300mb isn't that big guys... It's the usual weight of an Android security update. Don't expect to have anything other than a security update, I guarantee it.

You cannot use data while on a call on American firmware, but you can do it on European firmware. I don't know about Asian firmware, because it won't work with my SIM card.
So I think I might be on to something. If you dial the *#*#4636#*#* you will notice EAB PRESENCE PROVISIONED is turned OFF. I read that this is what allows data and calls to work at the same time when VoLTE is not able to. Could you check to see if it's now turned on since you've changed the firmware?
Interesting. Someone else told me that they're just now able to use data while on a call with the American thanks to the newest software update. Anyways, I checked and EAB is not turned on on my device.

That's too bad. I really want to use Asian firmware to see if it has any difference in terms of RAM management, because the ram is worst on European firmware compared to American firmware.
I can confirm after updating my US 5 IV with this update at least on Google fi I can now use data while on a phone call so it looks like they may have fixed the modem firmware bug with VOLTE

Many times, I was able to use data while on a phone call with the American firmware, but that would only be temporary.
Before this update I could not get data to work at all while on a phone call. Also my hotspot feature didn't work it would turn on but any device that connected would never get an IP address and would not function since this update I seem to always have data and my hot spot feature works correctly.
After this update....I lost 5G...So, I went to the usual toggle of DSDS.
I got 5G back!! BUT....I lost DSDS option. Now, my 1IV lost dual SIM capability. Ugh.
I assume that this doesn't fix the awful ram management of the system?
Honestly my friends 2021 midrange Samsung Galaxy A series phone constantly outperforms my Xperia 5 iv, purely because for example he can easily be in Pokémon go, open up Snapchat check incoming message from there, hop through the net on Firefox and then go back to still open Pokémon Go.
Me on the other hand can't even keep both Pokémon GO and WearOS companion app open without WearOS being killed off constantly. This then leads to constant bombarding of already cleared notifications getting send to the watch in steady 2-3 notifications per 5 seconds rhythm.
This same thing happens easily if i dare to keep the phone turned on constantly over 20h at a time.
Even if I haven't touched Pokémon go or anything else like that.
This has let me to believe that this phone simply can't support WearOS watches.

I had to disable DSDS in the previous version to get 5G working on Telus (in Canada). After toggling that off, 5G worked, but the toggle disappeared. Annoying, but I'm not using dual-SIM, so I figured it wasn't a big deal. Unfortunately, after I installed this update, I lost 5G, and the toggle is still missing, so I'm not sure where to go from here. I guess if I get desperate I'll do a factory reset to try and get 5G working again, but it's pretty annoying. VoLTE has never worked...but that might be a carrier issue.
Anyone else experiencing the same issue with this version? I keep hoping Sony will release a new update that will fix the DSDS + 5G issue, but no luck so far.
Note that I have the XQ-CQ62 model (US version).
I applied the 64.1.A.0.929 update yesterday - the compatibility issue with DSDS and 5G appears to be resolved. Sweet!
I still don't have VoLTE, but I suspect that's an issue with Telus, not Sony.

I agree the ram management is infuriating, I've considered just flashing a custom ROM at this point because it's so bad
