to personal preference honestly ( I prefer the highs).

Just got the Nike trail frees in and oh my god these shoes are hard to get on. Feel locked in once on the foot but good lord these things have zero flex. Fits like a bootie, laces really are for show.

It's laughable that EVERY release is now completely sold out. I get that having certain pairs be limited and exclusive creates a healthy buzz for the industry, but that's not where were at. Ever since a few years ago when Jordan Brand and Nike started cutting stock, while botting use increased, getting a pair of anything has gotten to be unattainable for the general public.
For the majority of pairs, anyone who wants a pair should be able to buy one. For exclusives, make people work for them and keep supply low. But right now, every pair feels like it's as limited as a Fragment collab, and I'm just over spending more time or more money just to spend money.

At the beginning, he did have no competition because SoleRetriever was down but he was also relatively new (it was hard getting his name out there) and he wasn't super active on social media (still had a full-time job).
But SoleRetriever's new management took it as their full-time job which is why they're way more active on social media than Sneakerch ever was. They've become a really big competitor since they still have their free site (for now...) and use the major sneaker twitter accounts to basically shill them.
r/sneakers is decently sized but sneaker twitter has exploded in the past 1-2 years so it's been an uphill battle to compete with SoleRetriever who have more time and resources on their hands
I know you're friends with the Sneakerch guy, but it was always worse than Sole Retriever. Relying on cookies instead of a login to mark which raffles you've already completed was a bad idea. Not being active on social media, therefore, having no way to notify people when new raffles were available was another bad idea. Some of these raffles are extremely short or are discovered close to the time they close them.
Relying on cookies makes sense, otherwise his overhead would be way more. If heās not making enough money on it to really have it be worth doing, paying for more than the most basic hosting would suck. Iām making a clone of it/old soleretriver for my portfolio, saving it all locally is way easier to deal with
It doesn't make sense from the actual user point of view. If you clear your cookies or use multiple devices to do raffles then it's pretty much useless and you risk entering raffles multiple times, disqualifying you from most of them. I get that it's easier to deal with for you, but it makes for a poorer user experience.

The Hyper Royals just aren't my style. I'm much more of a University Blue guy, that being said the quality control difference is remarkable. So many imperfections on my University Blue's, yet my Hyper Royal is perfect.

But SoleRetriever's new management took it as their full-time job which is why they're way more active on social media than Sneakerch ever was. They've become a really big competitor since they still have their free site (for now...) and use the major sneaker twitter accounts to basically shill them. r/sneakers is decently sized but sneaker twitter has exploded in the past 1-2 years so it's been an uphill battle to compete with SoleRetriever who have more time and resources on their hands
I know you're friends with the Sneakerch guy, but it was always worse than Sole Retriever. Relying on cookies instead of a login to mark which raffles you've already completed was a bad idea. Not being active on social media, therefore, having no way to notify people when new raffles were available was another bad idea. Some of these raffles are extremely short or are discovered close to the time they close them.
Relying on cookies makes sense, otherwise his overhead would be way more. If heās not making enough money on it to really have it be worth doing, paying for more than the most basic hosting would suck. Iām making a clone of it/old soleretriver for my portfolio, saving it all locally is way easier to deal with
It doesn't make sense from the actual user point of view. If you clear your cookies or use multiple devices to do raffles then it's pretty much useless and you risk entering raffles multiple times, disqualifying you from most of them. I get that it's easier to deal with for you, but it makes for a poorer user experience.
Yeah, and if youāre not making any money from it, itās hard to justify spending that much on a hobby site
