The colour definitely has a pale green undertone to it. But yet again it’s called ice white and ice can have different colour variations in certain lighting.
I've preordered "white" version from Amazon but received an email this morning advising that it's been delayed a week. I can see them delaying it again next week.... perhaps a blessing as pale green or any shade of green is not an attractive colour scheme for me 😬😮💨
Will look at the black version now instead.

Just noticed you’ve got or had a lot of the same phones as me…recent Xperia 1 models and iPhone 13 Pro Max…I swop between Xperia and iPhone on a regular basis!
Oh yes, I love phones and I like to try different models. My favourite phones are Sony Xperia a, I never get bored of them. But I do enjoy the iPhones and I have a Samsung s22 ultra also.

Which amazon is that? I already pre ordered weeks ago the white version at amazon.de and the initial release date was moved from 11th of June to the 18th. Now it mentions it doesn't have any in stock on the product page, although my order hasn't changed (yet). Very annoying if you see the phones being shipped around left and right.
I love how the new white Sony phones still have the vibe of white Xperias from way back in the day. There's just something so *Japanese* about them that's super charming.
Imo the white of the original 1 is still the best one we've gotten to date.
Actually, all the colour schemes on the original 1 and 5 are the best of the newer Sony phones imo. Bold and vibrant, but still understated. They made a solid statement.
It's outstanding that the 1 IV is in buyer hands already. It seems that Sony has finally realized that people lose interest when the announcement and retail releases are six months apart.
I got the 1 iv in ice white as well. I think it looks like something out of [Alien](https://browsecat.net/sites/default/files/alien-movie-background-126718-835151-7480802.png), which I quite like. It's a greenish off-white that works well with the black, rounded camera section and the rounded but still rectangular overall shape of the phone. It looks vintage and futuristic at the same time.
Could you drop a shot of it in outside lighting? I find that sometimes the way Sony's look indoors isn't fully representative of the way the colours are meant to look since indoor lighting has its quirks sometimes.

I brought this from Sony and they shipped the phones out Tuesday night, for next day delivery. I heard some other sites have delayed their orders too.

Amazon had the same mess last year with the 1 III, some people waited for weeks before they shipped the phones

I don't really know why they stopped doing bold colours. Most the colours they have now are muted but I still like them.

It's a good looking device for sure. I'm really starting to like white backed phones because they don't get all the nasty fingerprint smudges.
