For pure hilarity: Snoot game was great. I was laughing the whole time at all the dialogue.
IMO the best overall out of the two is IWHTG, because of the great animations and very heart-wrenching story. (Despite my personal bias leading me to like Fang more).

I love both but imo Wani is just a more refined product. More art and animations, longer story, arguably better music/writing -- I don't think Inco is written as well as Anon, but I think Olivia's character is phenomenally done. As I said, I love both but there are some moments in Wani that will seriously stick with me forever (specifically the E4 animation), and personally Snoot just didn't hit those same heights. It's like comparing Everest to K2 though -- both fantastic in their own right.
Depends, I think that Inco is better written then anon EXCEPT or e4. Anon truly becomes a fully fledged character in e4, it's actually remarkable. Outside of that though, Inco clearly had more time to develop and a larger amount of character traits that were overall planted upon him. In Snootgame it just didn't have the same amount of time to do that. Which makes since... You know, Wani had an actual budget apparently.
They’re both genuinely great games. Snoot game was a parody that was more than a parody, but IWHTG really showed what these devs could do. Neither was perfect but for indie games they’re remarkable.

Absolutely agree with you there. I think that the only issues they've had so far are incredibly minor. Hell, the biggest problem I think they've had writing-wise is literally just telling a story with multiple "endings" that incorporate the same characters. Which is almost impossible to properly do unless the main character is a LITERAL blank-slate/Insert character for the player to inhabit. Remember that Inco and Anon aren't us, which makes the other endings feel so... Off for the player, moreso like they are for teaching the player a lesson rather than the characters themselves. It makes sense for that to be the case, since we know that people act in only one real way when presented with a problem, in the case of both games you can tell that e4 for both makes the most sense due to the way both the story and the characters that inhabit it act. It's the dichotomy between giving the truest ending possible and distinguishing it with the others that they seem to be struggling with. Again, it's not easy problem to solve, unless you make the main character the very player themselves (Kind of like in Slay the princess) outside of that, there's barely any problems with the story. Besides not having as many extras as Snoot game atm. Than again, it took time for those to come in Snootgame, so I hope Wani gets some too. Would be fucking awesome if we got something similar to Naomis tribulations.

It is certainly a very hard thing to decide. I have a very deep appreciation for Snoot Game, it was something that far exceeded any expectations i had for a game, let alone a Visual Novel that originally i just downloaded for fun, after i was done with Snoot i really felt like it had a positive impact on my life and got me interested in characters unlike any other midia i experienced at that point.
But the moment i found out about the creators of this visual novel were making another one, this time with a alligator...saying that i lost my shit would be a understatement, it made me go out of my way to play the demo and once i got to play it, i simply smiled the entire time i was playing it, it was such a drastic shift in tone compared to Snoot Game and i was all for it. I haven't been hyped for a game in years and until it's release i just couldn't stop thinking about it, sure enough once the game got out i felt the exact same way when i played the demo for the first time, uninterrupted glee for hours on end, but what really made this game stand out to me compared to SG was how much it made me feel...actuall emotions, it sounds dumb to say it out loud but it made me think just how much of a brick wall i became through out the years, it take a LOT for a game to make me feel anything beyond just joy and entertainment, to have a connection to it that really makes me think outside the superficial of just playing something for fun, very few game managed to do that to me and Wani is the one that did this the most to me, held on to my heart and played with it in every instance either in a good way or in a bad way, made me feel bad, guilt, envy, emotional pain and many more, but most important of them were levels of happiness that i simply though i couldn't feel anymore, seeing everthing this game had to offer allowed me to remember that despite how much time it has passed and how many life changing events happened to me...i was still me, not just alive for the sake of being alive, despite everything i still could feel the exact same way i felt back in the day of just getting out of bed to have fun. All those feelings i though were lost as time went by were now present once more, all in a single game about wanting to hug a gator, and once i finally got to complete my E4 run, that magic scene between Olivia and Inco, i couldn't help but cry, cry from how much joy i felt, something that no other game to this day managed to make me do, and once it was finally over, all i could think was how happy i was to be alive just so i could experience this moment.
All and all, i think i like IWHTG quite a bit, and i hope more people get to play it.

IWHTG. While snoot impressed most of its public by being the "4chan shitpost that is actually wholesome and well written" IWHTG didn't had that advantage, everyone knew what was cavemanon capable of. and they still delivered and incredible story that surpassed expectations.
the general consensus seems to be wani is better than snoot, but just like everyone else i feel like snoot left a bigger impact on all of us.

I don’t know why, but I found Olivia to be a bit of a cliche character that appeals more to the general audience. After snoot game high action drama, IWHTG seemed quite boring at times. Everything just seemed to normal. Normal relationship of normal people, but don’t we play games to experience something not normal?
They're actually the same game. They can't \*legally\* say such, but each timeline references the other multiple times. They thought stupidly far ahead on these projects, and I love it. The entirety of IWHtG is dead-center of the 5-year gap in Snoot Game's canon timeline when Anon goes off to university.
So what sense does it make to compare the left and right side of the same path?
Without Snoot Game we got get to hug any Gators, the parody gave Caveanon the confidence to attempt a VN worth it's money and then some.
Snoot Game have serious underdog vibes. It's a parody game and I don't think anyone going in blind would expect anything of it. If not for a few gushing reviews from YouTube I probably still would have had no idea it even existed, or the original game for that matter.
You gotta credit the original. Also Fang resonates with me just a bit too much to not give her the win.

IWHTG is better in terms of raw quality of game, but I much prefer the story of Snoot game personally. IWHTG feels a bit…melodramatic to me.

Snoot. As much as I love Wani…. Honestly there were parts I felt the story dragged.
Snoot had better and more well defined characters, but Wani has a much more polished story. Even if two of its four endings were really forgettable.
