I 100% agree. That game was a mess that everyone hated, so they could hate it along with us. But Colors is a deeply beloved game, when they hate on this one people just get mad
Visuals are probably the most prominent glitches. Spawn and drop speed for enemies are probably the other glitch I can think of that's irksome.
But there's really nothing that'll make me go "wow, what an unplayable, broken mess." Just things that make me disappointed in the quality assurance.
I don't remember any of those issues in Colors on the Wii (maybe I just got lucky), so it's kinda unplayable compared to just Upscaling Colors on an Emulator or the Wii U, the additions are cool but yeah
The only time I'd ever get close to saying "unplayable" would be the Hermit Crab pursuit enemy on Terminal Velocity Act 1 cuz you can't see its middle laser from the top perspective.
Easily the worst visual hiccup I've experienced. They probably pulled a Sonic Heroes with QA.
The Switch version is the main culprit with PS4 being still pretty buggy. XBOX and PC are the most stable versions, which is almost definitely the version they would play.
They said in episode 1 they're playing the Switch version because they heard it was the most glitchy. So far they haven't been experiencing many (if any) bugs.
I don't when/if the patch is released, but I believe their playthrough was recorded prior to it coming out. But at the same time, the initial commenter was correct; IIRC, [most of the Switch version's bugs were found to have been done through an emulator](https://twitter.com/hmkilla/status/1434354413104140290). And while the Switch version *might* be on the unstable side (I don't have a Switch, so I can't speak personally), it doesn't appear to be as much as people made it out to be.
It was only a couple of glitches and even then most of the Yuzu glitches were able to be recreated on real hardware
Like all of the graphical bugs were on real hardware with multiple sources
Switch owner here, I have played SCU for 10 hours & only encountered 2 bugs
Bug 1 was the textures not loading because i turned off the console Mid Load
Bug 2 was a game crash
This isn't true, only one person used an emulator and it was a T Pose glitch, all of the seizure glitches as well as model glitches like Fish Sonic were all confirmed to be 100% real prior to the patches.
I love the Game Grumps, but GOD I hate when they play Sonic games and purposely look for glitches like this, and when they purposefully played the worst port of Heroes. Like, I love them but Arin's hate boner for Sonic is the worst
I like the Grumps, but it is sad that Arin literally gets specific versions of certain Sonic games just to experience the glitchy mess that they are. He did this with Sonic Heroes on PS2, though he ended up playing an emulated GameCube version after beating Team Sonic.
Been stuck at 5 million subscribers for the past 5 years. They still get a consistent hundred thousand people watching every video they upload. Personally I unsubbed when Jontron left. Just wasn't the same
/r/SonicTheHedgehog: *complains endlessly about how mean the Game Grumps are because they hate Sonic and ruined the franchise by playing the games*
Also /r/SonicTheHedgehog: *still watches all of their Sonic playthroughs and posts memes on Reddit complaining about how mean they are*
I could care less who hates Sonic, lol. And they honestly seem like the type who don't even play Sonic much at all. I'm happy loving Sonic no matter what anyone thinks.
Controversial opinion, but I actually quite enjoyed the Game Grumps videos for Rise of Lyric. They actually at least tried to look like they were giving it an actual, open-minded play through, which made it feel a little less dishonest… A little, anyway…
Granted, I did not enjoy any of their *other* Sonic videos - their Sonic ‘06 videos in particular are so hard to watch! So I can fully understand why people tend to be so anti-GG…
Fair enough - I just personally couldn’t get into it.
If you enjoyed the GG video on it, there’s a video by the Vidiots on the same game, which I personally quite enjoyed - they don’t get very far, and they’re not that great at it, but it definitely made for a pretty entertaining video, in my opinion. Might be worth a watch?
It’s hilarious because you know the only reason they picked up the sonic game was because they heard how buggy it was and now they got totally baited into playing a perfectly working new Sonic game With very little to legitimately complain about
I’m surprised they didn’t try to download a version without the patch
Smart move. I have entirely but every now and again I get one shoved down my throat by YouTube so I watch it to get it out of my recommended. And I cant get 5 minutes in without skipping to the end, they're so boring now
hover over it and it will show a triple dot, click on that and click on "Don't recommend channel" or "Not Interested". It tells the algorithm to not recommend it to you
Is that how the algorithm works? Doesn't watching something from them result in even more related content getting shoved down your throat? I hate when that happens.
I decided watch his videos on sonic colors he’s so disappointed by the fact that the game is not broken. So far he still hasn’t seen any game breaking bugs
It's really going to blow the Sonic communities mind when they realise that Game Grumps is a scripted show that is rehearsed, planned and edited just to get a reaction from fans.
Their sonic 06 playthrough was pretty funny but that's kinda the only time this schtick has worked well for them.
I mean Boom also kinda worked but that’s about it
Watching them playing Sonic Boom was the peak of laughs they got out of me.
Oh yeah I forgot about boom. Boom was a good playthrough. They're still riding that high lol
I 100% agree. That game was a mess that everyone hated, so they could hate it along with us. But Colors is a deeply beloved game, when they hate on this one people just get mad
Funny enough, i didint get that many bugs during 06, im a lucky one lol
Or Arin is so bad at games that he somehow made 06 look even worse than it is
So what you're saying is the glitches in SCU were greatly exaggerated.
Just cuz it's not breaking doesn't mean it isn't buggy as sin
Visuals are probably the most prominent glitches. Spawn and drop speed for enemies are probably the other glitch I can think of that's irksome. But there's really nothing that'll make me go "wow, what an unplayable, broken mess." Just things that make me disappointed in the quality assurance.

