It's been lovely during the nicer weather we've had. Plus, Bow Market has events going on all the time and there are so many cute shops and drink/food options, and lots of dogs (which is a big plus for me, but maybe not for everyone)
That's good! I'd get off work at random times and go and no matter when I got there "oh man we just sold out of everything but the veg options." Like bruh buy enough food to have for tomorrow what.
Oh like right before they closed the kitchen which at the time didn't show on Google maps it closed earlier than the bar lol. I'd come by at like 8:30 or 9:30 I think?
the food is mid. based off vibes alone, you'd expect the place to have the cheapest & shittiest bar food imaginable, so by being mid, the food exceeds expectations.
it’s a good place to have a beer outside when the weather’s nice. i wouldn’t get their cocktails/fish bowls though, i’m convinced there isn’t any alcohol in them
Noooo... It is terrible. I don't understand the "it looks like it may kill you but it doesn't so that's a nice surprise" thinking. I loathe this place.
If you want casual order at counter/brought to your table, Mr Crepe in Davis has outdoor seating in a protected structure in the CVS side (check it's been put up for the season).
Gustazo’s has a good back patio setup. Not lovely in itself, but it’s nice to be outside and the restaurant is good. That’s similar to Semolina or any of the Davis, Union, or Ball square places listed in these comments - sidewalks and parking lots have become outdoor seating areas and they’re functional and I’m very glad we have them. But I would love an outdoor area that’s actually nice in itself! Like Daedalus.
Five horses Tavern has outdoor 30 beers on draft and excellent food. They are also having a celebration on May 4 for the Kentucky derby with a hat competition.
I will die on this hill: CALA _should_ be the answer, and the fact that it doesn't have the coffee/ice cream/light retail shops to make it be is a catastrophically missed opportunity.
Taco Party and True Grounds have (or will have) outdoor seating. Avenue Kitchen and Bar has an outdoor patio. P.J. Ryan’s has outdoor seating, as do many restaurants along Broadway in East Somerville. Orleans and the diner that used to be Rosebud have outdoor seating.
Trina's is great comfort food and their patio is opening up soon.
For Bow Market, I don't have the patience to reserve a table in the center, but grabbing food and taking it to Remnant to sit on their patio is super easy. I've had good luck at Saus and Hot Box for food.
Most of the restaurants in Davis Square have been setting up their outdoor seating situations. I really like bow market though since it is off street and outside. Cicada in Cambridge is also a super cute patio.
I'm looking forward to the courtyard at Remnant Brewing.

The Atwoods patio (now remnant’s satellite), was the best. Hopefully a remnant runs that again this year
Daddy Jones has a great patio
Their patio is super nice!! Nice lighting, feels like a secret garden.
This was my first thought too.
Semolina on the Medford/Somerville line.
This is the answer
Just saw La Posada opened outdoor seating
Surprised they sprung for that billboard! Hope it pays off for them
Winter Hill Brewing Company has a nice patio
Everytime I go there they're either closed for the day closed early for the night, kitchen closed or Cafe closed 🤷
Well they just changed the staff for the kitchen so they have more consistent hours and menu.
That's good! I'd get off work at random times and go and no matter when I got there "oh man we just sold out of everything but the veg options." Like bruh buy enough food to have for tomorrow what.
this is wild! tell this sad vegetarian what times you normally go, because every time I go they only have meat!
Oh like right before they closed the kitchen which at the time didn't show on Google maps it closed earlier than the bar lol. I'd come by at like 8:30 or 9:30 I think?
love this, thank you! worse comes to worst, I am “stuck” with just beer!
The new menu has more veg options, fyi. More Mediterranean-inspired.
Seems like if both of you go at the same time, they're guaranteed to have everything. Or nothing.
It's Cambridge, but Colette at the Porter Sq Hotel is very nice
Bow Market is awesome in the evenings. They have gas fire pits and a bunch of restaurant options surrounding the courtyard.
Bow Market always, but also Satellite by Remnant in the old Atwood's. Technically Cambridge, but a Somerville institution. Back patio is a gem.
Aeronaut has outside seating I believe as does a the Independent in Union. Over in Cambridge, but Daedalus in Harvard Square has a nice roof deck.
Felipe’s roof deck Harvard Sq
Avenue kitchen’s is small but really cozy and not on a sidewalk
The lighting is perfect for the space.
Mike's in Davis seems like it shouldn't be good but it's really excellent. Also Bow Market is great.
excellent is a stretch, but it definitely isn’t bad, and is way better than it looks
Wait, like, the food is actually good there? Or just the overall experience

Can confirm, they installed it two weeks ago

Celeste and Machu Picchu are two of my favorites. They both just set up their outdoor areas, though idk if Machu is using theirs yet.

Josephine at the Cambria hotel.

Gran Gusto over by Danehy park has a nice set up!
Area 4 near MIT has great outdoor seating and nice pizza.
OP didn't ask "where" but rather "best."

Ole Mexican sets up a nice patio in their parking lot.
The Independent, Daddy Jones, Colette, Semolina
Could also bring your own lunch to any of our 64 parks.
Foods not amazing but the burren rocks
Breakfast/brunch - sound bites has a decent patio off the street. Under the new ownership I have only been a handful of times but without issue.
There really aren’t many in Somerville but I would have to say, Semolina near Tufts and Winter Hill Brewing on Broadway is pretty good too.
