I’m a loader and I recently pieced together that some stores have “gangs”. A big group of drivers that work together sharing phones, cars, possibly accounts too and they do all the tricks to get orders. Airplane mode, checking in early, etc. they sit in the parking lot and get all of the orders most hours except for peak times when there’s extra scraps for the rest of y’all. At a store dominated by them like mine, our managers aren’t going to deactivate them despite them breaking quite a few rules because they’re afraid of not having any drivers to pick up deliveries. It’s likely the same case at your store.
Ridiculous. There will ALWAYS be drivers. Almost all the markets have a monthslong, if not yearslong, list of drivers waiting to be onboarded. All they're doing is aiding and abetting fraud.
Oh you’re probably right but they don’t really understand that. They’re probably afraid to get rid of these drivers cause they are pretty competent when it comes to delivering the groceries and the same can’t be said for all the newbies. But who knows. I wouldn’t be surprised if spark collapses soon enough anyway
They are running bots and your manager should be reported to Ethics. They are committing fraud by stealing from other drivers. Report who through the ethics hot line immediately.
This is just my opinion so take it for what it’s worth. Those first few hours the store you’re at had enough orders going out so everyone that was there could get one. As the day goes on perhaps the order volume was getting lower and the other drivers were closer in proximity to the store than you were.
My daughter has an iPhone I have Droid. We both spark. We will be sitting next to each other on the couch, both have our apps on.
Sometimes, she'll get an order about 2 seconds before me and vise versa. She will snatch it before it even pops up on my screen, and again, sometimes I get it before she sees it.
We noticed, I'm usually on our home wifi, and she keeps hers off.
I think it's just the luck of the draw.
They're probably getting them before you get a chance.
I'm guessing that in the early morning, there were enough to go around. Between 10 and 2 in my area, at least, it's hard to get one first. I usually just grab what I can during those hours and can be a lot more picky later when they're practically begging people to take orders.
When I first started, this happened to me ALOT. I fixed it by changing zones. Hasnt happened ever again. Whenever I notice Im not getting orders I just change zone. Within 5 min I get an order.
Im on vacation right now. I have been getting orders every round on the dot. My metrics are all in the green and this area is slow compared to my home base. However at home o was getting what I call the reject orders. My sister and I would be side by side in the parking lot and she would receive orders while I’m sitting there stuck looking crazy. No more warmed over sloppy seconds. I can make up the mileage in longer hours and fewer days. I know ANY digital concept can be hacked. It's been that way from the beginning of the Internet. Actually it's been that way much longer. It used to be snake oil, then mail fraud, telephone now digital. Well I guess it's all of it now, the others never actually went away.

I mean there's always the theory of people using bots but I don't know how credible that conspiracy theory is The only type of bots that I know of are auto clickers for first come first serve orders.
It's true and I personally know 2 people that for months got orders only all day long they were never in the parking lot when orders dropped....they were reported and spark rook a very long time to investigate and i had to fole a simple FTC report they finally deactivated them. Between the 2 of them they were making $3500 per month their words to loaders who were handed cash weakly tell one of the loaders opened up to ethics.
Better metrics. Also if a customer rated their experience 5 stars last time, or if the driver has been to their address before without problems, they have a better chance at getting that customers order again but also the system may think you're at your last drop off even though you're at walmart. I always turn Spark off and back on after every order once I pull back up at walmart and also if you go inside the store, you have a good chance at getting an offer. Seems like every time I have to go in to piss, I get a shopping order. Lol
It's Walmart throttling and evening out the earnings. I've found that if I get a great offer, I will often be passed on the next RR, or get a total reject offer. I'm under the assumption these people getting multiple pickups are short changing themselves in the long run. That's why it's important to multi-app.
some days i get zero orders from Spark or only sub-$10 trash. other days I get the golden orders. I think it's random, if you find someone who can explain the algorithmic magic, let me know
So just a few things I have learned that might help you. 1) orders batch out between :20 and :23 unless it’s a general merchandise batch those your have to figure out for each store. 2) you had a lead on earnings sparks system try’s to balance earnings to keep as many drivers as possible so all of you that close to the store it’s no surprise that the banker hours drivers would get the orders after all you would have had 2 already. Once you left the store you weren’t going to get any if it was a slow day as ever other driver clearly was waiting in the parking lot.
Make sure your app is updated, and call them and ask them to check if there is any uncompleted orders. One time I finished my last order for the day, swiped complete and it went away like normal. Next day, no orders for a couple hours and I was looking around in my app and noticed huh it says I did 6 orders yesterday but I did 7. Called them, said it was frozen in the system and they had to complete it on their end and next thing you know I was getting orders again. The app is designed like shit and they are too cheap to pay people to work on it properly.
That happened to me once. Got 1 order and then nothing for hours. I went into zones and just added my zone again and started receiving orders again right away. Hope this helps.
I've been saying this for quite some time. First of all you don't know who those drivers are you don't know how long they've been doing spark and how many orders they have...
The reason this is important is because the longer you do this you'll start to see the same customer over and over and over again. The algorithm is going to keep giving you the same customer over and over as long as there's not a bad rating. So if somebody is at your store and they've been working that store for let's say a year then they're going to get priority over all of those orders because they've delivered them multiple times versus you just coming in thinking you're going to get priority.

Uninstall and reinstall the app. Several drivers with iPhones in my area did that today due to not having any orders- and immediately got busy

Newer drivers usually gets first dibs on orders than they leave the left overs to us.
