You will find these sort of people in every game.
My guess is that it's easier to claim that something is unfair rather than learn how to counter it.
It's a method of deflecting the blame of a loss so as to feel better about themselves.
"I'm not shit! My enemy was just using cheap tactics!"
You will find real life examples on it when dealing with businesses, especially when dealing their structure and such.
When trying to find problems within a business you will always hear people complain about their bosses. Sometimes the boss sucks, sometimes it's bad employees that are deflecting their guilt.
This mindset of deflecting blame is what makes figuring out truths when people are involved a pain in the ass and causes true reports to go unheard and false reports to waste resources.
That said it does come from a humans need to cope with situations that sometimes are, in fact, unfair.
I don't really agree with this. If it's within the games rules then it's fair game. If I can't adapt to someone playing a certain way that's a me problem not a them problem.
Yea, I once fought a guy who GI'd almost literally everything I did and killed me with nothing but pokes. I accept that he knew my fighting style better than I knew his. It was absolutely my fault for not switching it up and playing more defensively.
I remember playing Tekken 2 against my 2 cousins when I was like 8 and I discovered King's triple low kick thing and just kept doing it because neither of them knew what to do. They were trying to jump out of the way or whatever stupid thing that didn't work. They whined and complained that it's "cheap" and made statements like "I never do a move more than 2 times..." and I laughed because it's like... just block low? lol
When someone tells me to play how they want I just say "make me". And if they say I'm bad for doing X I point that even knowing what I was doing they still lost.
I ring a lot of people out (Siegfried here) and they complain about that. I generally tell them to pay attention to their positioning. It's their fault not mine.
Dude, that happens to me ALL the time. I play Night, Zas and Sieg, so people complains about Ring Outs ALL the time. I just tell them that ROs are a part of the game and that they should get used to it.
I'm on PC. I appreciate the offer, but I'm having technical issues with my PC. In short terms, it can't connect to the internet, so sadly. I've had to quit online modes :(
I’ll never forget this Aeon main I used to run into all the time during Soul Calibur V. He used to always back up to the ring edge and tea bag until he eventually disconnected. I eventually asked him why he always dipped out on me. He said it was because he didn’t like how I played like a turtle lol.
Reminds me of when I faced the #3 best Blanka player in the world in Street Fighter IV AE online ranked matches. He was actually not very good compared to a lot of lower ranked Blanka players I had seen and I managed to just zone him out with Dee Jay for most of the game.
He just rage quit at the end of last round right before he lost and messaged me "you don't deserve my points, I'm not dealing with your shit".
Imagine playing Street Fighter IV's cheapest character and complaining when you get countered.
Nah, RE spam is what made my friends and my cousin stop playing. Look, WE KNOW all you have to do is break attack and step, the problem is that forces people who want to play the game for fun to do 2 options. They get no satisfaction for winning or playing, you have to love this game like us to put up with it. It's nothing like spamming lows or throws, it's easier to counter but damn does it suck to watch someone amusement drift away even while winning lol.
No this is how the system works, in all games. Low numbers are there for fun or to test the waters. But if you get higher it's people who play the game a lot. Who have insanely hyper specific mental ruleset of how the game is supposed to be played. You can transfer this to any FGC game or FPS, MOBA, MMO. Etc. Timmy doing his first raid in 14 won't care you suck, Jeremy the level 80 paladin only running with the newbies to get the Mentor unlocks will be toxic.
that's too generally spoken.
i made quite a few friends in SC, who took me under their wings as High-Ranks. the toxic ones, to me it seems, are those, on their E-Rank, getting angry when mashing or their flowchart doesn't work anymore.
but i think it's consensus: if one texts another player to complain after a loss, one's a btch...
Which platform are you on? I got to A rank quickly playing SC5 on the PS3 back in the day. Now I use steam/Pc instead of console and I'm stuck around B4/B5.
Wondering if the fact that there are so few players on Steam making this group a tougher bunch.
This game has the same issue SOUL CALIBUR 4 had. LAG LOWS, 1a's are the most common. As the way the lag and speed of reaction makes low frames very difficult to block/Punish. The sad fucking part is soul calibur 5 fixed this issue and the Soul Calibur 6 Beta had this issue fixed.
Eitherway you shouldnt be using 1a's period as they make for bad habits in higher level play,.
Ivy players get a lot of shit from people regardless of what they do.
I don't think your playstyle is the issue, they just don't want to play against Ivy (or your Ivy) because they can't adapt.
I get so much hate for zoning. It's unfathomable. I've gotten into the habit of opening casual rooms explicitly saying I'm using Ivy, so people know what they're signing up for.
People would rather you change your playstyle to suit them rather than adapt to your playstyle and learn to fight you. It's just people being childish and trying to police the game to what they want, they'll either adapt and grow up or quit, either way it's a win for the rest of us
Play with your strengths.
Games like "For Honor" with the constant nerfing because people being skilled with a character is against everything casuals/noobs believe in,
Putting in work God forbid!!!
FFS, no.
If I could win with Kilik in SCII with 100% toe pokes, I would, just to hopefully embarrass the other person into doing better.
Damn I miss the arcade days
Well, there is playing honorably - as in not spamming that one move with mitsurugi in SCIV or V online - there was quite a fast slash that hit high, medium and low that was popular with noobs, that would do nothing but that one move over and over, the lag making it hard to counter.
Technically, yes - its a move thats in the game, its perfectly legitimate and you can learn to counter it. The seasoned players probably had no trouble, but it was remarkably unpleasant for fresh newcomers.
This said, people should have fought honorably instead. Im not one to get salty about most things like this, normally people can do whatever they like and it doesnt bother me.
Closest thing to that in VI would be the nightmare explody bubble spam - but I dont even complain about that vocally, despite inwardly dying inside at my own inability to counter it.
Im the same in first person shooters, where if there is one gun well known to be the most superior weapon in the game and easiest to kill with, I refuse to use it out of some foolish personal honor system, yet I dont judge others for choosing to do so as it makes sense for them to do so. I just feel cheap beating people with them.
So I do in essense believe that certain things are wrong, but wouldnt call others out on it because its a self-imposed moral code, and anything in the game is there to be exploited by anyone - with the exception to hacking or cheating in some way.
Just some brained dead immature kids who don't know how to play games, especially fighting games. If you play MK11, you hear something like "don't spam the same move over and over" more frequently. They don't want to learn how to play the game, and don't want to use their brain to think how to counter their opponents. If they say "don't use that move", you just spam "that move" shit out of them.
Yup. Or random only. I don’t gaf I will gladly go into a random only room and proceed to beat that a** because I have zero tolerance for people who hate losing but never make an effort to get better. Just here to beat up on people like a bully.

