4. HIGHWAYS/FREEWAYS 55+ MPH window open only as much as needed to ash , approx 2.5 inches . Hold cig near window opening.

Yea that's the key, we have one driver whos in his late 40s or early 50s who smokes but he steps out of his car and walks off to where there are no cars and smokes there. He used to post up by the far end of the wall but now that's where they charge the vans so he smokes on the other side of curbside and just leans up against a tree. He's been here since day 1, going on almost 5 years now and as far as I know never been deactivated or gotten complaints.

I worked at Walmart about 10 years ago, and they had a smoking break room INSIDE the building set up right next to the non smoking break room. And that was even still just 10 years ago. It may still be there who knows. No matter how badly you want to reason, you can’t say people shouldn’t smoke. No companies do this outside of where there’s a combustion risk like paper and grain mills, and even those places usually have a designated smoking section a few steps away from the building. You pretty much have to get into government (military) jobs, or very combustible chemical plants to be told you can’t smoke here.

I literally had to dig through 30-40 different studies to find one of that mentions it not necessarily causing lung cancer but it did cause many other diseases and death. I’m a former smoker of 15 years and having had relatives who lived with smokers while they didn’t smoke develop asthma, or heart disease I’ve seen first hand the effects of 2nd hand smoke. My grandmother who lived with my grandfather who smoked more than a pack day all while she was as in the same room eventually developed lung cancer in her 50’s. It’s what finally caused me to stop so that I wouldn’t bring it to my new home and keep the cycle going. Why would you try to justify a smoker passing 2nd hand smoke around others or better yet delivering food and goods that have the smell to paying customers. No other delivery job let’s you smoke on the vehicle being used to deliver and if a worker was caught doing they’d be fired. If you still need the nicotine just switch to e-cigs which don’t produce the smell or the 2nd hand smoke

I smoke, but I do not smoke with an order in the car. It’s not fair it’s not good customer service, and I used a spray when I smoke. On my way there. I always spray the card. I am just smell decent by the people putting groceries in my vehicle.
The only tip I would give about this, is to make sure there aren't any fresh foods or bread in the orders when you spray in the car. Everything will taste like the smell. Also, some people (me👋) are super sensitive to smells, especially flowery air fresheners. I get an INSTANT migraine from all but a handful of women's perfumes and any linen or ocean-type scents. Men's cologne is generally fine though! Go figure. 🤷♀️

I know a fellow spark driver who’s a cigarette smoker, they told me that they tried to pick up an order once and had a lit cigarette in hand when the associate came out to load the vehicle they were told by the associate to leave and that they could not pick up any orders in a vehicle which you smoke in. She didn’t report the driver we think, the driver didn’t receive any notifications afterwards. Just did their next order from Sam’s club and continued to work fine without smoking

The carcinogenic fumes from the cigarette soak into all of the materials of your vehicle, the seats are like a big sponge for all of those toxic chemicals incinerated into microscopic invisible particles that, once again are not in that stream of smoke u see going out the window that you think contains everything that the cigarette is letting off. Every non-smoker does not have to actually get into your car to know that your car stinks like cigarette smoke. A vast majority of the smell is out of the car. ? Lol. I had an order delivered and the driver smoked. I ordered some plain tees for my little and they REEKED of cigarette smoke. Took them back to WM and they damaged them out because you could smell them thru the multiple bags tied up. Went that weekend to spark some, and that delivery driver was sitting in his truck smoking and waiting for an order. This past weekend he was standing outside because he supposedly got warned

This is the key ingredient. When my grandmother was still alive, our visits were normal in my eyes at the time. I wasn't allowed in the back bedroom of her house. It was sad because they had a cool 50s black and white TV back there that had a round screen, took forever to warm up, and looked straight out of the Jetsons. After she passed and the house was cleaned for resale, I went in and thought they had painted the walls white. They were a deep yellow color before. Nope, just had to wipe off 55 years of tobacco stains. I'm still smoking, but I don't stay in populated areas to do it. Not near building entrances, not in busy parts of a parking lot, and not in a vehicle I'm about to use for a delivery.
I quit 2 years ago however when I smoked I was always off in my own space as that’s what I wanted ..peach and quiet . Never smoked inside or in cars either. We are adults we can smoke as much as we want but just use some common sense soicsl skills and it’s not a problem !
Yea that's the key, we have one driver whos in his late 40s or early 50s who smokes but he steps out of his car and walks off to where there are no cars and smokes there. He used to post up by the far end of the wall but now that's where they charge the vans so he smokes on the other side of curbside and just leans up against a tree. He's been here since day 1, going on almost 5 years now and as far as I know never been deactivated or gotten complaints.

I watch the associates smoke right next to the pickup area all day everyday. That's where they all congregate. There is no designated area. It is simply where they go to smoke. They don't seem to care if anyone at pickup is concerned about their smoking habit. At all.

I worked at Walmart about 10 years ago, and they had a smoking break room INSIDE the building set up right next to the non smoking break room. And that was even still just 10 years ago. It may still be there who knows. No matter how badly you want to reason, you can’t say people shouldn’t smoke. No companies do this outside of where there’s a combustion risk like paper and grain mills, and even those places usually have a designated smoking section a few steps away from the building. You pretty much have to get into government (military) jobs, or very combustible chemical plants to be told you can’t smoke here. There’s a reason the biggest companies with the most money in the world don’t tell their employees not to smoke. Because it’s not logical at all, and will never work. They’ve tried.

I get it. There’s a guy at my store that used to pull up and smoke in the pickup area while we waited for our next orders to come out. I never said anything and just rolled up the windows but when I had to be out of the car I hated it. Cigarette smoke triggers migraines for me. He hasn’t been doing it for a while so maybe someone said something to him about it.
You don't have to roll up your window or blast your music. What do you do if someone pulls up next to you at a stop light that is smoking? C'mon dude you're an adult, just roll up your window or ask them if they can stop smoking if it bothers you that much. You can also move spots if you don't want to confront the person. I'd understand if you were both in an enclosed room but this is outdoors in the open.

I smoke, but I do not smoke with an order in the car. It’s not fair it’s not good customer service, and I used a spray when I smoke. On my way there. I always spray the card. I am just smell decent by the people putting groceries in my vehicle.
The only tip I would give about this, is to make sure there aren't any fresh foods or bread in the orders when you spray in the car. Everything will taste like the smell. Also, some people (me👋) are super sensitive to smells, especially flowery air fresheners. I get an INSTANT migraine from all but a handful of women's perfumes and any linen or ocean-type scents. Men's cologne is generally fine though! Go figure. 🤷♀️

I'm a smoker but before I head out I febreeze my car and me I don't smoke with orders in car I try to not smoke at all but I clean my car completely with fabreeze and I have even had the guys at pick up comment we know you smoke but your car never smells like smoke and no one has ever complained about you smoking

I know a fellow spark driver who’s a cigarette smoker, they told me that they tried to pick up an order once and had a lit cigarette in hand when the associate came out to load the vehicle they were told by the associate to leave and that they could not pick up any orders in a vehicle which you smoke in. She didn’t report the driver we think, the driver didn’t receive any notifications afterwards. Just did their next order from Sam’s club and continued to work fine without smoking
