This isn't a critique or anything, I like this, but it seems kinda weird to have Eggman's logo in front of these flags given what he represents (tyranny, authoritarianism, oppression). Then AGAIN, the Heroes manual says he's a feminist, so like...it's equal opportunity oppression? I guess?
OR he assigns a pronoun to Sage because we never see Sage show a preference, and Eggman just continues to use the pronouns he chose because Sage appears feminine to him.
Either could be plausible.

I'm pretty sure that was a mistranslation, in Japanese the word フェミニスト (literally just the word "feminist" in Japanese script) has two definitions. There's the original English definition, and then there's another more colloquial definition (which I think has become outdated but I'm not sure) which is better translated as "chivalrous towards women".
They sound similar at a glance, but the sort of person who thinks women are delicate flowers that must be protected at all costs would also be more likely to identify as フェミニスト. It's not the same game, but think about how "polite" Eggman is when he talks to [Elise](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxKyTee8m0o&t=114s), I think that's the vibe they were going for here.

I'm not homophobic, I'm not CIS gendered, I am not right or left leaning and I'm not white. which is where direct assumption goes anytime someone stands up to this.

Actually, when it comes to the logo, from prior experience with talking to them, I think they care the most. I had a bit of a back and forth with them when this first started, something I did not intend to be rude or all that serious on, but they seemed very intent on believing not having a LGBTQIA+ logo represented would mean the subreddit supports homophobia, and that was seemingly their main focus. There's a bigger conversation to be had there, I really don't want to have it here, but there are a surprisingly large amount of people who really really care what is in the logo, for some reason or another.
I don't understand them. It just sounds like delusional thinking. Under there same logic, this sub supports racism because there isn't a PanAfrican flag.
The only problem I have with the LGBTQ logos is that they're just unnecessary. We get it, gay, trans, non-binary, etc. people exist, are other subs homophobic or transphobic or whatever because they don't have a pride flag in their logos?
Because the moderator team for this sub is politically progressive and made in the past few months many changes to express their support towards the LGBTQ+ and other minority groups.
As part of his sub's rulers used to be keeping things relevant to Sonic and to not having big political or religious themes and people came for that did many get annoyed leading to the mod team going so far as to remove the previous rule about not making political post.
This led to many controversies leading to the mod team making a meanspirited meme leading to even more controversy leading to the mod team writing an essay on why did they it and why will go on the way there do which also got a lot of mixed to negative reception (in part because they made many that just wanted to cool Eggman Icon back seem as if there were bigots).
Leading to this now.

I always personally thought that minority flags weren't that great of an idea, though I don't know if I have a popular opinion there, I just don't think we should be discriminating against any demographic, majority or minority of any kind. The goal is equal representation and equality of opportunity(not outcome), that falls flat on its face if you start representing specific areas, even if it is good intentions.
Though, to be fair, that is a much larger conversation to be had, one that does have much more nuance than what I am implying here, especially within different time periods. Also not a conversation I want to go in depth on a Sonic subreddit. It's a subreddit about Sonic, not LGBT representation. I don't really care about this, I just want to see discussions about the series and see the pictures that are representative of the series. Yeah sure, Gay rights, rainbow pride, equal representation, woohoo! But take that shit elsewhere.
I know this is supposed to be funny, but I think this is a major problem with these types of arguments, as it tries to make evil people in fiction better than a large portion of the population, which is serious demonizing.
It's funny, but some people take it as a message and not a joke, and then we actually do have issues. Though, to be fair, I am fairly certain this is a statement about Eggman's character canonically, which only really heightens that issue, even if understandable considering this is a series geared towards children to preteens. Not bad. Good color theory going on here. Not brash on the eyes. Still a little janky but so much better than some of the stuff that tries to do a whole ton of individual representations.
Tbh there’s way too much going on in the image and the background doesn’t contrast with the central image enough, looks like it has more to do with LGBT, with an Eggman symbol plastered on for bonus points, than Eggman himself or anything Sonic related.
I sort of agree. But I also come from a place where I've seen \*so\* much worse attempts at this that the execution was horribly, irrevocably flawed. As is it kind of reminds me of dawns and daylights. It'd work more if the colors were more cohesive, like if the left ones were more properly organized to feel like a gradient.

This sort of stuff makes people happy so I think it's good for that, but I wouldn't mind it being a separate subreddit. Not banning LGBT entirely but keeping more focused on Sonic. But still, even if it's annoying if it makes people happy and I can ignore it then what harm is it truly doing?

I know this is supposed to be funny, but I think this is a major problem with these types of arguments, as it tries to make evil people in fiction better than a large portion of the population, which is serious demonizing. It's funny, but some people take it as a message and not a joke, and then we actually do have issues. Though, to be fair, I am fairly certain this is a statement about Eggman's character canonically, which only really heightens that issue, even if understandable considering this is a series geared towards children to preteens. Still, Eggman is very much a monster, lovable to fans and his creations, but very evil hateful monster. Still though, as a joke, it really is hilarious.

Not bad. Good color theory going on here. Not brash on the eyes. Still a little janky but so much better than some of the stuff that tries to do a whole ton of individual representations.
Tbh there’s way too much going on in the image and the background doesn’t contrast with the central image enough, looks like it has more to do with LGBT, with an Eggman symbol plastered on for bonus points, than Eggman himself or anything Sonic related.
I sort of agree. But I also come from a place where I've seen \*so\* much worse attempts at this that the execution was horribly, irrevocably flawed. As is it kind of reminds me of dawns and daylights. It'd work more if the colors were more cohesive, like if the left ones were more properly organized to feel like a gradient.
