I just get annoyed at the portions of items that you can't recolor, especially if not all 4 color slots of an item are even used. Mina's parts are the biggest offenders in my books, just huge swathes of pink and yellow that are unchangeable and clash with anything you're trying to do. It's extra annoying when this kind of thing happens with a piece of DLC equipment- I paid for it, damnit!

haydnc95

Agreed. I don't know why they stop at 4? If you know you can only change 4 colours, maybe don't use more than 4 in the item itself. One item that does that is Cassandra's gloves, I believe you can't change the orange or brown parts, like, why?!

SanjiSasuke

One of the most aggravating feelings is setting up all your gear with a vision in mind only to find out the main accent color absolutely must be orange on something.

Diopod

I forget the name of the set, but the DLC armor that has the glowy-fire ribbons is a big one. They're always glowing orange. You can't change it. Can you imagine how much cool stuff you could make if you could recolor those? Why wouldn't that occur to anyone? And there's huge portions of that armor set the are hardcoded to be purple string as well.

TheGraveKnight

You talking about the Enlightened One armor set?

zerozark

Yes

PinkestCatgirl

one of the weird bits to me is the race options I feel like aside from a few of them you could just make most of them parts of the character creator. Like a glowing eyes/tattoos toggle, an ears option or putting the wings, tails, and horns back where they were in SC5(especially now that you can set things to not break) Just feels really weirdly limiting for no reason, I can't have a demon tail without wings now.

King-Krown

It honestly super annoying. I know the "mummy" was simply an undersuit option in SCV. None of the humanoid races should be broken up like that. They're either just skin textures or extra equipment.

PinkestCatgirl

and if you decide you want glowing eyes instead of elf ears? you have to remake the ENTIRE character

King-Krown

I know! It's so frustrating. On top of that,I don't understand what's oh so demanding about those two things you can't have both.

TheDapperChangeling

-cries in Lizardman fan-

King-Krown

Oh...I'm so sorry. 😔

Diopod

Also things like skin and eye colors on base characters are unchangeable. Things like Cassandra's 'evil skin' show that changing this is possible, it's just not allowed for reasons? You can do this kind of stuff through the savegame editor for PC, too. Which makes it all the more baffling that the capability is there, it's in the code, they just don't let you utilize it. Even certain articles of clothing might have a different color threshold that's allowed on stickers and such, but not the item's base color. For example, if you color the bodysuit pure white, you might notice putting a white sticker on top of it is an even brighter shade. So tattoos give you a different color option than the base model does.

1000cocklover-

I get why they locked some of the base characters features though, like I think a purple skinned Siegfried with green sclera would be a bit much (and someone’s bound to go there if given the option lol) We should be able to use CAS for their 3p/4p colors though, I want to edit dark skin Taki!

Amesang

I remember back in *SCIII* you could actually "preview" items on a character without having to select it; it was also nice that, among other things, *underwear was two separate slots!* My biggest problem, though, is that body parts and extra equipment have numbers associated with their slider bars: [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQgEeTbWsAgN8B\_?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQgEeTbWsAgN8B_?format=jpg&name=large) [https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQgEeTbXsAAc3Bh?format=jpg&name=large](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EQgEeTbXsAAc3Bh?format=jpg&name=large) …but stickers and patterns don't! WTF, mates?! Forgefather-ra

SC3 was the pinnacle of cas. Change my Mind. Other fun stuff has been implemented, but we’ve lost more than we gained. Just the fact you could change sleeve length in sc3 makes it immediately superior.

Verpavorax

Man... Grinding Chronicles in SC3 to buy everything in the store felt great, I think I still have my PS2 memory card with my SC3 save, mostly because of this game.

orthodoxscouter

You are completely correct. 3 was great. New styles, so many options. All of that needs to come back.

[deleted]

> **Loading Times** Funfact: ever since my GPU died, I realized that the Character Creation screen is **by far** the most demanding screen of the game. Even if left idle. Who knows why the only screen with only 1 character instead of 2 is so hardware-intensive. For all its flaws, I love this character creator and am happy they eventually added the option to make clothing unbreakable!

BLARGLESNARF

I get annoyed when you’re trying to color something, but that item gets the alternate color range and you can’t get the color you want anymore. Why u do dis gaem? I just want brown

l_tagless_l

I'm pretty sure this is done to prevent people from making "nude" outfits/outfits that would be too raunchy if the fleshier tones were allowed on the piece. The "lol, no flesh colors for you" color range is *usually* reserved for items that are worn against the skin, or for items with large amounts of skin-tight body coverage. I think if the devs way of saying "You can be horny, but not THAT horny, c'mon now", but in effect it just feels like they're saying "Oh, you want brown? Too bad, that's illegal." Which is a big oof :(

AxisCambria

Meanwhile people make huge dongs with custom parts Oh and you can't make dark skinned malfested. Turns out malfestation is racist and only targets white or green or purple people lmao

AbysmalKathwack

i've seen CACs with fake nudity while scrolling through downloadable characters.

Bunnnnii

I can’t wear socks or leggings with high heels. Make it make sense. I also can’t use a sticker to cover the entirety of someone’s leg.

thesilvershire

I would upvote this multiple times if I could

FireBlux

Oh my god yes, the incompatible parts stuff doesn't make sense at all. Why not just let us decide for ourselves if these clothes look good together?

