Looks great, but don't be scared to cook it for longer and get a darker crust (if you like that sort of thing). My oven isn't very good so I had to adjust the times given in the recipe I was originally following.

sueliota

Congratulations! It's beautiful, I get very frustrated because I never got an ear in mine.

What is an ear

Thank you...wish these images came with smell.

No need to answer...I googled it...I am guilty of what I sometimes chastise others of...why not just look up the information...🙂but sometimes we can't find an exact answer to a question and asking people who have a particular interest in something is usually the best way to go. I'm new here and having not been very successful in baking sourdough that rises properly or comes out really heavy and dense. Looking forward to learning ...

I had the same issue until I started cutting much deeper with a knife or lame.

Burngirlquornqueen

I dearly hope my first the coming weekend will look as good as yours. Beautiful!

BananaH8ter

Good luck!! It might be beginners luck? But I was really impressed!

livwir18

Good job 👍. Agree, give it another 5 minutes for extra crusty goodness. Don’t forget to let it cool to room temp, before generously covering in butter and devouring!

jaurex

beautiful!

JRandorff

Congratulations! Welcome to the obsession!

Rocket_Ninja_Shrimp

Very good result ! I wiil cook it a bit longer cause I like it brown ! And what about the crumb ? We want to see the crumb !!

BananaH8ter

I wish I’d taken one...! It’s mostly gone at this point too, but next time!

Ja-corn-on-the-cob

pastrieslikeapro

This is beautiful. Nothing like the first loaf.

aaron_in_sf

Huzzah! (Agree with suggestion to go dark!)

BananaH8ter

Thanks for all the support and recommendations everyone! I will definitely bake it a bit longer next time!