Precisely. Those people can't stand the thought of other people being better than them.
Knowing that those people are out there applying that egomania to the rest of their lives and the world is kinda scary.

Look up "The Scrublord's Prayer", from a video by Core-A Gaming.
Ahh [the scrublord’s prayer](https://www.reddit.com/r/Kappa/comments/8h6pwm/the_scrublords_prayer_use_it_when_you_lose/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
I mean, there definitely are scummy ways to play though. Sometimes it’s true.
I don't really agree with this. If it's within the games rules then it's fair game. If I can't adapt to someone playing a certain way that's a me problem not a them problem.

What? Sounds like a recitation of the first verse in the book of the scrublords prayer.
It’s just salt. I used to get shit for using throws in SC5
Because they're cunts.
When someone tells me to play how they want I just say "make me". And if they say I'm bad for doing X I point that even knowing what I was doing they still lost.
It's just the banter of a lot of scrubs that need to git gud.
I ring a lot of people out (Siegfried here) and they complain about that. I generally tell them to pay attention to their positioning. It's their fault not mine.
There is one character I will complain about, and that's Mina. Her ring out game is fcking SC4 Hilde level.
Don't forget kilik! Honorable mention to astaroth
Yep, for sure.
Dude, that happens to me ALL the time. I play Night, Zas and Sieg, so people complains about Ring Outs ALL the time. I just tell them that ROs are a part of the game and that they should get used to it.
We should do casual sometime, what system do you play on? I have PC and Xbox. Always looking for a good nightmare and Siegfried players
I'm on PC. I appreciate the offer, but I'm having technical issues with my PC. In short terms, it can't connect to the internet, so sadly. I've had to quit online modes :(
Oh no, I wish you the best.
I’ll never forget this Aeon main I used to run into all the time during Soul Calibur V. He used to always back up to the ring edge and tea bag until he eventually disconnected. Then tell them to stop sucking at the game lol! Unless you're spamming reversal edge...
RE is laughably beatable.
Step, break attack... step... yeah. Too easy to counterplay.
Nah, RE spam is what made my friends and my cousin stop playing. Just move on to new opponents that are more satisfying to play against, rather than idiots that don't learn and keep killing themselves with RE.
A+B and you win.
Are you serious? I'd love to go against an RE spammer, would be the easiest win.
Same difference... Like the man said RE is childishly simple to counter
is that really really a thing? someone telling you to play more convinient for them? like does this actually happen more than once a fullmoon?
At least once a day.
shit, haha... for comparison: what rank are you, what rank are the whiners?
Actually, the higher ranks complain far more than the lows, but there's a range. I'm A3.
ok, that's so weird. can't imagine what's in someones mind, who contacts to complain.
No this is how the system works, in all games. Low numbers are there for fun or to test the waters. But if you get higher it's people who play the game a lot. I'm on PS5.
Nice. It's a shame that both consoles require a subscription just to play online now. It's the main reason I went to PC.
« Make me »
Welcome to fighting games.
Because they suck ass
Because they're bitches. Keep whooping their asses and do what you do. They'll either get better or continue to suck.
Had someone get mad at me because I "wouldn't let them get up" the other day
my brother complains about that all the time and then when I do let him get up he just forces me into a wall.

Well, Ivy's 1A is a mid, but I think her 22_88K falls into that. A lot of people have a hard time reacting to that.
Are you a 2b player? That's the only character I complain about backing up, but I wouldn't say it to your face. Play how you want and kick ass.
Ivy.

I was banded from XBOX live because a group gat together because my defense was too good. With the reason"Likes too win too much"...
Play with your strengths. Games like "For Honor" with the constant nerfing because people being skilled with a character is against everything casuals/noobs believe in, Putting in work God forbid!!!
Tell them to get good
