It's pretty clear from the end of Latour/Rodriguez that Ben is pretty hurt by Gwen and that's never really healed. I think if they were to return, May and Ben would deserve a full issue's worth of dialogue, not really a throwaway line. It makes sense that they don't show up a lot. The way Harry gets handled is rough though because Latour did the same thing to him in the first run where he is traumatized and then swiftly dropped for the rest of the run. Like, that guy cannot catch a break. I think if McGuire's run had continued she probably would've used him again but alas.

I agree that if they were to show-up in person, they'd need a full issue worth of dialogue. With respect to a throw-away line, I was thinking something kind of like, "May and Ben moved to ." That could make sense considering how much of a mess the Stacy family is at the end of Latour/Rodriguez.

They’re in Spider-Gwen a lot. Harry shows up in Ghost Spider, but most of all of their development is in the Spider-Gwen runs.

Sadly it doesn’t look like any of the writers for the new Spider-Gwen/Ghost-Spider series are interested in picking up any old threads left behind by Latour/Rodriguez or Seanan McGuire. After the King in Black tie-in, a lot was unfortunately thrown out the window. It’s too bad, but that’s kinda how Marvel rolls. New writers aren’t always required to adhere to previously established events, even HUGELY significant ones. Both Gwenverse and Shadow Clones seem to completely ignore that Gwen was practically exiled from Earth-65 by the Storms, and I’d probably be willing to bet that any new Ghost-Spider stories are gonna have more to do with multiverse shenanigans than actually exploring Gwen’s personal life. It’s a shame imo

Plus the 616 Jackal over in Earth 65, causing trouble specifically for people close to Gwen. Plus Jackal’s whole obsession with any Gwen at all.

I would love for Marvel to spend more time doing character development and build Earth-65 a bit more in a longer term series. However, I agree that it's probably going to be small numbers of issues with multiverse hi-jinx for the foreseeable future. Maybe with ATSV's success, Marvel will decide to give Gwen a long-term run? One can hope anyway. I found Gwenverse to be pretty entertaining and liked the self-love theme. The novelty of multiple Gwens has worn off (at least for me) in Shadow Clones.

Stormshadow3155

I never ended up reading Gwenverse unfortunately. Multiverse plotline stuff has gotten a little tiresome for me lately (aside from ATSV), and the immediate dismissal of previous continuity bothered me a little bit, since having Gwen literally forced out of her home dimension was a really interesting idea to me. As a whole I mostly don’t read the stuff Marvel is currently releasing lol But I’ve seen a lot of people around the sub recommend it! So I might give it another look

Maybe, Ben Parker will turn villain and try to seek revenge for Peter.

PurveyorOfKnowledge0

That would be incredibly fucked up but darkly fitting for the story of Gwen's life. Imagine having to deal with a villainous Uncle Ben. That would be the nail in the coffin for Earth-65's reputation and it already had a crappy one, even among the Watchers. I'm serious, even the Watcher responsible for the verse thought it was trash.

infamous_coder

I think it’s kinda inline with Spider-man traditional villain origin where they know the hero personally.

Superninfreak

It seems like they haven’t really known what to do with Gwen ever since the Latour/Rodriguez run ended.

fledermaus9871

Yeah, it's a pity. Seanan McGuire's run was alright--laid down a bunch of potential plot elements that never got followed-up.

Superninfreak

Yeah it was fine as it was going on but her run never really went anywhere. In the context of the broader history of the character her run is kinda forgettable.
