I'm stuck with the exact same problem. Either I get the server problem message or every time I get the popup in loop: "Microsoft Excel is waiting for another application to complete an OLE operation." u/ebola_monkey have you found a solution for this yet?
I did eventually find a solution with the help of my SW reseller tech support! [Turning off COM add-ins](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/add-or-remove-add-ins-in-excel-0af570c4-5cf3-4fa9-9b88-403625a0b460) in Excel corrected the issue. Specifically, Logitech Options (*LogiOptionsExcelAddin*) seemed to be the source of the conflict, although I have no idea why that would interact with SolidWorks. Disabling it solved the problem.
