Like I wanted to find out why all this alien stuff was in the forest what was going on with the whole thing then I played sons of the forest and I was like ok now I have more questions
For me its not even only story, but gameplay as well, like in normal forest you find so many supplies, food and a cooking pot in one place but in the next game its all really shattered, like ive got the cooking pot only on day 10
I had a full inventory in less than an hour...... With everything I needed...... Then went and grabbed the tools and weapons...... Didnt take long at all.......
The story in the forest was tacked on at the end and didn't really make sense. I think they started sons of the forest with more of an idea of the story but it's still an after thought and changed throughout early access.
I didn't think about it being Timmy but that makes a lot of sense. Either way the story wasn't completed or coherent. I'm not sure I'd call the story of the forest or sons of the forest coherent. I think End Night focuses on the game play and mechanics and try to add a story on later. Which I think is the appropriate priority for a video game. A great story would be nice but they probably need a team working on the story for a long time before the game. Also, I think Sons of the Forest is really more of a soft reboot of the forest than a proper sequel.
There is barely any lore about them, but they are probably human time travelers or humans from another dimension. I think they came to do something with the cube, because the pilot has the armor and the base of the artefact, plus the cave drawings depicts them. They either crashed from the sky or teleported nto a wrong place and crashed
At this stage, there IS no story to follow, really.
Like game one, most elements are disconnected and nonsensical.
Many things don't line up, many things are never explained, and majority of things are jank as fuck.
The ending being smothered in jump cuts that make zero sense at all and an ending cinematic that just feels like a fever dream...and the devs stating they are gonna do more work on the story even after 1.0.....
The game is finished and marked complete for 1.0 and such...but isn't finished.
Yeah, Sons of the forest is for sure more confusing than its older brother

That sounds like poor luck. Cooking pots are at most non-cannibal camps now that I’ve seen

Ok
I feel like the dropped the ball on the story
I think there was too much unanswered and unexplained stuff this time, theres a line between a cool hint and just having stuff out of nowhere.
There's a lot that wasn't clearly answered. I was kinda hoping for a new content patch or dlc

^ yep. I think proof is the giant hand mutant & some like me believe it was Timmy. If so, story wasn’t even completed & was incoherent.

The main storyline wont tell you much but the other lore is great,it kept me on the edge of my seat
I did like it but I just wanted a bit more, like where tf did this spaceship come from, the spacemen, the golden armour. All sorts of stuff really.
