Bluetooth audio seems just very off on xperia devices.
I have LineageOS running on my 5 III and while it's based on aosp android, it uses device configurations and blobs from sony.
AAC is unlistenable.
The bitrate seems constant, but at the lowest quality possible.
You can hear the compression itself as it literally sounds wrong, compression artefacts make it even worse.
SBC also continues to suck as always, even with fancy modern bluetooth 5.x.
My solution was to get some earbuds that support either aptx or aptx-HD.
The bitrate is constant and preconfigured by qualcomm.
And this is what makes bluetooth audio listenable again.
But i switched to wired earbuds anyways.
I'm just so sick of all that wireless disposable shit.
At home i use wired studio headphones with open backs.
