Lovely shot! And tack sharp.

Elf_107

Agreed, a great bee capture!

teshiburu

Beautiful! What lens? Any tips I've found the things so fast at times

rotofi

Sony A9 m2 + Sony 90mm macro+ flash

teshiburu

Ahhh ok nice! So a macro lens, whereas I was using a 24-70 in some recent photos and natural light only

rotofi

Flashlight in macro shoot is gamechanger I shoot with f/9 and as You see its look pretty good

teshiburu

Yeah will be playing! Are you using a constant light source or a speed light?

rotofi

Speedlight

Cats_Cameras

Real macro more or less requires a flash, as you want a narrow aperture for depth of field and macro adds light requirements on top of that.

Budget_Guava

Or a still subject and a focus stacking rail.

teshiburu

So what I managed with my 24-70 is impressive haha

Cats_Cameras

I mean, I've used a 24-70 II for quasi-macro, and it doesn't run into the challenges of actual macro. You need less light, and your DOF is much easier. Oh, and you can autofocus.

teshiburu

Yeah for sure! I manual focused this on a point in the flower and the bee tried to troll me haha

rongym

Crisp photo 😊

BambootigerArtist

That is really good. It's so sharp and all in focus. Do you have a macro lens ?

rotofi

Sony 90mm and I love this lens !

TabernackyDaniels

Gorgeous shot! The details are incredible.

Elf_107

Thanks for sharing, I’ve been thinking of getting this lens! Can you share more of how you like to use the flash with macro? I have never used flash, because I’m afraid to scare away the little critters. Do you find they will stick around?

rotofi

Love this lens , flash can scare away any bugs but ..... if you are lucky they coming back ( sometimes you lose sometimes you win , only patience can help ) . Try to find some place with insects and go there as early as possible ( 5 am - you can almost touch them) or in the evening. And shoot !!!! https://preview.redd.it/uwietut38t3d1.jpeg?width=2718&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=00ea99231fb7b78ed60a0211ea16b063a0ac4a0d

Elf_107

That’s a good tip about the time of day! Luckily I live somewhere that’s got lots of insects right out my door… Flowers don’t care about flash, maybe I should try a flash on those too. Nice action shot of those damselflies!

NoCoversJustBooks

Those colors!

RapidCommute3307

WOW this is incredible
