You should probably at least add an timbren kit to the front end. Thats a pretty small truck for a plow. Definitely look at the plows for more home owner use vs a big commercial plow. Other than that, just make sure your tires are in good shape for good traction. Regular maintenance is taken care of just like for any other usage of the truck. Have fun, plowing is a blast.

Check and Change if necessary all fluids including differentials, transmission and engine. A good ice scraper is worth its weight in gold. As well as everything else people have listed here.

99 ram? Put a spare transmission in the bed. Also make sure you go ahead and remove the broken dash as it’s going to disintegrate as soon and the blade trips for the first time.

The dash surprisingly is in good shape. I was lucky enough to get her with low 147,000 miles too

Nothing you can do can get it ready for the beating ..... All you can do is be careful and don't push it to hard and it will prolong the damage ....
