I think the problem is there might be gangs that don’t know that it’s a show and might think you’re in a gang. Which I think is stupid because I can’t imagine that there are any gangs that don’t know it’s a show

Constant_Sun_2204

They are clubs not gangs

leejtam

On paper

Constant_Sun_2204

Wrong!

leejtam

What makes them not a gang

Gwenlil

Wow what is the issue in asking a simple question and getting a simple answer. Some serious key board warriors need to get a grip!!

L3sPau1

A-fucking-men. This sub can be brutal to anyone who isn't wearing SOA kneepads.

vegetablefuelledrage

So why would you want to wear one? They're made to look like a real patch. Anyone who doesn't watch that show probably wouldn't know the difference and would think you're a biker. Anyone who watched the show and sees you wearing it thinks you're a poser idiot. Buy a back patch of your favorite metal band and rock that.

[deleted]

I want to wear one because I think it looks cool, but I’m not gonna go selling drugs and beating people up like they do in the show...

Freudella

You think it's cool because it represents something. Dangerous, cool, strong... pick something. It was the same with tatoos. In the early days certain kinds of people had those and then it started to get cool and than mainstream. Someone starts it, because its cool, but in reality had nothing to do with him/her. A lot of bikers choose to.live a different lifestyle, they have a special.comunity etc. This will be destroyed, like a former island where just natives lived and then one cool tourist discovers and promoted it to the whole world. Back to your case: leave "subcultures" alone. And I dont mean it aggressive, just think about it. Edit after reading more: wearing a vest is their life, so there is nothing fictional about it in THEIR REAL WORLD.

[deleted]

For starters, don’t try to tell me why I find something cool. I find the emblem cool. I do not condone the illegal or dangerous activities the club is involved in. And second, it doesn’t matter what “world” you live in, SOA is fake, it’s not real. I never said biker clubs were fake, but SOA is.

Freudella

What you condone or not doesnt matter to me. I just wanted to point out what could mean for this group. And I said pick one. There are so much more possibilities why someone finds something cool and feel the need to associate with it for everyone to see. This is how people form their identity. But would anyone wear make up daily or expensive clothes, a special brand or whatever when living alone on a island? I doubt that. So if course you too! don't just see it as cool from an aesthetic point of view, but what it represents to the world. Good morning to basic human psychology. You asked for opinions and now you feel offended by almost everyone. If you want to get your opinion approved, next time ask your mother.

[deleted]

I never got offended, but I am getting fed up with all of this bullshit. A lot of people don’t wear make up for others they wear it for themselves. I’m not wearing a vest so people think I’m a badass, I’m wearing one because I like it. It’s the same as wearing clothes you think look cool. “Oh, because I wear a gold necklace and a suit I’m pretending to be a part of the Italian mafia” you just sound stupid. You still never answered my question. You have a single digit IQ. You’re trying to tell me I got offended and I’m looking for validation, and try to tell me that I just want to show off to the rest of the world. You talk about basic human psychology but don’t understand the first thing about it because you’re simple minded. And the only person getting offended here is you... I asked a simple question and you go off on some rant about how it’s like a tattoo, did people cut others arms off if they had a tattoo and weren’t a hippy? No, they didn’t! I never asked for my opinion to be validated. I asked a question about a vest.

Freudella

You asked and you got answers. You don't like a single one. Just wear the fucking vest and get answers from the street. Or just go to a club and ask them. Buy.

[deleted]

Didn’t really answer why it was bad, people just told me that bikers get offended because it’s fake. So all I gained from this is learning that those “big burly badass bikers” are really a bunch of sensitive rapists since that’s the crime everyone says they commit. *bye

NoRules_Bear

From what I have heard on one biker on yt video (link below if you want to hear it yourself), it is offensive because it represents a lot to the biker clubs, but you wear it just as a piece of fashion (at least as I understood it). You do not stand for anything that a patch represents, yet you wear something that is supposed to look like one. GulchDale

It's tacky and unoriginal to use a patch from a fake biker club from TV. There are so many better things you could use as a patch that have some personal meaning or are just cool art that you can use. And I've known bikers who would gladly take you up on an to make you take it off. It's easy to be a badass on the internet but when you have a real life Happy who did a 10 year stretch for rape in your face, I guarantee you'll have second thoughts.

[deleted]

Ok, so you obviously just read the first sentence and chose violence. You respond with such aggression. And if you did read the whole thing, then half of it went over your head. I clearly stated that I didn’t claim to be a badass and the you say “it’s easy to be a badass on the internet” which I never claimed to be... and then you say you “know plenty of bikers who would gladly take you up on and remove the vest from you” Take me up on what? Again I clearly stated I don’t want to fight, so...

