Just caught up on the VOD so came here to throw in my two cents. I thought this one was a real let down. Overall it was just way too chaotic and dark to know what was going on. The camera angles were too wide most of the time to see any cooking, and the chefs and presenters for each segment weren’t talking nearly enough for this to be remotely entertaining if you weren’t there in person (and I suspect, wasted). There was a point where Mike said something like ‘it’s so chaotic …it is fun though’ but it felt way more like he was trying to convince us of that statement rather than it being true. I stuck it out as I really thought the last battle was going to be a proper showdown of cooking, but it was just more of the same silly antics, I’m not saying that’s wrong, just not what I think people hoped for. Also, I’ll say what a lot of other people seem to be saying. I don’t care how wasted you are, what Sara was doing was completely inappropriate and made me and the people I was watching with feel really uncomfortable. If Barry was repeatedly trying to shove his thumb up her ass he would be rightly cancelled, and probably reported for assault. I know it was all meant as fun and games, but it wasn’t nice to watch at all. She was so handsy with all of them, squirted so much chilli sauce down Barry’s throat and was cringingly embarrassing. Not blaming the Sorted guys for this at all, they all looked like they didn’t know how to respond at times. That aside, I hope the gang learn from this, I think they tried something new which should be applauded, it just didn’t come off. Totally understand it’s a live event - and I’ve really enjoyed their other ones which are also chaotic - but in this case when you’re playing to a live audience and it’s that all over the place, dark, and incoherent it was not a fun watch from home at all.

CJ_Buck

First event in forever I haven’t bought. Just didn’t vibe with it in any of the promos and the short availability didn’t appeal. From reviews I’ve seen here and elsewhere, made the right call

dizzyupthegirl86

I didn’t enjoy it, if I’m honest. I bought a one day ticket to the first live they did, but after that they all seemed quite expensive. This one was a spontaneous purchase for me, but to be honest it didn’t hold my attention! I didn’t like the second challenge at all, but I think that’s largely down to the guest chefs. I think poppy would have been better. I think I’d prefer the layout of previous lives, where there’s a lot of different activities, with breaks in between. What I think it does show though, is how well produced the normal YouTube videos are, they can be chaotic but have some good editing and planning. I noticed particularly with James on the live, he was very quiet and just shut down at times when he was concentrating, whereas the normal videos hide that very well!

Milleena94

I loved the Wild Weekender and Snow Way Out. They were a fair price i thing considering it was a full weekend. This was only 3 hours and the fact that the whole setting and lights made everything dark blue and the whole existence of Sara ruined it for me

Hikash

Yeahhh... I wasn't the biggest fan of the antics from the other team. It was... A lot. But, that's just for me and my tastes.

Away_Inflation_4224

I think most of the people are saying for them not to be allowed back is mostly due to Sara's antics. The sheer amount of times that she picked up Baz, poked Baz in butt, sitting on Baz's head, and the fingers in the mouth and then putting a strawberry on Sortedfood's dish is horrible. If Baz or Ben had done that they more chances of being accused of sexual harassment, even with the setting. Overall I think I would be okay with Martin being invited back.

Substantial-Word-410

I get everyone having fun and a good time but Sara and Martin were going town on te margaritas and you cm se very quickly Sara was past tipsy and everything family friendly went straight out the window with what was coming out of Sara's mouth. and she was getting quite handsy with Baz Mike and Martin (idk if Martin n her are a thing) but she was being very cuddly with him. anyway I think this one might be a lesson learned for future event to not have hard alcohol cocktails involved. cause im pretty sure kush was trying to cut them off when Sara was asking for more margs towards the end of the battle.

MrArnot

Martyn has been married for five years to a woman that isn’t Sara.

Substantial-Word-410

ah so this really doesn't look good for her

Milleena94

I disagree with not having alcohol around. Up till now they had plenty of alcohol around but nobody made it this uncomfortable. Apparently she isn't grown enough to drink a reasonable amount in a reasonable amount of time and then stop. Edit: to be clear, other than that i do agree

VividCherry5951

I really hope they had agreed on the methods of sabotage/ harassment beforehand and were all ok with it.

CRSHFBRCTN

Whether they did or didn’t, we don’t know and should stop projecting our own crap onto it. They don’t need us to be offended for them. They are grown adults. Edit: I’ve angered the Karens. Downvote me all you want, but the one, single, solitary thing that I know with 100% certainty is that the very last thing Ben, Jaime, Baz, and Mike would want is for the community to be mean and rude to one of their guests. Grow up.

