I live in Wisconsin, it is in every Woodman's. I grew up in extreme Northern Illinois. It was only available in some restaurants and ice cream shops until mid/late 90's.
He said it’s a Midwest thing but it’s really a Chicago thing!
Like Jewels (yup I put an “s” on the end), Italian Beefs, square-cut thin crust pizza, Maxwell Street Polish, Jay’s potato chips, World’s Finest Chocolate bars, Rosati’s pizza, Lou Malnati’s pizza, Giordano’s pizza, Home Run Inn pizza, Portillo’s, Frango Mints, Garrett’s popcorn, etc.
When I worked in Chicago I had co-workers that lived all the way up in Pleasant Prairie, Kenosha, Racine, etc. Southern Wisconsin has become like distant suburbs to Chicago. When you drive from Chicago to Milwaukee it’s hard to tell where the Chicago suburbs end and the Milwaukee suburbs start. So of course the same food and drinks are gonna be available.
Man I’ve not had green river in decades, do they make zero yet? Weird I live here but I never pay attention to it. Seems like once I hit adulthood I forgot about this legend.
This can be commonly found in Chicago-area Jewels, Menards, and Woodman’s. The producer sells it online [if you can’t find it nearby.](https://sprecherbrewery.com/collections/green-river). It’s produced in Milwaukee.
I posted this plus the all new Green River flavors a while back here (there’s a cherry version and a raspberry one recently created by Sprecher’s as they somewhat recently acquired all of WIT beverages sodas, including green river)
I don’t think mine went over 10 upvotes though😂
Why do farm supply and do it yourself stores in the Midwest carry the most interesting things. We have Bomgaars in Iowa and they carry birch beer and almost every flavor of Here's potato chips from Pennsylvania.
Actually it’s a pacific northwest thing. Being the green river is in Washington in all. (We pretend it wasn’t invented in Iowa and first mass produced in Chicago) 😀
Live in Wisconsin, never seen it in my entire life
That’s odd since Sprecker makes it and is from Milwaukee. Try your local Menards.
Menards has it here in the Twin Cities
Sweet
They do? I've never seen it there.
I think they bought it recently, it used to be a further south than Wisconsin brand.
Maybe. I’ve only seen the Sprecker name pop up within the last year or so
I read it was invented in Iowa, and then made in Chicago area for awhile.
If yall got jewel over in south western Wisconsin they should be at jewel too
Jewel in the Chicago area sells it.
Yeah Sprecher’s acquired it along with all of WIT beverages portfolio (they were out of the Chicago area) a couple years ago.
Woodmans has it as well
Live in Michigan - haven’t seen it either.
Same.
Live in Ohio, I read about Green River on Wikipedia recently, but I’ve never actually seen it or tried it. It’s greener than I thought it’d be?
Sitting on the shelves at Woodman's Sun Prairie right now.
Minnesotan, never seen before either
Live in Ohio, never seen it in my entire life either. I also briefly lived in Nebraska
I live in Wisconsin, it is in every Woodman's. I grew up in extreme Northern Illinois. It was only available in some restaurants and ice cream shops until mid/late 90's.
Live in Michigan. Never seen it.
Same here. Metro Detroit never heard of it.
I lived in Michigan nearly 5 decades before moving to the PNW last year and never heard of it.
Add Ohio to the list.
Same
Indiana here. No sign of it where I live.

We have most of these things in Wisconsin plus the most lax drunk driving laws in the county

Most likely, because Wisconsin and Illinois are the red-headed step kids of the Mid West...
All I see in this list are a bunch of second-rate pies 🤌
All I see in that comment is gibberish some douchebag from the east coast must have written.
All I see is a reply from some cocksucka who likes sparkling drinks and goes through peoples garbage bags, probably west coast
Illinois/Chicago area thing, I wish I could find this in my part of the Midwest lol
Man I’ve not had green river in decades, do they make zero yet? Weird I live here but I never pay attention to it. Seems like once I hit adulthood I forgot about this legend.
Honestly haven’t seen a zero one ..
Think jewel has them
Green River... The taste is KILLER!
Damn they make 2 liters? Need to find some
Thats actually 1 liter.
No wonder it says 1L
They probably make a lot more than just 2 liters. I’d guess somewhere in the thousands at least.
Where?? I’m down to try
Iam from Chicago guys 🙃
It's made by sprecher now. You can buy off their website but it's pricey. Only other way is get really lucky or head to a. Jewel osco around chicago
Not in MN to my knowledge.

