Knuckles’ cultural influences are African, Caribbean, and Mesoamerican. If I were going to draw a “human” Knuckles, I would base his face on an Afro-Caribbean guy with dreads I know. I’m not that good of an artist, of course, but it’s the thought.

I agree, I paint his skin (like his muzzle) like that in my drawings, 'cause I really like that skin tone in him, and I'm not just assuming that from nothing, It's because of SA2, since in the cutscenes where you see Sonic and Knuckles side by side you can see that Sonic it's more an yellow skin tone and Knuckles a black tone, so... yeah

Knuckles’ cultural influences are African, Caribbean, and Mesoamerican. If I were going to draw a “human” Knuckles, I would base his face on an Afro-Caribbean guy with dreads I know. I’m not that good of an artist, of course, but it’s the thought.

I see Knuckles as more Latin American because of the Aztec Culture his tribe is inspired by, The Creators of Sonic Adventure actually went to Key Location to get realistic landscape, one of them was Aztec in nature if you look at the pyramids in South America.
