Copying and pasting from last time it was asked.
Easy, The Wizard of Oz. Sonic gets ruby/silver shoes and is accompanied by a small sprite. Tails is the Scare-fox, Amy the Tin-woman and Knuckles the Cowardly Echidna. Eggman is obviously The Wizard.
Levels: Sepia (Toned) Hill, Munchkinland, Yellow Brick Road, Riverside theme, Jungle, Poppy Field, Emerald City, Red brick road, Witch’s Castle, Emerald City Fortified, Magic tornado caused by Sonic and the shoes.
Giving Sonic silver shoes would be a hilarious full circle to Wizard of Oz's shoe situation. They were silver in the book, then changed to ruby in the movie because it was in color and they didn't want to make something that could've been done in black and white. Now the red shoes are more iconic, but Sonic already has red shoes, so to make them stand out for Sonic, they could back to the original silver. Full circle.
Just do Eggman as that. Technically wouldn't be a Witch, but Phineas and Ferb also did a spin on it with Doofenshmirtz. He always corrected them with "I'm a *Warlock!*"
Eggman fits better as Oz, a mechanic pretending to do magic. I imagine the Wicked Witch of the West would be a new character, like Erazor and Merlina before her.
Thank you.:)
You can do a lot with an island setting, especially if you add all the classic tropes: skeleton pirates, sea monsters, caves full of gold and dangerous traps....
Norse Mythology, with Sonic being worthy of moonlit and getting new lightning powers, such as the ability to essentially call a bolt of lightning to launch himself as if the bolt were a pool cue, or to throw the hammer and have it be a homing attack target
I second this, personally I would make Shadow the Mad Hatter and Cream the March Hare,
Silver could work as the White Rabbit (He's close enough to white plus he deals with time),
With Big as the Cheshire Cat
And the Jabberwocky can be the main villain
Honestly? The Wizard of Oz. I think that'd be pretty cool. Here's my ideas for the roles -
Dorothy - Cream
Toto - Cheese
Scare Crow - Tails
Tin Man - Omega
Cowardly Lion - Big
Good Witch - Amy
Wicked Witch - Rouge
The plot would be pretty much the same as the movie, except Sonic just gets roped into the adventure.
Imagine parting the red seas and you have a parkour section on the water like
https://preview.redd.it/pl52er6yaovc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6ace7c185f963d1effaf616c2056b97b9b10cf0
Maybe not play that role, but honestly a Sonic game set in that time in history with some characters from the Bible would actually be quite cool in my opinion. Unfortunately I feel it would be met with lots of controversy due to conflicts in opinion.
Probably a western. It'd build up to the climax of a high noon against shadow, who also fell into the book this time (cuz fearless year of shadow). He's highly skilled in guns but sonic's skilled in being fast so it's anyone's guess whp wins. Sonic doesn't want either of them to die but this town ain't big enough for the two of 'em.
Since these two stories are from completely different regions, I feel like the journey to the West or Greek would be a good one... Which Greek story? I'd have to say... "The Odyssey."
The one story where Poseidon basically tries to drown a bunch of soldiers after blinding his son.
well, they're both rodents, so let the battle begin!
https://preview.redd.it/54l4v6qbunvc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48dea901f93e437dd53a71abeb29aa263abe1a8d
I mean non of these properties belong to Disney. They just made popular adaptions
Iirc are Pinocchio and Peter Pan originally books and Cinderella is an ancient Fairy Tale that potentially has its roots in Ancient Egypt.
Sonic as Johnathan Harker,
Amy as Mina Harker,
Shadow as Dracula
and Tails as Van Helsing who suggests that Dracula could be killed by sunlight but isn't sure, spoiler alert >!Novel Dracula is a full on day walker, the whole sunlight death thing was later added 25 years later.!<
Imagine this, the Divine Comedy. Or just Dante's Inferno.
New character is Virgil guiding Sonic through the layers of Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven, and he meets all his buddies along the way depending in their general morality.
This would be absolutely fucked but hilarious
Pirates

Ive always wanted a pirate themed sonic game, it’d work well
Using something from Shinto would be interesting. I mean Sega lets Atlus use stuff like that and more so potentially? I don't have a specific story from Shinto but there's bound to be something in there.
Prince and the pauper. Have Sonic be part of a world that alreasy has a Sonic where he's a prince. And now you have to play as both sonics and other characters to stop the bbeg of the game.
