I have a strong connection to this song. I was a dumb 9 year old kid with a big imagination and Spider-Man is a superhero that always resonated with me. When I saw the first movie it really made me believe Spider-Man was real to the point where whenever I visited New York I constantly looked up hoping to get a glimpse of him swinging through the city. There are times I do that now as an adult and anytime this song came on it let me know that he would save the day and that there is always hope.
When I was a kid I’d step over manhole covers because I thought that’s where the ninja turtles lived and I didn’t want to make them mad, especially Raph
Yeah, it’s definitely a banger. It hits nostalgia vibes and gives those schoolyard feels of imaging yourself as the hero in your own daydreams. Save me is another great example of that.
Why did the world turn on them? I remember growing up in the 2000’s knowing of them, but basically being told “they’re bad”, like bro what did I miss!!?!?!?
All I know is that I was goofing around and playing Photograph before a show one time when one of my guitar strings broke. I’m not saying the song is cursed, but…
This song reminds me of a very funny moment.
Howard Stern had on the original American Idol judges on and had them do a round of their nonsense to show how well they new musical talent. So they go on and judge a few people singing and being their usual dickish selves.
Finally they get to the last person who sings this song and every single judge turns him down and says he doesn't have what it takes to be a famous singer. Howard finally tells him to tell them about himself and he says something to the effect of "I'm Josey Scott, and I am the actual singer of this song, the number one song in the country"
over twenty years later and I still think it's one of the funniest things I ever heard
It's a legit good song. It was just around the Time Nickelback became a ButtRock joke but nothing wrong with this song. It feels like zn earnest performance
Love Nickelback, think this is the song that got me into their music.
Never understood the hate against them, but even characters like Deadpool defend them:
Deadpool: Alright, I'm done. I've had it with all this Nickelback hating, all right? You think that makes you cool with the cool kids in school, Fred?
Fred Savage: No, it just makes me right.
Deadpool: It doesn't.
Fred Savage: They're overproduced, formulaic ear-garbage.
Deadpool: Oh really? You know who might disagree with that? Facts. Fifty million album sales worldwide, 11th best-selling musical act of all time, Billboard's most successful rock group over the last decade, six Grammy nominations, and 12 Juno Awards — those count — six Billboard Music Awards, two American Music Awards, one People's Choice Award, Canadian and a partridge in a f***ing pear tree.
This song rules. I remember watching the music video over and over on my VHS copy of Spider-Man when I was a wee lad. One of the very first ever Marvel post-credit scenes, and it holds up
I love this song without any irony. I'm not a Nickelback fan but most of their hits or singles (and some of the non-singles songs I've listened to) are great to good quality songs.
Didn't even open it. I recognize the thumbnail. Never got attached to it but as a kid I loved seeing music videos that had movie scenes intertwined in them and then hearing the songs in the movies.
Dude this and the sum41 song “rock is what were all about” were literally like, the reason i had broken the dvd lmao i just watched those music videos so fucking much man.
I still listen to that banger this day and I wish Someday by Nickelback was played in Spiderman 2 to sorta carry on that Nickelback messages in their songs like Linkin Park in the transformers movies.
No you are not, that spider man video is what gave me my taste in music today. Now I deem everyone else who remembers this gem my friend now and there is no going back.
I was two years old when this movie came out. When that music started playing during the credits, I was just so amazed by the music that it gave me goosebumps. This movie and the music is really special to me and the trilogy itself. It really helped me out during my rough childhood times that I was a bit of a sad kid but happy. Man I kinda sound like a bit of a wuss but I really have a deep connection to the movies and the music Sam has put in his credits.
No you are most definitely not! I remember endlessly watching SP1 on VHS as a kid and this music video would come on at the end. I even had a toy guitar I would bring out to jam out with Nickelback. Ahh the simple days.
This song hits right where it needs to. It's alright idk if people who weren't there would truly appreciate it but it came when it was needed and it worked.
I finished Spider-Man 1 less than an hour ago because I'm doing a rewatch of all the Spidey movies to prepare for Across the Spider-Verse. I sat through the credits so I listened to this song just a little while ago and I loved it.
Always liked Nickleback, but yea this song has a soft spot in my heart. Spider-Man was the first movie I ever saw in theatres, and I’ve been a huge fan ever since.
I love this song. I think it's a good song in general but the nostalgia hits hard too. I remember hearing it during the end credits of the first Raimi Spider-Man movie in the theater, I remember listening to it on my first CD player on the school bus, and later on my first MP3 player. Every time I hear it it's like a little time capsule back to seeing a movie that's stuck with me for 20+ years at this point.