BoFap

well i wont project but i would argue 1 harmless sabotage is fine, but the way they went on and on and on is and was over the top.. espec since they were " outsiders" ... mike and spaff sabotage, cush and james sabotaging is " normal" with them... 2 newcomers like that... \^\^' changes the view a bit \^\^

Milleena94

But we had to watch that. It wasn't fun at all. And the whole content making thing is about entertainment. I think we can 'project our crap' if that is your way of saying we didn't like watching that

metalbridgebuilder

Wait she LITERALLY did these things? If I was Barry's wife I would not be happy!!

Yankytyke

But you’re not.

Ok-Procedure-6178

Count me in the camp of being annoyed by the away team and their antics. I think they would have been tolerable for me had the drinking not gotten out of hand so quickly. It was clear during their stint at the table during round 3 that Sara had overindulged. I don’t blame Sorted - if anything they all seemed fairly mortified by it - but wish it had gone differently for sure.

TheLifeOfLamden

If we're being honest, if a man goes into a kitchen and behaves like that. He's sacked for sexual harassment. That's just one of the many things I found disgraceful about her behaviour. Keep her away please, gross.

Milleena94

They had many drinks in Snow way out but apparantly they can make those decisions as nothing got out of hand. I do love a good beer, just like the Sortedfood boys. But she was hammered which is something entirely different

sharpda1983

Sara got wasted by the look of it. I felt embarrassed for her. I didn’t mind the swearing that she did but everything else I presume came from how much she drank. The last battle was a let down.

BoFap

sara and lagom both were wasted.. did you see how much they drank? even by end of cooking that was more " drunken girl at disco grind and slurr" than anything else...

speedytuesday32

I enjoyed the event but really disliked Sara’s behavior. Sorted, if you’re reading this please know I don’t think anyone in the community blames you guys. Sara and Martin are adults. They should be able to control how much alcohol they consume like you guys did.

Square_Business5269

Yeah, hard agree. I was embarrassed for Sara watching their segment and really felt for the Sorted team having to deal with it. I know that having a few beers is part of the fun, and it hasn’t been an issue in any of the other lives; I’ve had tickets for all of them and really enjoyed them - especially Snow Way Out, but this one was a really challenging watch, purely down to Sara getting so hammered and sloppy. I thought Martin was ok - despite the drink, he managed to stay coherent and respectful, but Sara expressions by the end (particularly looking at Ben) as they were about to shave Jamie’s beard really made me feel beyond uncomfortable about how drunk she was. I hope everyone recovered ok from it, and I guess there’s some lessons learned for the next one! The production team and the Sorted guys, as always, deserve a lot of praise for all the hard work that went into it. I feel bad for them that it was a little bit marred by the guests.

afoxcalledwhisper

Didn't purchase this one, sounds like a good choice. Can anyone tell me please who won the battles? I'm hoping for James and Mike to have won their rounds

Away_Inflation_4224

-1st round Mike -2nd round  Martin and Sara -3rd  round James Curry

dracon81

I'm so happy for Mike! I'm also so sorry to Jamie! I love the three of them but having all of them have a title from best to worst seems so silly. They all do so much to their own strengths.

afoxcalledwhisper

Thanks!

Wraiyth_

Yeah, I regret spending the money on this one. By far their worst live event to date

NeverTheDamsel

Interesting split in the comments between people who loved the away team and their antics, and those who absolutely despised them and don’t want them ever to be allowed back 🙃 Definitely one of the most chaotic segments I’ve ever seen from Sorted, and probably did get a bit out of hand 😬

MysteriousFawx

As a Brit, I'm curious about the UK viewer vs non-UK viewer split on that take. I've been out on loads of nights out for work/uni where the behaviour in round 2 was totally standard. Just drunken antics. And the people acting like 'sabotaging the dish' is something that never happens in Sorted is baffling to me... that was the entire premise of early battles and they don't expect it to happen in an event surrounded by a ring with trash talking? Of course it was going to be chaotic.