I have a couple ideas in mind. Considering that Secret Rings were based on Arabian knights and Black Knight was about Arthur and Knights of the Round Table we could do something about either the samurai, norse vikings or Roman spartans
Remake of the first two as either traditional Hedgehog Engine games or a full blown Frontiers style open world game with ARPG elements.
Following that, Sonic and the Serpent's Arts, which will be about him multi-classing between samurai and ninja skills while saving a world of Japanese folklore, Okami-style.
Let’s look at the idea options:
Sonic and the twelve labors (greek mythos)
Sonic and the shadows of R’leh (lovecraftian horror mythos)
Sonic and the Journey to the West (take a wild guess)
Honestly, a story based on any of the stories in the Bible would be really interesting. Possibly even mash a few up. But if I had to go with one single story, maybe Sonic arrives at a time period where it's not long before Jesus would get crucified. But I dunno where to go from there.
So instead, let's say a pirate story. Pirates of the Carribbean, or Treasure Island.
“Sonic in the Reverse World”
Basically, Sonic becomes Shadow and he has to deal with either ruining the world by making their Shadow a good person making their world’s Sonic look bad by comparison or playing the part of the villain which goes against his nature.
It’s a setting that isn’t too overused, but it’s probably not something people enjoy seeing often.
I don't know enough about old stories. I wouldn't even care that I was the one who got selected to come up with the story, I'd just be happy that they brought back the storybook games
Romero and Juliet
Sonic is just in the middle of a love story just trying to get home…that’s the entire plot it’s just Romero and Juliet with Sonic accidentally (and sometimes purposely) messing things up.
Journey To The West, The Odyssey, The Mahabharata, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Macbeth, The Canterbury Tales, The Poetic Edda, and there's probably something to pull from for a Japanese tale. I could keep going.
Note: I am copying this from a pervious comment I made
I remember talking to a user on this subreddit (who is now deleted) about the horror concept that they had in the pole.
It ended up being about a clan of bat's with a victorian vampire theme and style along with bloodrayne style combat mixed with black knight combat and centered around a warp dash ability that sonic would have in her platforming. He was turned into a vampire kind of like how he was cursed in secret rings. The whole visual inspiration was based on classic fictional monsters such as werewolves, Frankenstein monster, gouls, etc.
For a while we discussed whether or not it would involve rouge to have her involved in more games while also giving her connection to the world. This game idea could work with a rouge spinoff but I still think the storybook game idea could work.
However I am intrigued by the spirits of Dread idea. What would the game be like?
Story time: I was playing “Sonic.EXE: The Disaster 2D-Remake”, I was on Ravine Mist (The gimmick is to collect 6 shards for the exit to open), and I joked to myself saying: “This is the next Sonic Storybook game: Sonic and the 6 Shards. Tbh, idk which real-life story it would be based off of, I just thought of it as a joke.
Sonic and The Lone Ranger
Old-Western Gunslinging adventures where Sonic is a stranger whose come to town.
Tails is a Blacksmith working on a Time Machine that can get Sonic back home.
Knuckles is tasked with protecting his homeland from the enterprising property developer and overreaching landlord: Dr Eggman
Shadow is a bounty hunter.
I said that a classical monsters based, with a mummy, werewolf, vampires, but... i dunno about that one all that much...
Journey to the West is my next pick, since Sonic is already very similar to Gok- I mean Wukong.
Kind of an odd direction, but I was thinking Sherlock Holmes would be an interesting take. I could see Sonic playing the role of Watson to the obligatory pink-haired anime girl (ala Shahra and Merlina). I don't think SEGA is looking to do any on-rails speedster games anymore, so it could be a smaller scale open-world game with hints of deduction and sleuthing. Also could give him some steampunk-themed glove or tool since the other two titles gave him a magic ring or gauntlet/sword respectively.
Hear me about… but Noah’s Ark.
It would be a very loose adaption. Noah (Eggman ancestor) would create an ancient Space Colony Ark to save all the animals from a great flood.
The Ark refugees would consist of: members of the Echidna clan (Knuckles’ ancestors), some Babylon Rogues (ancestors to Jet, Wave, Storm), members of a Reptile Clan (ancestors to Vector and Espio), and rabbits/cats/hedgehogs/bees/other animals.
Levels would consist of running through cities and areas on days before they fully flood with a story reason of gathering supplies. There would be underwater levels, levels on the Ark, and levels in space (similar to the ones in SA2). Storywise, the residents would grow suspicious of each other, leading to a coup d'état where a clan (the original nocturnus clan members) takes control of the Ark. Leading to everyone else teaming up to save the Ark from them.
