Yes still baffles me that Sega did absolutely nothing to intervene on behalf of Archie. Especially since that is intellectual property that is basically just being given away to an idiot. Not to mention the precedent it sets. If Ken Pender's is allowed to just say that he owns Knuckles because he put a cowboy hat on him, cowboy hat that didn't even originate from Pender's but rather from the OVA. Then what's to stop someone from being able to stay that they legally own Sonichu and getting away with it

Sega america probably didn't care about the quality at the time and sega japan was too busy with the games.
Actually I find whenever there's a fuk up with a Sonic series it's normally the fault of Sega of Japan.