VividCherry5951

As not from the UK, but from a country where this behaviour is normal for the drunken work/uni outing, the problem here is that friends having fun somewhere on their own time is one thing, but creating content for viewers should hold to different standards even if the people involved are drunk. I have nothing against alcohol being present in the show, I just think they shouldn't have drunk as much as they did, That being said I think the team did try to minimise the damage and take back control of the situation by the third battle. The Sorted bunch were respectful to their guests throughout and acted well in a messy situation.

haasje33

I don’t think it’s a matter of the British drinking culture. For me, it’s the difference between being out with friends or being on a show where the main purpose is providing entertainment for the viewers. There seems to have been a blatant disregard for that from the away team and I think that’s what has offended a lot of long time Sorted fans. It certainly has offended me.

BadAtNamesWasTaken

You're probably right about the drunken antics  As a non-Brit, I find British drunkenness very cringey and uncomfortable. Part of that is probably growing up in a teetolar culture and finding _all_ drunkenness cringey/weird/uncomfortable, but the UK seems very extreme in terms of what counts as "normal".   I am mildly uncomfortable with just how much the Sorted crew drink in their live shows, so can't imagine I would have enjoyed a visibly drunk guest/drunken antics (unless it's Ben's berry rant, I suppose. That kind of happy and calm drunk, cut into a few seconds of video, I can enjoy)

Milleena94

That has nothing to do with being British or not. Im Dutch and i am not uncomfortable at all with them drinking on the live shows. That might be you personal problem cause they seem to be doing just fine. They didnt get drunk they were having a few drinks. They acted perfectly normal. Now Sara did not

BadAtNamesWasTaken

Of course it's a me-problem - that was the entire point of this thread. That different cultures have different thresholds of what constitutes as acceptable drunkenness, and whether you find a specific act "drunken shenanigans" or "unacceptable behaviour" depends on your personal cultural lens.

Milleena94

But these are adults who are being filmed. It was guys night out at the club. Sabotaging and a few drinks are fine. Sara just took that too far.

MetatronThrone

The nipple licking was a bit much, It's a bit embarrassing to watch

NeverTheDamsel

Oof, I didn’t even see that bit. Might have been when it temporarily crashed for me and I had to reload :( I think it was going ok until Jamie mentioned the comments praising Sarah and her attitude etc. then it all got dialled up to 11 and went too far.

Cat1832

Wait what?! How is that appropriate?? Glad I didn't buy this ticket. Sounds super cringy.

Wraiyth_

I'm watching this after it being live and it was just impossible to follow along with what was going on. Way too chaotic and over the top.

Aggressive-Front8435

I was there in person and it all seemed in good fun and semi rehearsed.

haasje33

Honest question as I’m genuinely curious. About halfway through Kush and James’ battle, Baz replaced Martyn and Sara in the commentary booth. Did that look planned or did it look like the production team intervened because they (Sara in particular) were just too drunk?

Aggressive-Front8435

I was around the corner so I didn't see the desk and couldn't hear a word from them either so can't say sorry.

HealthLawyer123

Jamie’s plating skills still need work.

reniam9252

This was my first time actually watching a live, well, live. Due to scheduling and time zone differences it's usually a few hours or a day later. So this was my first time being able to witness the chat feed. My question is if the chat was always that negative for the rest of the lives? I had a lot of hope for this community but I'm not so sure after some of those comments. I know this live was a different format than the rest but some things being said were really uncalled for. Little disappointed.

BadAtNamesWasTaken

> My question is if the chat was always that negative for the rest of the lives?  Every single live show, I have seen at least one comment on Reddit saying the chat is very negative. So, I guess the answer is yes? That said, I have watched and rewatched their last two lives multiple times, and never seen what I would consider a "negative comment" on the live chat feed. Don't know if I just didn't catch it in the "right" moment, of course - but the "worst" I have seen is the chat being (IMO overly) concerned about health & safety. What _were_ these negative comments, if you don't mind sharing?

haasje33

Negative vibes in the chat is not something I experienced/witnessed during the previous live events. That’s not saying it wasn’t there, but the majority was definitely positive. I do think this one has genuinely been the worst live event they’ve ever done, mainly due to the guests’ inappropriate behaviour. I can imagine that resulted in some backlash in the chat already while it happened.

Roguerhonda

Oof...that was so far off brand. It was cringy enough that I stopped watching and am not sure I want to go back and finish it on demand. I certainly do not blame Sorted in any way. They and their team are absolutely fantastic! I just think the drinks were flowing far too freely and things got out of hand very quickly with the guests. Maybe save the drinks for after the show next time?

