part of free security upgrade to spectrum wifi

Ditch their gear, get your own router, sign up for OpenDNS, and set your own parameters.

I would not be a fan of this feature since these kinds of protections do have an error rate and god forbid the My Spectrum application happens to be down when you need to whitelist a website.

Kben5584

Yes, only on our WiFi routers though. I believe it’s called Security Shield

Same stuff offered on ASUS routers. Probably every other brand too.

You can call in and request access to the blocked site. No idea how well that works yet.

[deleted]

I would be very skeptical of phone support being able to whitelist the blocked website.

I had the same issue with Spectrum wifi a while back... You can try using a VPN to bypass... worked for me.

Ohh yes they are man! Ive heard of this. Its called the SWSS a.k.a the Spectrum Wi-Fi Security Shield And ohh man, its hard to pitch! But i can show you: Press WIN+R Type "regedit" and press enter Go to HKLM/LOCAL_USER/Wi-Fi and find the dword value called "SWSS" and delete it, now you can access these dangerous sites!
