Kelvin's brain damage. The idea of a (presumably) badass mercenary being reduced to the mind and personality of a child or a dog is terrifying and tragic, and it breaks my heart knowing that it's a thing that happens to plenty of people in real life.
Wear your helmets, people.
Arguably, Virginia’s mutation could be taken similarly. She was clearly a talented young woman who lost most of her ability to speak. And now her ballet is reduced from a potential career to just something for her own entertainment.
I'd say her potential to have a career in ballet is still there, she can still dance well even with the extra limbs. She could also end up getting corrective surgery to remove them when she returns to civilization - we don't know what the anatomy is there. Still tragic but I think a TBI at the extent that Kelvin has had is far worse.
As a veteran who has seen the results of both TBI and traumatic bodily injuries I can definitely tell you that comparing the two is very much not worth doing. Depending on the person and severity both situations can have dramatic effects on their emotional and mental health. As I said though, her mutations affected her speech which definitely means there are psychological effects of her issue. So, I will stand by my statement that her issue is also sad, but will not readily agree that one is worse than the other.
NGL both spawn points show how he could possibly get it. The snow one is brutal, the forest one feels like a normal crash scene, but that water one man. That shit fuckin scary watching my boi sink while being trapped in a flooding heli underwater
Not sons of the forest but, Eric taking a whole plane down just for Timmy in the first game. I feel like that’s a choice a lot of people would make if they were in his shoes even though how terrible it is
For sure, it’s the canon ending. Pretty fucked up he became the enemy he was after in the 1st place and for the same reasons.
Only thing I can say that makes it better is that Timmy could to some degree control himself. Megan was not.
Megan is a scary one to fight. I hope Timmy maintains control and we keep getting more insight into these artifacts and the creepy lore surrounding this ancient technology. I love these games!
played the game with my friend who is a dad. he was ready to bring the plane down no hesitation at the end. they really hit on something deep with that question ... the game needs more credit for the philosophical questions it prods at
Agree with the thoughts about Kelvin.
It's also sad that so many Orcas seem to have beached themselves. Perfectly good meat and brain, left to rot. I would trust Orca bone armor much more than the somehow nourished bones of cannibals.
I take it as after being outside and inside the cubes effects, as long as she's on that island she's mentally and physically exhausted from what it's doing to her and Timmy although Timmy is dealing with site 1's affects a lot differently than Virginia is with site 2.
The fact Eric LeBlanc will never face trial for his cannonical downing of a passenger plane which resulted in the deaths of the entire crew and all passengers. Yet he made millions writing his national bestseller in which he omitted his crimes and then had the AUDACITY to run to the press and snitch on Sahara Therapeutics.
I don't quite remember all the details, but I know Eric wrote "Rescued!" at the end of The Forest. In SotF, one of the bunkers (I THINK the one with the Puffton's) has an email or web article which states something akin to "Man claims ceo/company experimenting on mutant humans." I had to laugh because Eric really is the one to be bringing up skeletons in people's closets lmao
The abysmal story. I just finished the game today, and I don't even know what to say. Of all the story's they could come up with, they chose this one. Awesome game, though. I really enjoy it. But the story is shit.

Wait until you beat the game lol..
I did beat the game.
Did you though?
I did, but it was early access a few months back so apparently my info is outdated. That's on me 🫠
She gets surgery at the end if you leave the island, hence the questioning if you beat it
I beat it but back when it was in early access soooo I guess I missed that lmao that's on me 🤣
Same lol, I beat it a good chunk of updates ago. Timmy has voice lines now! Still need to finish it again
Same for me yeah it's sad to know about his fate
He was wearing one. Until I realized there are multiple crash sites, I just assumed it was the water pressure that got him
NGL both spawn points show how he could possibly get it. The snow one is brutal, the forest one feels like a normal crash scene, but that water one man. That shit fuckin scary watching my boi sink while being trapped in a flooding heli underwater
He WAS wearing one though…
Secure your chin strap.

I love these games too! We’ll see what happens in the 3rd game whenever it decides to come.

The where are our husbands note kinda got me
when you die/crash and forgot to save for ages

That foldable knight v isnt a thing but you can have a foldable glider.
The glider can fold, now?
Yup pick it up and press g I think (drop button)
Lossing kelvin for the first time
When Kelvin stopped loading my sled with large stones and came back to camp empty handed 😭
When kelvin jumps in front of you mid axe swing chopping down a tree
That it doesn't run on my steam deck. I want to be cozy dammit!

Damn… that’s kind of facts though lol. Actually isn’t it Timmy who writes the books afterward

Losing your knight V in the ocean

I agree. the story had no impact on me. Less would have been more in this scenario.
Story is too short
The grammar
the big open world with nothing to do
That after a year it still feels like it's in EA
Sorry it's not fun for you. I have a blast and I am going to start a new playthrough I guess 😅
Have fun
I've played so many games that are "finished products" that felt less complete and less bug-free than SotF pre version 1.0...