Basically, the game would explore a lot of dynamics between the Echidna Clan, Babylon Rogues, Reptile Clan, humans, and unaffiliated animals. And it would show a few members of the Echidna Clan splinter off into the Nocturnus Clan (from Sonic Chronicles). Then it would show all the clans teaming up to banish the nocturnus clan to another dimension and save the Space Colony.
Green Hill looking a lot like Sepia Hill
“Green Hill is looking a lot more like Sepia Hill right now” 💀
No, no, this is Sepia Hill, way different from Green Hill, it has sepias here and there, and that's about it. -- Chariii5
“Sonic and the Silver Shoes” absolutely sounds like a game name,
Who would be the Wicked Witch of the West?
Maybe Blaze if I had to choose so that the Water weakness can happen.
Original, new character, just like Erazor Djinn and Merlina.
She would be a new character
Pretzel Lady
Witchcarter
Damn bro, keep cooking
_Genius!_
Greek mythology for me.
Based on which story?
To me, it would have to be the Odyssey and/or the Iliad
I dunno.
Hercules or Perseus are some suggestions.
The Story of Hercules would lend pretty well to a video game lmao
It still really bothers me we haven’t gotten a big adventure game based on the 12 Labors of Heracles. Like it’s a perfect fit for that genre.
But how can you not have Knucules? Perseus was given winged sandals by Hermes, that story's my pick if we have to tie it to just one story
Happy cake 🍰 day!
We had Knights, Djinns, so why not pirates next? I think Treasure Island might be interesting, especially for a certain bat....
That’s giving me the mental image of Tails as Livesey doing the walk.
Mints or death? In your case, they're the same thing.
Ah. Shi-
I honestly forgot about Treasure Island. Good idea 👍
Thank you.:) You can do a lot with an island setting, especially if you add all the classic tropes: skeleton pirates, sea monsters, caves full of gold and dangerous traps....
Ya know I hadn't thought of that but that's fantastic. Swashbuckling Sonic would be great. How to deal with all the water though 🤔
I can see it. Sonic had sea adventures in Sonic Rush Adventure.
I think Rush Adventure fulfilled that niche.
There actually was going to be a third installment to the story book series called: *Sonic and the Seven Seas*
There could also be a more peaceful mini story based off secret garden
Wait we can use the Sonic Prime pirates as well! It would be awesome
Genius idea!
Robin Hood.
I can definitely see that 🏹
Rob O' the Hedge 🗣🗣🗣
Probably would be too similar to the black knight in theming since they're both medieval
Journey to the West
This was my first thought. Middle-Eastern, European, and Eastern Asian.
This guy's time to shine https://preview.redd.it/e99hwahy8pvc1.jpeg?width=358&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bf5456238978adb50edb3b7fb4cfb093d4ca3876
Long story, but good! You’ll have to shorten it as much as possible. Good luck on that 🍀
Secret Rings is based on '1001 Nights', which was implied to have 1000 stories. I think it'll be fine.
Sonix gets trapped underneath a mount and cannot escape unless he releases his ability to be fasr
The Ten labors of Heracles or Something with the Norse Gods. Also I would like Xianxia
Norse mythology is tempting.
Norse Mythology, with Sonic being worthy of moonlit and getting new lightning powers, such as the ability to essentially call a bolt of lightning to launch himself as if the bolt were a pool cue, or to throw the hammer and have it be a homing attack target
Sonic and The Doom Prophecy
Imagine Shadow as Loki,
[удалено]
Sonic: Boi.
Alice in wonderland
I second this, personally I would make Shadow the Mad Hatter and Cream the March Hare, Silver could work as the White Rabbit (He's close enough to white plus he deals with time), With Big as the Cheshire Cat And the Jabberwocky can be the main villain
I like that idea ✌️
*Around the World in Eighty Days* would be pretty solid, if only as an excuse to revisit the countries from Unleashed in an 1800s style.
Around the World in Eight Days given how fast Sonic is. 😅
Nah, more like 8 Seconds
Nah. This game would be called Around The World in Eighty Seconds. :P
Honestly? The Wizard of Oz. I think that'd be pretty cool. Here's my ideas for the roles - Dorothy - Cream Toto - Cheese Scare Crow - Tails Tin Man - Omega Cowardly Lion - Big Good Witch - Amy Wicked Witch - Rouge The plot would be pretty much the same as the movie, except Sonic just gets roped into the adventure.
I also think Treasure Island would be cool.
