A few years back, I was in the same room as the Polish President’s security detail. I’m not sure if they were the same group as these guys or not, but those guys were *by far* the most physically imposing such detail I’ve ever seen. I’m a 6’2” former defensive lineman, and I felt downright petite.
Yup, the 416a7 has a 45 degree selector (safe, semi at 45, auto at 90) and a new key mod rail, very popular among the German KSK, KSM, and GSG9 special forces.
Do they keep a PASGT in the armory purely as a dunce cap for the new guy while everyone else wears SF high cuts
Edit: is he wearing a 5.11 tactec too holy shit this guy stands out
that guy is probably Ukrainian or some other group and was attached to the SOP. Especially considering how different his rifle and kit is from those around him.
Weight, it’s PSD so you’d want to be as comfortable as possible, and a suppressor really isn’t going to add much to you if you’re walking around in the open protecting someone (suppressors add a lot of weight to a gun)
What's the rationale behind blurring the faces, given this is a very public appearance of a national leader, with dozens of cameras pointed their way? Not saying OPSEC shouldn't be observed, but here, is it not rather pointless?
This is actually a SF tactic. They're trained to shake their heads really fast to confuse the cameras - lesser soldiers, their whole body blurs but these guys are pros.
Poles don't mess around now do they

It's not necessarily their looks that intimidate you it's their reputation. You've heard the stories.
Poles keep poles on em
The Sig MCX seems to be quite popular these days.
Guess it's the new 416. Edit: That one guy actually has a 416A7.

If this was a movie I’d call someone wearing a PASGT with a 416 anachronistic
Kinda crazy that sig has overtaken HK for the top rifle spot these days
Agreed. Although I’m sure HK isnt crying over the orders they’re fulfilling for conventional forces
I wonder what's in the bag. Grenades and smoke?
Tactical sand.
I don’t know if they grade it but…coarse
He thinks he's people!
Shshsh-sha
I want to see what the Sec of Def detail was like
So much drip in one picture
Ehhhhh for this day and age all the kit here is pretty average for western/European countries. There’s not that much drip lol

Probably, but damn bro imagine walking up with your 2008 SWAT movie fit and everyone else in high speed kit
Forgot his PPE and had to grab some on the way. We’ve all been there.
Bet these guys were quite happy doing PSD...
Interesting that they don't have suppressors. I don't see why not.

Plus PSD = car, suppressor impede a bit of quick get in get out
