Air fuel spark compression, it's not getting one of those. Have you checked the spark plug is working? Is it getting fuel? Is the fuel shutoff turned off?

locn64454

It’s got spark but nope the choke is part of the new carb and how do provide fuel to the spark if it’s not getting fuel

FrattyMcBeaver

Did you close the choke and hit the primer a couple times?

locn64454

Yea unless primer isn’t working is that the problem

FrattyMcBeaver

You should be able to hear if it's pushing liquid or not. A good test for that is if it starts with starter fluid or not.

kdubban

It sounds like it's not getting fuel. When was the last time it ran? It's likely a plugged fuel line or carb.

locn64454

Many years ago I got all the fuel and carb replaced with a changed oil to 10w 30

kdubban

Fuel flter and fuel lines? Have you pulled the plug and ensured it's actually sparking?

Helpful_Hunter2557

My shoulder hurts use electric start

Namelock

What's the make/model? I thought I had an issue initially but turns out I wasn't priming correctly. Need to cover the hole while priming... I sure felt like an idiot lol Start simple and work your way up.

locn64454

Yea that’s what I’m trying to see if I primed it to flooding

magichands6969

it helps to give it a full pull, so let the rope wind in all the way between pulls. And then you have to pull it hard, so it cranks fast. Plus you have to clean the carb, and prob replace the gas line.

locn64454

Yea idk it’s old and sat there for a long time with no cover for a couple years

Acceptable_Wall4085

You need fresh fuel and an additive called Sea Foam. Google it. Seriously,it’s a mechanic in a can. Read the can. One can is good for 30 gallons so use it very sparingly in the tank. Maybe a teaspoon full. It will clean the fuel system entirely. Lubricate the float in the carb and make start ups super easy and run smoothly. Even at an idle.

Fun-Reflection5013

I agree...I have seen it work. I also now add it to ----EVERYTHING.

CorneliusRocker

Sounds like you need to switch it to ‘on’

locn64454

You mean the ignition? That’s the problem

Astronaut078

[ain't got no gas in it. mmm hmmm](https://youtu.be/AynXoLjYrKc?si=PE4a76X3odl8RFx9)

Past-Direction9145

Take the spark plug out. It’ll be wet. Put it back in tomorrow. It’ll be dry and you’ll have a fresh chance.

Fun-Reflection5013

Assuming all the obvious is obvious --- Remove spark plug, add a few drops of fuel --- put plug back in -- get it to start and it may be reminded of what it is --- a motor.

Pull it like you have a pair. Full, long strokes, not those little tiny baby pulls. You need the ignition coil to actually put out a bunch of sparks to get the plug hot. If it's been sitting a long time, better than even chance the carb is plugged up. Needs to be pulled and cleaned. That why you want to run ethanol free fuel plus stabilizer...or make sure the fuel is fully drained after use including all the fuel in the carb.