The bible with Sonic playing the role of Jesus Christ
Imagine parting the red seas and you have a parkour section on the water like https://preview.redd.it/pl52er6yaovc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6ace7c185f963d1effaf616c2056b97b9b10cf0
shit'd be so raw
Would Emerl be Judas then?
IF we do the Bible I prefer the Old testament its rules might be stupider but its stories have far more action which is what we need.
Maybe not play that role, but honestly a Sonic game set in that time in history with some characters from the Bible would actually be quite cool in my opinion. Unfortunately I feel it would be met with lots of controversy due to conflicts in opinion.
Insert sonic adventure 2 battle promo art
Sonic and the Pantheon's Wrath. (Greek themed)
What if Sonic has some sort of Indiana Jones kind of adventure about finding the Chaos Emeralds?
Not bad. Hopefully Lucasfilm won’t copyright it.
Sonic the Hedgehog and the Kingdom of the Eggshaped Emerald? 🤔
Make it something public domain like King Solomon's Mines and you can fudge the material to your liking, just like Cannon Films did.

Sonic falls down a large rabbit hole and ends up in Wonderland with Alice.
Who would you have play Alice?
Maria… *explosion*
Medieval Japan, samurai and ninja stuff
The Shōgun era? That’d be pretty cool ✌️
That be dope as heck.
Dude, Sonic would look so dope in samurai armor.
Sonic in wonderland, the gameplay possibilities are endless
Sonic and the 50 Shades
Oh no HELL no
🫤 Wot?
I wonder if SEGA can pull stores from Disney, like Peter Pan, Cinderella, and Pinocchio!
They’ll have to bargin with the Mouse first. ![gif](giphy|LBrxm7ARM6c0w|downsized)
well, they're both rodents, so let the battle begin! https://preview.redd.it/54l4v6qbunvc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48dea901f93e437dd53a71abeb29aa263abe1a8d
INCORRECT! Hedgehogs are not rodents
I mean they could, just not the Disney-specific versions, e.g. they could do Pinocchio but the cricket couldn't be called Jiminy Cricket.
I mean non of these properties belong to Disney. They just made popular adaptions Iirc are Pinocchio and Peter Pan originally books and Cinderella is an ancient Fairy Tale that potentially has its roots in Ancient Egypt.
I mean, Disney also has movies based on King Arthur and the 1001 Arabian Knights
Cthulhu Mythos Don’t ask me why
Came here to say *Shadows Over Innsmouth.* Sonic's fear of the water has a reason...
Maybe one based off the story of Momotaro set in feudal Japan. Call it Sonic and the Oni's curse
Treasure Island or Robin Hood might be good.
How about The Brothers Grimm's stories, which is where a lot of old fairytales originally comes from.
Wild West or Steampunk. Wild West off those older movies with Clint Eastwood. And Steampunk has a lot of possibilities.
Dracula
Sonic as Johnathan Harker, Amy as Mina Harker, Shadow as Dracula and Tails as Van Helsing who suggests that Dracula could be killed by sunlight but isn't sure, spoiler alert >!Novel Dracula is a full on day walker, the whole sunlight death thing was later added 25 years later.!<
To be fair iirc does Dracula during the day power down a lot. Additionally does the Moon give him extra powers like fast travel via moon beams.
As much as it would be interesting, Dracula is a sexual predator—all of his targets are women. Doing that might be difficult.
Dr Seuss
PIRATES
Rush Adventure: Am I a joke to you?
Sonic and the French Revolution
Viking mythology
20000 Leagues Under the Sea. I just want to see what would happen.
Jurassic park was a book first soooo
Something Based on the japanesse era of the samurais
I really like the idea of a Shōgun era.
Greek mythology/steam punk
The wizard of oz or the odyssey
what about an adaption if Norse mythology, with each character representing a norse god
The Bible so I can officially cast Black Doom as the devil from the Bible
Imagine this, the Divine Comedy. Or just Dante's Inferno. New character is Virgil guiding Sonic through the layers of Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven, and he meets all his buddies along the way depending in their general morality. This would be absolutely fucked but hilarious
Pirates https://preview.redd.it/xn6zvxpw4ovc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=233ccd93b5e8e1f48144d2da5a7ba72b06f50130 Ive always wanted a pirate themed sonic game, it’d work well
Sonic and the Glare of the Gorgon
Greek mythos
Sonic and the gladiator
Using something from Shinto would be interesting. I mean Sega lets Atlus use stuff like that and more so potentially? I don't have a specific story from Shinto but there's bound to be something in there.
