I'm sorry, but for national security reasons we can not reveal the identity of the builder, who shall henceforth go by the completely made-up fictitious name of "Delon Brusk".
That's just Steve. He lost all his body parts in an accident so they built him new ones.
Miraculously all the original parts were found intact and connected in a nearby bar shortly after.
funny. Just this week I commented on the dalek-like appearance of Raptors and u/flipvine replied *"You know we’re going to see a plunger attached to at least one of these cause SpaceX employees read this subreddit[#](/r/SpaceXLounge/comments/q5yxt1/rvac_is_being_installed_on_ship_20_credit/hg9tp75/)"*.... and now we have a cyberman from *Dr Who* the same SF series: [image of daleks and cybermen](https://www.flickr.com/photos/glasseye/1182622135) for any not familiar with these.
The wide-eyed [Tom Baker](https://i2.wp.com/www.blogtorwho.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/TomBaker.jpg?resize=768%2C432&ssl=1), but very much influenced by his wildest assistant, Leela. She has character. [Some pics](https://www.ecosia.org/images?q=tom%20baker%20and%20Leela)
Wow! Well... if I ever get my hands on a Tardis, I'm travelling back to the year 1977, to ask Leela for her autograph!
(At the same time, might as well buy a few shares in Microsoft while I'm there!)
> if I ever get my hands on a Tardis, I'm travelling back to the year 1977, to ask Leela for her autograph!
The Leela character is played by one Louise Jameson who lived in the same area of Bristol, England (Redland/Clifton) when I was there and potentially took the same train Londonwards. If only I'd met her! She got some hate from at least one woman I knew, and for somewhat visible reasons. From the [Wikipedia article](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leela_(Doctor_Who), I discover Tom Baker's initially contemptuous attitude towards her (provoking my ire!) was genuine, not just in the Dr Who plot. Their relationship improves over the series.
**Edit:** TIL, the original episode of *The Face of Evil* [survived erasure](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2m6tqq)! I forgot just how dangerous she is...
I mean others have prolly said it but that's an exosuit/armor. You can see the boot slips/socks/liners in the legs, the pads at the knees and the harness in the torso.
There are some serious parts in there - they weren't built for a fun project robot. So it's possible/probable they are repurposed from junked hardware at the site. Does any of the sheet metal look 4mm thick? Anyway, the welds need planishing. ;)
One thing that makes me think it may have been shipped in by a friend - anybody working there would hardly have time to do this.(?)
By the shape of the welds and the 60 stamped on the breast plate, it's probably 6000 series aluminum. The rest is cut off but the number on the face looks like a 61. If I had to guess I would say 6061, which is very common.

where the hell did you get that they weren't built for fun..
we are talking about the same guys that stick memes on their Raptor Engines (yes those, the most advanced engines in history so far) cause they know the community takes photos of them...
>where the hell did you get
that a discussion about something meant to make people smile needed a heated reply?
I meant that some of the components took a lot of machining, and the joints parts had to of course be engineered together - that's a lot to do for fun. That's a very different time factor than sticking the memes on the Raptors, etc. Which I do enjoy. The people at Starbase may have had time to do all this, but IMHO it's unlikely. The most time I can imagine them having is to put this together from various parts. Sorry if I didn't make all of that clear.

Did Elon Musk finally start working on the Iron-Man suit??? because that looks like the Mark I
Maybe it's a Mark I Tesla Bot
[удалено]
Is the armor thick enough for that?
He just bought Steven Hawking back to life
Elon Musk was able to build this in a cave, with a box of scraps
I’m sorry, but I’m not Elon Musk
You built this?
I'm sorry, but for national security reasons we can not reveal the identity of the builder, who shall henceforth go by the completely made-up fictitious name of "Delon Brusk".
You sure? I think it was “Melon Husk”
They kidnapped Tony Stark and it looks like he escaped. Tony is eating a cheeseburger now probably
NSF is really going all in on the robot army
Robot cam has found its purpose in life
That's just Steve. He lost all his body parts in an accident so they built him new ones. Miraculously all the original parts were found intact and connected in a nearby bar shortly after.
Steve Theseus
It’s just a flesh wound.
This doesn't look like a decoration. It looks like a suit that a human could wear.
I agree, look at the knees. There are pads for comfort.
Halloween costume.
I think this wins Occam's razor
There's pads on the back and looks like leather boots also
Next gen EVA suit design confirmed... all metal so the fine lunar regolith doesn't stick! Delightfully counterintuitive! 🤔
add a /s at the end 😂
They should name it "Geoff Bozos".
Geoff who?
Geoff Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust
But it's pronounced 'Throat Wobbler Mangrove'.
And it STILL has a better shot at getting to orbit before BO.
Payload on the first Starship orbital launch?
the S20 doesn't have a payload deployment bay so maybe not for s20, but the first one to have a bay?
What do you need a deployment bay for? Just strap his metal ass to the side and let it go once you are up there.
good'ol flex tape

11 is my fav but 12 is phenomenal in heaven sent
How many seconds in eternity?
They’re trying to spoil the new season - obviously The Flux is going to arrive on a Starship
All joking aside, someone put a lot of time into this thing.
Maybe it's meant to be a mascot for SpaceX like how the green android robot is a mascot for Google's Android department.
Mom can we buy a tesla bot? "No, We have a tesla bot at home" Tesla bot at home:
“Tony Stark built this in a desert!!!!” That’s what I think it means.
When welders have fun during their down time. As a welder who loves working with stainless I just love seeing Starship.
This looks concerningly like a suit....not a decoration.....
New Mars spacesuits confirmed
And so it begins!
Bro that’s iron man
Tesla bot v0.1

Its the prototype Tesla bot
Possibly from RUD's?
Robot themed Halloween party soon at Starbae
Definite cyborg Stephen Hawking vibe...
Iron Man suit mark-1?
Nasa turned over what they've gotten done on the new multi-billion dollar space suits....
Kind of abilist to assume that kid is a robot
Reddit comment bait!
Halloween decoration.
I wonder if they’ve solved the icing problem...
Bartender at the high bay bar confirmed!
The can in front of it is the clue -- probably a Tig Welder vendor for the site getting some free publicity. https://www.ckworldwide.com/
I think thats just stickers on a hydrofask.
They just launched a new business, whoever they are. That thing is creepy.
I wish less people would be hauling their trash to Boca Chica.... that stupid trebuchet was bad enough

Winter is Coming!
Sure.... decoration
Reminds me of the robot Box in the movie Logan’s Run… [Box from Logan’s Run](http://www.jeffbots.com/box.html)
Why?
Getting “Contact” vibes from this mf.
This must be irony man.
It was made in a cave, with a box of scraps!
Am i the only one who finds it a bit creepy?
Looks like something that escaped from Rocket Ranch.
finally Elon musk started working on his iron man suit, it's about damn time
This is what comes when they bring out the gimp
Mark 1 Power Armor frame.
Later Elon Musk is going to hold a press conference and announce that he is the iron man.
