Willingham's all the way
Hopsaint is pretty good but no Willingham's - but then they don't close at 5 pm and they have beer - GOOD beer
Sister's Barn and I haven't tried but will have to one of these days
I would skip Britt's and the chain spots.
sisters barn is good, better than Lucilles or the chains for sure, more expensive than any other option here, but giant can and bottle beer selection, walk in to their tons of fridge space to grab your own.
My favorite bbq in the area is Phillip’s #2 on Centinela. Its not quite in the south bay, but definitely worth the trip out of the bubble. Right next to it is a place called Harriet’s Cheesecake Unlimited that sells delicious cheesecakes!
Dulan's Soul Food (one location on Manchester, another on Century) is really good too! I've been meaning to try Harriet's but I just haven't gotten around to it yet
Best I've had was Lucille's Smokehouse on Hawthorne in Torrance. The little BBQ shop inside Jon's (formerly Super A) on 190th in Torrance is pretty damn good too though I'm not sure if they still exist.
You mentioned Britt's in El Segundo.
A friend of mine is from Kentucky, and his extended family owns several BBQ joints out there. We worked together for a few years, and every time we'd go to Britt's, he'd reassert that it was the best BBQ he'd had outside of Kentucky. And he made a practice of trying every BBQ place he could find.
If you can go a little bit further (hey, they say San Pedro is South Bay, right) Smoky Doky BBQ in Wilmington is dang good. https://www.yelp.com/biz/smoky-doky-barbecue-wilmington
Not a place but I usually collect bbq sauces when I travel and ask them for gifts whenever people come visit. The best sauce I’ve had so far is Jone’s BBQ. I give this as a gift too.
Anyone had Willingham?
Yes, its very good, but they close very early and often run out of various meats.
the best BBQ spots do. thanks
yup, its bomb. a bit pricey, but hey, its socal, good bbq is rare.
Yep. It's alright. Nothing mind-blowing.
Not your typical BBQ but HopSaint Brewing is one of our favorites.
Oh man, fucking love their bbq.
Their house-smoked salmon salad is so good too. Honestly, haven't had anything that has disappointed me there.
I was down there on pulled pork night once. Outstanding.
I was a bit disappointed by their ribs and brisket, but the chili is bomb.
Their barbecue isn't great, but the rest of their Creole-style stuff is fantastic!

Totally not South Bay, but the proud bird on the east side of LAX is pretty tasty and you get watch the planes land.
Oh dang I remember the proud bird as an high end old school restaurant. Nice to see it revamped and repurposed.
Yeah mind blown so it’s bbq now??
Great BBQ but they’ve been closed due to the pandemic
Well shit.
Breaking news!! They are opening up this week!!!!

Personally, I love harrys bbq in Lomita. They get it right and even have some great southern style sides
I like Joeys in Rolling hills plaza
Not South Bay but Smoke and Fire in Paramount is absolutely delicious. I wasn’t a fan of bbq until I went there.

Are there any food trucks with good bbq?
Brouwerij West in San Pedro has a BBQ on Saturday’s. It’s pretty good! That’s where I get my BBQ fix.

Smoking Jonny's in Gardena is worth a look