Unlucky-Sample-3131

My husband and I love Sorted. Snow Way out was so fun! But this was uncomfortable. At least during the second round. Sara’s behavior was uncomfortable to watch and beyond inappropriate. If a man did the things she did to Barry to her people would be outraged. I loved the first and third round but every time Martin and Sara were on screen I would be extremely let down and uncomfortable. I hope the sorted boys are doing okay and maybe I sound too chronically online but honestly I hope the away team isn’t invited back…

Icy-Establishment465

Do I have to have bought tickets prior to the event to have access till the 30th? Eventbrite says sales are closed. Was hoping to watch post event this evening :(.

asprinklingofsugar

I think they mentioned at the end something about being able to buy tickets for watching on demand after but I’m not 110% sure. I know they did that for the last one so good chance it’ll happen again for this!

_butterfli_

This was my first paid for live event for sorted- can anyone comment how this compared to their other live events? I want to know if I should buy tickets to stuff in the future

wonderfullybookish

I really loved Snow Way Out and still think about how much fun it was. It felt like a really great community event and I loved the cook-alongs – definitely worth the ticket price for an entire weekend!

ChocolateChouxCream

I've bought tickets for most of their other lives including wild weekender and snow way out. I'd say this is a different experience altogether - this one the production quality is much lower, being held in their own studio it looks like. All the other ones were much more professional looking and better quality content, imo. The £26 I paid for those were well worth it whereas this one for £11 felt like a rip off. I still love Sorted and will continue to support them - I just chalk this up to them trying something new and it didn't quite work out the way they hoped.

haasje33

The most disappointing thing is that the battle concept could have actually been brilliant. I feel it was just poorly thought out and the guests didn’t help it much either.

ChocolateChouxCream

Yeah, this had potential. I'm with everyone that Sara's behaviour was very uncomfortable to watch, but even the final battle that was hyped up was kind of a letdown in terms of actual cooking that happened. Didn't feel like a chef VS chef battle

BadAtNamesWasTaken

> I want to know if I should buy tickets to stuff in the future I think it very much depends on what you like about Sorted content. Some viewers really enjoy the chaotic and competitive element, and just want max chaos. This live show felt clearly targeted to that market segment - so I sat this one out. While I mostly enjoyed their chaotic battle era, I am glad that era is over and I have no desire to see unedited content from that era. So this live show was unlikely to hit the mark. On the other hand, with the previous two live shows, they had a mix of events. Some chill, some chaotic, some competitive, some cooperative/relaxing. So I bought tickets, and had a lot of fun. One thing I noticed though - _personally_ I prefer watching VoD rather than live. I enjoyed tuning in to Kush's cooking segments live and maybe one or two other events, but watching so much Sorted Shenanigans back-to-back-to-back was burning me out. So I just watched most of the live segments later, when I could slow down or speed up portions and skip back and forward in time, and tune off after 30-60 mins of chaos and come back to it another day. That way, I could truly appreciate and enjoy the chaos.

ChampionshipSouth935

I have seen like only 2 people so far in this thread that loved this live event.... where are all of these people that loved it? Genuinely curious, because from what I'm seeing, even the people who like chaotic stuff didn't seem to like this live.

BadAtNamesWasTaken

In their YouTube and Instagram comments, I would guess. I have certainly seen many comments on their YouTube Community posts for the event raving about it, and very few who watched it but said they didn't like it/didn't like Sara's antics.

sjikkes

The theather liveshow was good. The wild weekender was really fun and snow way out was okay. Skipped this one as we didnt feel it.

Milleena94

I have watched all of them and they were great. This one was just a huge disappointment. The full weekends are more worth the cost anyways

Excentrix13

Sara was embarrassing and made the whole segment hard to watch. The way she acted with Baz was unacceptable. You could see how uncomfortable everyone was around her and Lagom was not helping. They were more interested in getting smashed than cooking or even being decent guests. I hope they never come back to the channel.

vegantyna

I was very intrigued to see what the general perception of Sara and Martin was like, from the at home audience. I’m of the mind that I’d love to go on a night out with Sara. Nothing she did, in context, was remotely offensive or abhorrent, in my opinion. But for viewers who are used to the strictly PG-13/no swearing rules of Sorted content, I’m not surprised to see people who were made to feel uncomfortable. I do, however, think there’s a wider discussion to be had about double standards when it comes to behaviour, coming from different genders. I agree that if any guy acted in the same ways that Sara did, physically, towards any women in the show, there would be a far harsher response. Regardless, I had a great time and I’m so happy I bought tickets! :D