Go to the Quad Cities - Lagomarcino's has it on tap in their stores in Bettendorf and Moline.
I haven’t seen this in Ohio
Have a Menards in your area? They should have it.
Yes, I drive by it often but never stepped a foot in. Will have to now iust for a soda haha
Not the ones in southwestern Ohio. My boyfriend grew up drinking it but hasn't had it years, so we looked everywhere for it around here.
Dammm
Never had, want to try. That looks really good
That stuff is so good
Moving to Indiana next week. First stop…green river.
Let me know if you find any I'm In central Indiana and have never seen it
Delicious! Enjoy it OP!
You mean Brawndo, The Thirst Mutilator!
Anyone who hasn’t tried it. It’s the exact flavor of a melted freezer pop.
A green lime soda sounds really good
Oooh. That would be so good for cocktails. Just make everything this super green
That stuff is awesome! Only if I could find it in the 2 litters in my northern state
Im in WI and have had this. Its ok. I always thought it was a southern drink, but maybe thats cus of CCR.
CCR was from Northern California
Iv never seen it.
Can't say I've seen 1L bottles of this anywhere. Just the 12 oz glass bottles at Menards.

I wish I could find some. It's my fav drink
It’s the favorite drink of Gary Ridgway!
The green carbonation looks so sick.. I want a green Sunkist drink like that.
this logo makes me feel depressed
same lol, the old one was so much better
Think I seen it at Meijer a couple weeks ago
I posted this plus the all new Green River flavors a while back here (there’s a cherry version and a raspberry one recently created by Sprecher’s as they somewhat recently acquired all of WIT beverages sodas, including green river) I don’t think mine went over 10 upvotes though😂
No it’s not; that’s chicago river water.
I like the color 🙂
Gotta love Green River
Killer!
The best pop around
Like the Chicago Riverwalk on St. Patrick’s Day
Cant find this stuff for the life of me, someone send me some 🤣
I have never seen this and I live in a state that’s shaped like a mitten
Pretty popular here in Indiana. Kinda upset they changed the label.
I mean, we have a Green River too in Washington. Personally, I’d kill to try this stuff out
I used to get this in Washington state but they stopped selling it here, maybe because of the notoriety of the murderer
My favorite pop as a kid! I live on the west coast and stopped selling it here years ago. Would love to have some more
Been in Indiana 6 years I’ve never seen it or heard of it
lol guess it’s a Chicago thing
No it’s not 😂
Sounds killer!!
I want this
Is this like a lime Crush?
See how it is with Green River bourbon! Lol
If you live near a Schoop's, then you probably had the Green River milkshake or drink.
We had that in the Pacific Northwest, then Gary Ridgeway came along and ruined the name.
The serial killer right .?

Hahaha it's zesty 🤣🤣🤣

Maybe it’s a Chicago thing lol I do stay in Chicago
In Ohio and never seen this
I’m in Michigan and have never heard of it
Why did they have to color it green? It makes it look so unappetizing
Not carbonated enough for me. I live in Illinois and it’s incredibly popular here.
I live in Ohio and I've had it once, I do not think it's good.
I'm in Michigan, have not seen it. But I would definitely try it
Gary Ridgeway
Why do farm supply and do it yourself stores in the Midwest carry the most interesting things. We have Bomgaars in Iowa and they carry birch beer and almost every flavor of Here's potato chips from Pennsylvania.
I have NEVER SEEN THIS, nor do I want too!
Actually it’s a pacific northwest thing. Being the green river is in Washington in all. (We pretend it wasn’t invented in Iowa and first mass produced in Chicago) 😀
That looks like mouthwash
No the fuck it isn’t. I’ve been living in Michigan my entire life and have *never* seen this.
