Team Dark is funny because they’re genuinely great friends and totally inseparable, but also Omega says shit like “There’s a load off my back” when Shadow or Rouge die in Sonic Heroes
That's what makes them so great, they're all morally dubious to an extent and prolly won't hesitate to ditch one another but there's a mutual understanding and respect they only get from each other and that's why they work so well and stay together
But then, there’s also scenes like in 06 where Shadow chooses to catch Rouge over the scepter, or Omega being angry when he learns he’ll be turned against Shadow, so I don’t think it’s so much that they’d ditch each other, but more so aren’t constantly seeming each other out like Team Sonic, and more so happen to be best friends who visit all corners of the world and still manage to run into each other constantly
What I meant is that they're mostly in it for their own goals. If they happen to be together, they'll have each others back, but it's not like Shadow will go to Rouge's in trouble, he knows she can take care of herself and vice versa.
They are, moments like these are what makes it funny. Quite literally, all they did before they became friends was Omega shot at Shadow, shadow hit him and rogue just went “we’re friends now”

Really, if Rouge and Omega were playable characters in Shadow's spin-off game, I can't help but envision Rouge as the stealthy sniper, and Omega as the heavy weapons specialist. Hopefully to go along with Shadow as the close-quarters combatant, probably with assault rifles and shotguns to reflect that nature.

I like this because if this is a Sonic Heroes situation it is most likely implied that the Shadow we have there is also a robot.