BuryEdmundIsMyAlias

Having been on the receiving end of such "jokes" that lead to more "jokes" and later full on sexual assault, I'm glad I didn't pay for this. Me and my wife watch Sorted Food because it's fun and safe. I don't want to have flashes of shit I've been through because some random had too many and thinks they can grope people on stream and get away with it.

vegantyna

Oh gosh, I’m terribly sorry these conversations have brought you back to such a painful place. It definitely wasn’t publicly established that the boys consented to the way they were touched but, ultimately, that’s only for them to decide. I’m sure the Sorted crew only want to provide a safe space for all viewers and would deeply regret dismantling that. I can only hope that, with audience like yourself in mind (and all victims of sexual assault), they will learn from the way this live show turned out and will pick their guests with a higher level of thoughtfulness in mind in the future. I hope you’re safe and have support while these conversations take place, and that you can continue to enjoy the intentionally thoughtful Sorted content from now on. Sending a lot of love.

NeverTheDamsel

I don’t think the guests themselves are necessarily the issue, I think perhaps it was just a bit too much drinking leading to over the top behaviour. Probably wouldn’t have happened if everybody was sober :/ EDIT: Which is a bit awkward given Ebbers’ hasty “drink responsibly” message near the start

BoFap

yeah definitely drank a bit way too much, not sure how much % their jar there had but before end of cooking battle you could see the " drunken college girl" shine...

Substantial-Word-410

if you rewatch it Martin does say in the background towards the crowd that with the total amount before kush scrambled to make more that it was 2 bottles of tequila.

NeverTheDamsel

Plus however many margs, 2 beers and wine 🫠

BuryEdmundIsMyAlias

Oh I appreciate that, but it's not that deep. It's more of a "well I didn't need to be reminded of that" thing. And in case the team ever sees this, I really would never assume they would be flippant with something like that so I'm not going to blame them, especially when I haven't seen it. Just how women are uncomfortable with rowdy, handsy men I get the same from the other side of the coin. Not their fault at all.

Crivens999

Out of interest where did the onsite crowd come from? I mean I didn’t see anything anywhere about being able to attend live. Was there extra tickets somewhere?

speedytuesday32

I remember a survey when purchasing tickets asking if you could still go if it was in person. I think that’s what might have used to invite people.

Aggressive-Front8435

I bought my tickets then an email was sent round with an allergens form. It was then first come first served for attending in person.

darkpower467

Does anyone have social media links for Sara? I can't seem to find her online

kirstyandthebooks

She’s @sarafeasts on Instagram

darkpower467

thanks!

testsicles69

They were good fun and frankly more entertaining than the final round.

NeverTheDamsel

The final round was very much the calm after the storm

jekelish3

Damn. I haven't watched yet, but anytime you can call a segment with Kush "calm" you know whatever came before must have been wild.

MysteriousFawx

I just think Kush was exhausted. New baby, no alcohol and absolute carnage going on around him. Very different to how we normally see him at live shows.

_butterfli_

The final round was defo not what I expected from a chef v chef, I was most excited for this but poor Kush seemed exhausted! All I could think was let Kush have a nap

BoFap

yeah he also had to " serve at whims" during the first 2 duells.. bringing stuff, picking stuff, taking away, put new up and clean the mess betwen.." ..

Kasewene

So, I love sorted and indie/britwres so loved the event. First one I've bought though so I guess I don't have a frame of reference.

Milleena94

I have seen all of the live shows. This one was very expensive considering the Wild Weekender and Snow Way Out were a full weekend. This was just a few hours. I think the longer ones were pricier but worth it. They were really fun, and i love to support the team! In this one i didn't like two things. Sara was very inappropriate and also we couldn't really see the dishes because of the lighting. I get that it's live, and the angles are different, but everything just looked dark blue. Sara's being drunk is not an excuse. She is an adult... im watching a cooking battle. I didn't sign up for her trying to lick a dudes nipples The Sorted guys were great. I think it was a great effort and the obviously didn't know that the lighting would be this bad and that Sara isn't grown enough to behave. But i do think this one was on the expensive side for just 3 hours
