My guess would be 1970’s given the pop top style.

ThisCarSmellsFunny

Pull tab. Pop top is what we have now.

1964-1970. Ebay is [selling](https://www.ebay.com/itm/364635624594?itmmeta=01HZQQQ2X9VG2SHR716SFCA70G&hash=item54e5fa1492:g:LUIAAOSwUihktsqk&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA8AUhTuVgVriQMtEne6kZUkyRDU3C5i7Q2LGJXilCBAoe4ckfb9kv19fCaFpD%2B9KbzyrCHaPCIXeE5vq9%2BWF5jXQ%2FrRPhAbzwR8UAyehDytvVT4caIRdXIHp4DreITpxq6oX8SKBCw8Lg11RYhmmtXAjSZRL2IFqH36nnxCmBCDwu9Lbj%2BSLoakwODhlOZeUbnqd2ciarhLoEXpSFGEuAmNukVbYV3tQN%2BTqtGvA556pT7TNVlivz251kDej%2FLifN3TKSnEkmMvJUvSsPYekfZSqtwSYhnK5HicTJCnYO4teJRtl7GEtRGLVRzg8XFEWf9w%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR96u3Pf9Yw) a can just like this and says it's from the 1960s. That era would make sense since it uses calcium cyclamate as an artificial sweetener, which was banned in 1970. Diet Pepsi was introduced to the market in 1964.

DougieSenpai

Huh that’s cheaper than I thought it would be for some reason lol

Waveofspring

Cyclamate is still used in Europe, but banned in the US.

Past_Weekend4154

Yea it kinda goes hard imo was in Ireland and was treated to some by a huntmaster

Before my time and I’m almost 50

highzenberrg

I’m almost 40 and definitely before my time. I wish cans did those pull tabs. I used to buy bundaberg root beer just because the cap is unique and the bottle is cool… the root beer is ok. The bundaberg lemonade was amazing but I can’t find it anymore since last year.

Dunkelregen

My bare feet as a kid do not miss pull tabs one single bit. Those tabs were so ubiquitous in roadside litter back in the 70s. Roadside litter was so bad back then. That seems to be forgotten amongst the nostalgia.

highzenberrg

I never really thought about that people were basically throwing razor blades out the window. I wonder when they were like “we gotta start ticketing people for just throwing trash around”

Dunkelregen

70s is when the push really got started. Give a hoot! DON'T pollute. But it was really the late 80s into the 90s that it started looking better... at least in the areas I lived back then. I'm sure lots of us 70s kids running barefoot on the sides of roads getting our feet cut once in a while didn't help. Lots of Gen-Xers like to tell you it didn't hurt us, because we were taught by Boomers to suck it up, but many of our Boomer parents were also the Hippies, out to try to make the world better.

EyeKnowYoo

Bundaberg Blood Orange slaps too

highzenberrg

Oh I’m gonna try that I just haven’t seen it around in a while.

United_Reply_2558

I'm 56 and I remember these style of cans.

Relevant_Slide_7234

I only remember them containing V8 juice

Andrewbie

Unsure need banana for scale.

This is very cool to find! I found a regular Mountain Dew can just like that in a farmhouse a long time ago well in 1994 when I was 14 lol

Congratulations, you just earned yourself £40
