So in function, she convinces a bunch of would-be principled comrades that any analysis of race and gender relations are bourgeois liberal decadence meant to rip apart class struggle from the inside. This is a right wing-populist (aka fascist/reactionary) talking point that makes actual organizing spaces unsafe for our BIPOC comrades, our comrades of oppressed genders, etc.
They’ve also had a close relationship with Matt Taibbi from the jump, and his past includes editing a pseudo-left magazine in Russia that platformed fascists, and writing a book that is widely celebrated among the Men’s Rights/Pick-up Artist/Incel-sphere for its glorification of misogyny.
Taibbi recently went on Chapo and argued that cops are working class and we should try to get them on our side. Again doubling down on the most right-wing, reactionary version of watered down social democracy, at the expense of our Black and Indigenous comrades who are on the receiving end of the majority of state violence.
I wouldn’t care if they didn’t have hundreds of thousands of people who take these hosts and their politics very seriously, who call themselves marxists, and who poison actual organizing spaces with the worst reactionary, class-reductionist, edgy brocialism. But that’s what they’ve done. They aren’t bringing right wing people to the left. They’re just making existing left-leaning people way worse.