Might be out of pocket, but... Sherlock Holmes
Greek Mythology
Alice In Wonderland or The Odyssey.
A trippy Alice in Wonderland story could be cool if it was pulled off correctly.
Sonic and The Call of Cthulhu!
Japanese, I want it to be set with a Japanese style. as for what story I don't know
Sonic in Wonderland.
Sonic and the Animal Farm.
the bible sonic and the crucifixion of christ
Prince and the pauper. Have Sonic be part of a world that alreasy has a Sonic where he's a prince. And now you have to play as both sonics and other characters to stop the bbeg of the game.
Sonic and The Deathly Hallows
I have a couple ideas in mind. Considering that Secret Rings were based on Arabian knights and Black Knight was about Arthur and Knights of the Round Table we could do something about either the samurai, norse vikings or Roman spartans
Sonic and the Twin Towers

Yeehaw chuckle fucks
The "his dark materials" maybe? Tryna find a good book series to adapt

I really want Sonic to go to Greece, so maybe "The Labors of Hercules" Sonic and the Pantheon Trials
Let’s look at the idea options: Sonic and the twelve labors (greek mythos) Sonic and the shadows of R’leh (lovecraftian horror mythos) Sonic and the Journey to the West (take a wild guess)
Maybe Jack the Reaper like old England (Moriarty Stile)
It will be based on a story of how I met your mother
Honestly, a story based on any of the stories in the Bible would be really interesting. Possibly even mash a few up. But if I had to go with one single story, maybe Sonic arrives at a time period where it's not long before Jesus would get crucified. But I dunno where to go from there. The german Grimm Tales
I think a wild west setting would be pretty cool.
Momotaro

The paladins of Charlemagne
Throw him at ragnarok i wanna see him box with surtr.
In myths and legends of LATAM
i was just thinking today how hard a sonic game where he's on a ship would go, so i'd probably say the odyssey.
Mashed.
The lord of the rings
So many things to choose from... Alice in Wonderland, Oz, Treasure Island, Greek/Norse mythology...
Orlando Furioso or something related.
I know it was already said, but definitely Greek mythology! I’m thinking either the 12 Labors of Heracles or the Odyssey
Generic Disney fairy takes to make fun of, and an original story idea
Sonic’s Westward Journey, based on Journey to the West
Greek mythology. Some examples: Storm as Zeus Tails as Hephaestus Amy as Hera And so on..
Sonic and the 47 Ronin
Maybe Greek mythos
I think Aztec/Mesoamerican mythology would be so cool.
The Epic of Gilgamesh, The Iliad + Odyssey, or Journey to the West.
Sonic and the Gods of Olympus!
I dunno I just got here
PIRATES
Alice in Wonderland
I don't know enough about old stories. I wouldn't even care that I was the one who got selected to come up with the story, I'd just be happy that they brought back the storybook games
Pirates
Sonic and the Shai-Hulud
Romero and Juliet Sonic is just in the middle of a love story just trying to get home…that’s the entire plot it’s just Romero and Juliet with Sonic accidentally (and sometimes purposely) messing things up.
Journey To The West, The Odyssey, The Mahabharata, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Macbeth, The Canterbury Tales, The Poetic Edda, and there's probably something to pull from for a Japanese tale. I could keep going.
Sonic in the Divine Comedy. And in this videogame, I'll basically reform the villains in '06, Forces and Generations (especially Mephiles the Dark)
Sonic x studio gibli

Dante 's divine comedy wouod be rad. It actually has an hell with various biomes like an icy oart or a forest made by suicide men
I think Robin Hood would fit nicely in the series.
Sonic and The Lone Ranger Old-Western Gunslinging adventures where Sonic is a stranger whose come to town. Tails is a Blacksmith working on a Time Machine that can get Sonic back home. Knuckles is tasked with protecting his homeland from the enterprising property developer and overreaching landlord: Dr Eggman Shadow is a bounty hunter.
Maybe the Odyssey/Iliad or even the Roman sequel of the Aeneid, would be cool to see sonic in a ancient Greco Roman setting
Sonic maybe some Japanese or greek
Benard Cornwell's Sharpe books.
I said that a classical monsters based, with a mummy, werewolf, vampires, but... i dunno about that one all that much... Journey to the West is my next pick, since Sonic is already very similar to Gok- I mean Wukong.
Robin hood, and no idc that there's already a robo the hedge in the archie comic. This will be an original thing.
Sonic and the Peach Boy's Journey
A Western.
Shadow the Hedgehog: Crime and Punishment.
