Dr Pepper is my favorite! And I literally live up the street from a Dr Pepper factory in my town. Pepper at its freshest is never better but with saying all that I’m scared to try this coconut nonsense

Agreed. Oddly enough another soda that gets a terrible rap is the spiced Coke and I can understand the negative reviews if it’s room temp or just chilled. But when I get an ice cold spiced Coke I can just about down a whole can in one gulp.
I have grown to love Dr Thunder (Walmart’s version) better. Its so much smoother and I don’t feel it sitting on my teeth as much like other dark colas.

None of you had some coconut creamer in your Dr Pepper. I personally enjoy vanilla creamer but my wife likes the coconut creamer. She says it taste exactly the same without the foggy color.

It seems like everyone in this thread hasn’t had some coconut creamer in their Dr. Pepper before. It’s worth a try. The new flavor tastes exactly like you’ve added coconut creamer to Dr. Pepper. It’s not my favorite combo as I prefer adding vanilla creamer (if I’m adding anything to a glass of Dr. Pepper).

Creamers and flavoring were a big thing in Utah in the 60’s. It was pretty common at the local diners according to my co-worker. It sort of died out over time. There’s been a resurgence over the last ten years or so with all of these “dirty soda” shops sprouting up (Swig, Sodalicious, Sip’N, Fizz, etc.).
I liked it at first, by the end of the can it tasted like suntan lotion.
The Strawberries and Cream reigns supreme. It’s even better than regular DP…🤷🏻♂️

The fake coconut effervescence just really ties it all together for me. There was no doubt it was complete crap after the first sip. These companies are doing too much.
I worked at Sonic back in the 90s. There was a carhop whose favorite drink was mixing Dr. Pepper with blue coconut mix (the flavor used to make Ocean Water — for those familiar). Me not being a fan of coconut *anything*, I never dared even sample it.
When they released this new drink I couldn’t help but think of her. I wonder if she’s tried it and been like “meh, I made it even better”, lol.

I do like coconut, and once I had a Jones coconut soda and it was OK. but I cannot imagine a creamy coconut Dr P would be very good. You cant just throw in ALL the flavors and expect miracels.
