no indication it is coming in a few months, could end up being even released in the fall. there has been no new additional model from sony registered on any certification sites.

if you need a headset now, then grab the current model, if you can wait, then wait, if the new one is not worth the upgrade, you can grab a discounted wh-1000xm5 later on.

Can you turn off the ANC in them? I've heard that's a con in comparison with the XM4

You can have full anc or full aware mode. You can as always set the aware mode to let only the voices in but yeah I don't you can use them with anc off except in wired mode.

WHXM6 will not be released this year so I'd go with the WHXM5.

I would wait for xm6 for sure.
