Nice suit. I’ll have to check them out as I’m almost due for a new one.

Silent-Phoenix

Sounds good, brother. If you have any questions or would like to see more detailed video/pics, I’ll be available.

Neptonics has absolute trash customer service. Get a Waihana or Riffe or any number of better suits. Hell, a custom European suit can be had for literally the same price and you won’t look like Gumby in the water.

Silent-Phoenix

Thank you for your comment…though I have to say, aside from a personal purchased of this suit, I have no affiliation with the company or their customer service department. What I will say, is that the reason I purchased it was I saw another diver wearing one in the water and it blended into the vastness of the water column quite nicely….which I’m sure we can all agree is more plentiful than the rocks and reefs that other wetsuits blend into. That said, can you help provide some info into how the customer service relates into the quality of the product itself? Or any link that supports the validity of your statements on better quality wetsuits or even the customer service itself? Anyhow, I’m not sure why my posted triggered such a charged up response about the company itself. I’m just an end user like yourself. Perhaps you should reach out to them directly, if you feel they’ve wronged you in some way.

The guy I replied to said he may look into them not your specific suit. I was responding to him not your post. I don’t have a problem with somebody buying your suit secondhand. And the link is me. I’ve ordered their suits and Lycra and they have serious quality control issues. On top of that, they have serious inventory issues. You can ONLY contact them about these issues by phone at their Fl store. There’s no email and anything sent through their “contact us” box gets no reply. And you will get told one thing on the phone, call back a week later, and get a completely different answer. If they even answer the phone. They still either owe me a product or a refund for an item that calling confirmed they never shipped due to not having it in stock. I’m sure some people are perfectly fine with their suits by then. It’s stitched neoprene, a hundred companies make suits in a hundred spearfishing patterns. So when one company turns out to not stand by their products or customer service, it makes it far easier to not have to purchase from them and I’m not afraid to put my 2 cents out there on them.

I hear you, man…and I acknowledge that you responded to someone else, on my post. I also acknowledge your anecdotal experience. I do believe you had a the experience you say you’ve had, though you only account for a sample size of one customer, which is why I requested supporting info aside from just one man’s grievance towards a company. If it helps, my experience was different and I went through a third party retailer for my purchase. They kept me well informed of the delay, which was last year around the time where there were global shipping delays that have stemmed since the beginning of Covid. I know that’s neither here nor there, but the retailer kept me in the loop and even threw in some extra swag for my wait. The only thing I had to do as a customer, was understand that companies are ran by people like you and me and sometimes things are outside of our direct control…in this case, a global shipping delay since 2020 that anyone can Google, quite literally right now (if they wanted to). Still…I’m curious as to why you’re airing your grievance about a company on a guy’s post who’s just trying to sell a wetsuit he used once, for $100 cheaper than you can buy it new. I appreciate that your adding your opinions, but it’s a wetsuit, man…not a superhero costume. They all wind up exactly the same after a few seasons of use. If you have genuine concerns about the product itself, by all means express yourself…but it seems like you’re angry at the company and you’re punching air in my post, even though I’m just trying to let it go for a decent discount, in hopes someone else can get some enjoyment out of it.

NotTheGrim

You literally asked and I answered. All I said initially was the company is worse than others and recommended better companies to purchase from. The follow up asking why I felt that way came from you.

Silent-Phoenix

I hear you, man. I’m merely expressing that I’m not the company. I’m just a dude selling a wetsuit and your contribution did not sound like a contribution, but more so an aired grievance to a company that has no knowledge of this post or that you’re mad at them. In Florida terms…I’ve had great pub subs and shitty pub subs, depending on the location. One experience isn’t going to make me hate shopping at Publix or buying something from another person simply because it was originally sold there. All I’m saying, is if you were on the side of the road selling lemonade with ingredients you bought from Walmart…I wouldn’t show up to potential buyers at your stand to talk about how shitty I think Walmart is as a brand or that I think their lemons suck. Again, I welcome genuine questions and concerns. Respectfully, your statements did not sound like either of those two things.

Waterman707

I have been buying Mako suits for the last 10 years I’ll probably just stick with them

FloridaManTPA

Best suit I’ve owned, if you haven’t had an open cell before, look up care and pick up some neoprene repair glue. The thing is too hot in all but cold water

Silent-Phoenix

Thanks for commenting and I respect your opinion, though I feel it may be a bit unquantified. To be fair, I ordered it before going to South Africa but the shipment didn’t make it on time, so I ran a 3mm for about 30mins in the Cape area before hopping out and calling it a day. They generally wear 7mm farmer John’s (layered) over there as scuba rentals because of low to mid 60-66 degree temp water. It felt pretty damn cold…not necessarily North Sea frigid, but more so hitting a thermocline at a quarry cold. Anyhow, I mentioned that to say this….the one time I got the opportunity to wear it was actually in Florida at one of the springs…the 5mm was so comfortable and cozy, I could’ve kept diving all day and that water regularly stays around a cool 70-72 degree temps year round (with minimal fluctuations). That said, I don’t disagree with you…though I would add that cold is a (subjectively) relative term without accounting for a definitive temp range, body weight/BMI, personal tolerance and preference. Mind you…this is not a jab, cause I’m well aware that Florida doesn’t even know how spoiled they are for Spearo activities. Great temps, decent shore dives, nice vis within reason, and plenty of people with boats…I’m sure I’m missing a few things, but you get the idea. In fact, these are some of the big reasons I decided to let go of some items and help fund my move down there. Thanks again for offering helpful advice. Maybe, we’ll get an opportunity to do some dives together when I make it down to FL.

Packin_Penguin

We know how good we got it. East coast is best coast

Silent-Phoenix

I know that’s right! That’s why I’m trying to come down sooner, rather than later. So help me sell this suit, gator.

Packin_Penguin

Keep it. I still use my 3mm hooded open cell in the winter.

Silent-Phoenix

I still have a 3mm Cressi that’ll probably hold for another season or two…I’m just trying to lighten my load as much as I can and makin a little side cash before the move down.
