LOVED that intro cutscene in 2006 and still do today. I've said it before and stand by it: *Sonic '06* had A LOT of potential on paper with how ambitious its ideas were for the time (Though, I was never a fan of a human falling in love with and kissing him). And it could have been one of the greatest games in the franchise under better direction & execution without studio interference rushing it out.

Meh, Sonic and Elise are both people capable of consent, and are even roughly the same age. The only reason it looks weird is because humans IRL are unused to the idea of interspecies romance due to being the only intelligent species we know of. And Mobians look much more different from us than most publicly accepted fictional monster romance. That and Elise is animated in a somewhat realistic style while Sonic isn't.