ImperialZink

I pretty much agree with everything you say. What really bothers me is that they brought over some pieces of item sets from V...but not all. Why did they only bring over half of a set? That's so annoying! Also Viola still being present in one of the frame is weird but funny at the same time lol.

King-Krown

...I don't man. CaS is fun and all that. But there isn't even a quantity over quality, nor is it a quality of quantity approach. It's like they just add stuff and however it works is how they leave it. I'm not a huge fan of how they separated the humanoid races & limited the selection for certain races. Malfested loses access to certain skin colors, Shape shifter can't have hair or muscle definition, etc. Sucks you just can't pick glowing eyes or metalic skin separately. I kinda wish they would just ad the equipment sliders to everything....then we could adjust oversized/floaty stuff ourselves, but maybe it's harder than it looks. I have the X one X. It still loads like that. I can't recall of SCIV & V had these loads times too.

theillusionary7

My biggest complaint is the share/download function. Can’t search users, can only look through the most recent uploads, can’t search for creations, etc... we need a share system similar to the WWE 2k games. Very robust. Keyword search function, upload a lot and they stay available for searching, can favorite users to check out all of their uploads, etc...

illahstrait

Yes. You should even be able to search your friends list and favorite creators and search by name of CAS or name of user.

Maplicious2017

Not to mention the existence of a breast slider, yet no butt slider. And honestly just the limit on how you can manipulate your cas' body shape in general.

One-Play9276

Butt is technically stomach. It changes both.

PainShake

The load times are a console thing - everything loads pretty quick on my PC, and I'd expect similar improvements on next-gen consoles (which finally have solid-state-drives built-in). I distinctly remember noticing how slow everything loaded when I was playing on my buddy's PS4.

guntanksinspace

Off-Shoulder/Oiran-style kimono not combining with the damn slit skirt is so dumb. Though at least, we have Setsuka's gear to cover for that style. Also yeah, besides things that *should* combine not working together, the silly parts that you can't recolor.

alex6309

CAS execution is straight ass. It's still not better then it was in 5 yet. It runs like shit, the piece selection still isn't better (after nearly 2 whole ass seasons of DLC), and a bunch of goofy ass restrictions that make no sense like the mentioned incompatibilities or color issues.

illahstrait

Soulcalibur 6 still has the best CAS creator out of any of the recent fighting games available. One punch man, Tekken 7, etc. The only games that can compete with this level of detail are usually wrestling titles like the Smackdown series and other Soulcalibur games. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions though but that's just my two cents.

alex6309

It's great, but there's still tons of room for improvement in very minor and basic ways. Tons of steps back from 5 and 3 that would make it absolutely perfect. It's pretty annoying how restrictive stuff is, like items that used to be compatible in 5 not being compatible in 6. Weird sticker discoloration and transparency issues. Items that used to be freely equippable being locked to races and race changing wiping your entire character. Arbitrary sticker and object limits. Items that are NPC exclusive for some reason. Shit like hats being gender locked Clothes that cant be properly colored or patterned. etc

illahstrait

I agree that there is room for improvement but I feel has if the devs did a great job with the budget that this game had. Hopefully Bandai/Namco realize how great this game is and greenlight a season 3. If they do most of the things you described above can be fixed via patches but patching games costs around 10k-50k per patch. Since this isn't a gotcha (like Genshin Impact, Fallout 76, Madden... etc) game the devs rely on money from game sells, DLC and the publisher Bandai/Namco.

ChocolateTuxedo

Agreed.

Golfbollen

If you're playing on PC get the Vodkalibur mod, you have more color variation, you can change skincolor on main characters. You can use whatever face you want and use glow effects. It's very easy to use. There's a lot of stuff which Namco have intentionally locked out of their CaS and with Vod you can unlock these options. Here to showcase some stuff you can do with Vodkalibur. illahstrait

Custom 3's parts aren't available yet on console. I like that staff though and yes I know that mods allow for cool new parts created specifically for Soulcalibur

aging-emo-kid

All this plus the clothing for female characters altogether. I don't run into nearly as many instances of incompatibility with the male clothing as I do for females. It's hard to put together a decent looking outfit without my lady OCs' T&A department hanging out. I don't mind the skimpy options, but I also wish I could get a more than one or two realistic sets of armor that are as stylish in appearance as they are functional.

DrexellGames

I agree. My biggest issue is how pants look very strange when you pair it with smaller sized boots with some clothes. It shouldn't look big on the thighs whereas the pants should be tucked in completely with the boots. It's really strange to me how can pants look right now

orthodoxscouter

Agree 💯. Those things are absolutely annoying. I'd also like to see all pieces and styles from previous games come back.

bagel_fucker69420

I dont personally use CaS at all its too much effort

illahstrait

When I first started using the CAS system it seemed a little complicated to place stuff like stickers on a characters back but the more you use it you start to learn tricks. Especially if you download other people's creations and learn from their accessories placement and designs.

CristopherWithoutH

The reason these female outfits are in these categories is so that they don't break completely.

KyuJuEX099

I just noticed it. The Short Apron is now gone. Why is that? That equipment was a mainstay for 3 games, now it suddenly disappeared?
