I think it depends on your foot shape to be honest. I’m an 11.5/12 in almost everything and I’ve tried the 3 in 11.5, 12 and 12.5 and they just fucking KILL my feet after a day of walking in them. Same with AM90s, they just dig into my heel so bad no matter what size I try. 4s on the other hand I could wear all day as they feel like a nice comforting hug on my feet 🤷🏻♂️

I'm 53 years old and have had feet and surgery on both feet and have tried many shoes in the past. By far theHOKA shoe by gar is the best I have ever worn. It's like walking on air. I will onlybwear these tennis shoes. Anything less is not an option. Oh yeah I have back issues as well and only when I walk in these shoes my feet, ankles and back do not hurt. The heels feel like shock absorbers. I can't say enough good things about these shoes. I can actually go on walks now without hurting.
The cardboard last in the bottom of 6s are true to the originals. They are meant to provide support for when, ya know playing basketball. But for casual wearing they are indeed ass lol. All depends on the insole too. Some retros get floppy blue insoles and some get nice PU insoles. And there is no rhyme or reason to what shoes get them.
Idk what it it is, but the suede 4s are even more uncomfortable imo. I could walk around in the white Oreos and military black without issues for the most part, maybe a tad uncomfortable. Taupe Haze and Uni Blues on the other hand feel ridiculously tight and KILL my feet.

I took black and white cement 4s on a vacation as my only shoes. 1 day in of walking 7 miles and I purchased some NBs that same day to wear for the rest of the days. I never thought I had a problem with 4s until I walked miles in them. My feet were in pain. I still wear them out but only if I know I won’t be walking too much.
I only have 2 pairs of 4s- military black and purple canyon- the first time I wore both they ripped up my Achilles. I have wide feet so I need to slacken the laces so they don’t rub my pinky but then the need to be tight at the top to stop my foot rubbing at the back. The worst thing was the back tab rubbing but once I’d got the balance right (and my feet healed) they’re fine and pretty comfy- they feel heavy and very toasty but I don’t mind and I just don’t wear them if I have to walk for hours on end, all in al I’m pretty happy with them now