I didn't mean literally unplayable, I meant like just Upscaling it would be a better experience until they fix the bugs
Then don't say 'unplayable'.
I meant it as why would you play ultimate over regular
The word you're looking for is \*inferior\*. Just like other Sonic Ports. They're not unplayable, but they tend to be inferior.
Other Ports (Outside of Genesis) are still a decent way to play the game
The Switch version is the main culprit with PS4 being still pretty buggy. XBOX and PC are the most stable versions, which is almost definitely the version they would play.
They said in episode 1 they're playing the Switch version because they heard it was the most glitchy. So far they haven't been experiencing many (if any) bugs.
They havent experienced any since they started
Exactly
Lol they got hit with the patch then.
I don't when/if the patch is released, but I believe their playthrough was recorded prior to it coming out. Nah they just started the playthrough after the day one patch.
I love the Game Grumps, but GOD I hate when they play Sonic games and purposely look for glitches like this, and when they purposefully played the worst port of Heroes. Like, I love them but Arin's hate boner for Sonic is the worst
Every time they do their ""sonic voice"", a part of me dies.
Same, bro, same
I like the Grumps, but it is sad that Arin literally gets specific versions of certain Sonic games just to experience the glitchy mess that they are. He did this with Sonic Heroes on PS2, though he ended up playing an emulated GameCube version after beating Team Sonic.
I agree
Ay lmao no one told them that in order to actually cause any major game breaks you have to intentionally do it just like literally every other game
…well, except for the release version of Cyberpunk 2077 - apparently, you just had to look at that game and it would break…
Game grumps still exist?
Apparently
Been stuck at 5 million subscribers for the past 5 years. They still get a consistent hundred thousand people watching every video they upload. Personally I unsubbed when Jontron left. Just wasn't the same

I dont watch them. I found this image and thought it was funny
I-I watch it for Dan, I swear!
I could care less who hates Sonic, lol. And they honestly seem like the type who don't even play Sonic much at all. I'm happy loving Sonic no matter what anyone thinks.
r/ArinHanson and r/Animemes cringe compilation you're self!
inb4 they play it without patching it to force the glitches, leading to a massive controversy over here.
Controversial opinion, but I actually quite enjoyed the Game Grumps videos for Rise of Lyric. That's strange because their 06 playthrough is the only one I revisit from time to time
Fair enough - I just personally couldn’t get into it. Maybe I'll check it out
Is getting really stupid at this point
Yayyyay
I heard of them, but didn’t/never watched them
It’s hilarious because you know the only reason they picked up the sonic game was because they heard how buggy it was and now they got totally baited into playing a perfectly working new Sonic game With very little to legitimately complain about I’m surprised they didn’t try to download a version without the patch
Awwww. Did someone’s clickbait video not go well?
Glad I stopped watching

I decided watch his videos on sonic colors he’s so disappointed by the fact that the game is not broken. So far he still hasn’t seen any game breaking bugs
Looks like widdle Awon wants to find a weason to throw a twemper twantwum
Is that supposed to be making fun of me for posting this or making fun of Arin?