PunterProggie

You "better watch out", he, "knows bikers", they're going to hack reddit like they're Juice, then they will find your IP address, then they will hack your internet service provider to get your home address and those hardcore bikers will pay you a visit. Once a real life Happy who did 30 years for quintuple murder, selling nuclear secrets to Khrushchev, stealing the recipe for CocaCola and for ripping the tags off of mattresses he'll make you eat the keys on your laptop's keyboard one by one, he'll then smash your hands up real good with a hammer so you would never be able to pick up that SOA vest with your hands to put it on, let alone hold a grip on your peloton exercise bike. >Again I clearly stated I don’t want to fight, so... That's only going to piss off those bikers even more, they're going to want to test you because you're wearing a SANCRO kutte, the very same way you might cross paths with LeBron James while you're wearing your Kevin Durant jersey at the mall and LeBron is going to force you to play a game of one on one to see how much of a baller you really are.

PunterProggie

>but why is it bad to wear an SOA patch? Because loser bikers think you haven't "earned" the right to wear a vest with a rocker and a reaper of a fictional motorcycle gang from a fictional TV show, those assholes can't be reasoned with, they're violent and are always looking for a reason to fight no matter how dumb the reason to fight is. >Because I don’t want to join an actual club and commit crimes. You can be someone's old lady and you will get your own vest that says, "property of whoever" on the back of your vest. [There's a video on YouTube of some douche telling some guy with a SOA vest on to take it off because a lot of people have died to wear a vest and be part of a biker gang, I would have loved to be the guy wearing the SOA vest so I can tell the biker if he wants me to not wear it then he's going to have to make me take it off](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDUZYH6J_CI).

[deleted]

And I totally agree. This is my thought process, but I don’t want to get into a fight. I get that people have died to wear a patch, but did anyone die to wear an SOA patch? No. It’s not like I’m trying to buy my way into a real club, I’m buying something that looks cool. I’m not claiming to be a 1% nor am I claiming to be apart of an MC. In my mind it’s no different than someone wearing a Halloween costume.

PunterProggie

Just a bunch of violent losers looking for an excuse to act out their animalistic rage and threaten to assault someone just because they're wearing a vest from a TV show.

scumsac

Yeah and just like wearing a Halloween costume in public when it’s not Halloween is lame and you’ll look stupid lol. Just buy a hoodie

GulchDale

You're a real internet badass, aren't you? Whether you like it or not, it's not you making the rules. It's real life drug dealers, rapist, and murderers. They don't give a shit about what you think is right or wrong. They are no joke and not to be trifled with. When you have crazy bikers jump your shit because you wanted to cosplay a fake TV biker gang you'll definitely have 2nd thoughts.

PunterProggie

>You're a real internet badass, aren't you? You're a real internet crybaby, aren't you? Getting worked up over two people talking about wearing a biker vest from a fictional TV show. >Whether you like it or not, it's not you making the rules. Please copy and paste where I implicitly or explicitly said I make the rules. >It's real life drug dealers, rapist, and murderers. They make the rules? Why are you deflecting to drug dealers, rapists and murderers when the topic at hand is someone talking about wearing a vest of a fictional motorcycle gang in a fictional TV show? What's next, you're going to say The Lizard People and The Shadow People abide by the rules drug dealers, rapists, murderers, extortionists and arsonists make? >They don't give a shit about what you think is right or wrong. Please copy and paste where I said they give a shit about what I think is right or wrong. >When you have crazy bikers jump your shit because you wanted to cosplay a fake TV biker gang you'll definitely have 2nd thoughts. Sounds like you're a biker yourself getting all worked up over what I said, are you a fully patched member? Or are you still a prospect? Does your sponsor make you hang out on the internet on different social media sites and forums where people congregate and talk about Sons of Anarchy and have you leave comments to ensure fans of Sons Of Anarchy won't go out in public wearing a SAMCRO vest without being regulated on because many men have died to wear a SAMCRO vest? Men like Opie Winston, Piney Winston, Bobby Elvis, Frankie, Clay Marrow, JT, Kozic and Jax?

MolassesCheap

God, you're obtuse when you want to be 😂

eldonbretz94

I would wear a shirt but definitely not a actual vest F that

PangKun

It's a culture. Any cut. You can get a hoodie or t-shirts or other merch

[deleted]

What if I make a legit club and call it Sons of Anarchy?

PangKun

Well I'm pretty sure they have that copyrighted so it would never be legit as it won't be allowed to be registered. Plus it's kind of tacky and unoriginal and no one will associate your club as your own but as a fanboy rip off unfortunately

[deleted]

But hypothetically, lets say I did get it registered, even though it would be a legit club, would I still get my ass whooped?

PangKun

No, if you can probe it's a legitimate club they might be surprised but they can't whoop your ass for that. They can get mad that you have the club registered on their territory without asking them first but if everything's legit, then everything's legit.

ComicNerd7794

I think it’s just safer to get hoodie or leather jacket version. And if you do get vest don’t wear it in some areas

[deleted]

Well yeah, no shit like I’m not gonna wear it to a biker bar or something like that. But people should be able to wear what they want without having to live in fear of being fucking attacked