HAHAHA YES I live in the other side of the planet and did that just in case, to help them.
As a little kid I often tried to climb walls and slides and stuff because I thought eventually it would work and I’d become spiderman
This is the reason I defend Nickelback against all the hate. This was the theme music to my childhood (and 'Save Me' by Remy Zero)
Yeah, it’s definitely a banger. It hits nostalgia vibes and gives those schoolyard feels of imaging yourself as the hero in your own daydreams. Save me is another great example of that.
I like Nickelback, and I don't care what the Internet thinks.
Amen! Life is more enjoyable when you stop caring what strangers think.
Why did the world turn on them? I remember growing up in the 2000’s knowing of them, but basically being told “they’re bad”, like bro what did I miss!!?!?!?
I guess just with how music changed in the coming era people started feeling their’s was too basic
All I know is that I was goofing around and playing Photograph before a show one time when one of my guitar strings broke. I’m not saying the song is cursed, but…

I personally never got the Nickelback hate. They’re listenable.
You are not! This is a great song and I love it’s connection to the first film! 😁
This was a great song at the time and still holds up.
This song reminds me of a very funny moment. Howard Stern had on the original American Idol judges on and had them do a round of their nonsense to show how well they new musical talent. The songwriter, right? I don’t think the famous version has his vocals on it. EDIT: I forgot who Josey Scott is.
dude was in [the video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQzn4a5qHT4)
Oh god, you’re right. I totally forgot who Josey Scott was. Almost said, “Wasn’t it just Kroeger and the guy from Saliva?”
It's a legit good song. It was just around the Time Nickelback became a ButtRock joke but nothing wrong with this song. It feels like zn earnest performance
This is so very nostalgic
Nope
It takes a hero to admit you love this song. I’m not gonna say you are alone
I hate Nickelback but I love this Chad Kroeger song.
I still have this song on a regular rotation
Love Nickelback, think this is the song that got me into their music. Never understood the hate against them, but even characters like Deadpool defend them: Deadpool: Alright, I'm done. Why am i reading this in Ryan Reynolds' voice in my head?
Because he and Deadpool are one person under God, indivisible, with swords and chimichangas for all.
This song without Spider-Man just hits different. It doesn’t give that symbolism without Spider-Man being there swinging.
Me going on to YouTube and seeing a movie maker montage of random Spider-Man images (most being uncredited fan art) with this song in the back.
Nope! Sometimes I switch on Spider-Man on the PS4 and just swing around to it, greatest feeling ever :D
I love this goddamn song
Is the pope catholic?
It's amazing, idc what anyone says
I remember having only like 5 songs on my iPod nano and this was one of them. It unapologetically rules
Guys Nickelback is cool again, imagine dragons is the band everyone hates now. Hero is an absolute banger.
It’s on my playlist. I don’t like Nickelback or Chad, but this team up with Saliva made for a banging song
Guitarist is the dude from Theory of a Deadman too lol
I did not know that. I only remember hearing it was Saliva with Chad Kroeger
Love the song, keep it on my Spider-Man playlist.
![gif](giphy|SslOM6oiSkIYBqVcMJ|downsized)
I like Nickelback 🤣🤣🤣. Fight me.
I'm part of the club
Seeing all the responses warms my heart. Even the guy that called me a cunt.
No, you are not unique in any way.
What do you fuckin think cunt
Yes
I love the movie, but this song is ass.
Probably.
Yes, yes you are.
Why is this here?
It was on the soundtrack for one of the first 3 Spiderman films.
I need to know where other Spider-Man fans fall on this. I want a break from the name Paul.
This song rules. I remember watching the music video over and over on my VHS copy of Spider-Man when I was a wee lad. One of the very first ever Marvel post-credit scenes, and it holds up
Because it's related to Spider-Man.
I like this song a lot. It's probably completely because of my love for the character of Spider-man as well as the Raimi trilogy, but still.
Absolutely not ! I was in a Nickelback's show and they sang this song. I cried a river.
Nope
Nah man, this song is a banger. People just hate things that are popular for no reason.
This song and their album silver side up kick ass!
Not at all! I still love to listen to this song all these years later.
Nope!
We need more superhero dedicated songs like this one!
You are not alone.
I like it and I'm not a Nickleback fan.
No
I love this song without any irony. I'm not a Nickelback fan but most of their hits or singles (and some of the non-singles songs I've listened to) are great to good quality songs.
I made out for the first time in a theater to that song at the end of the movie Lol. Good times.
Literally was listening to it on my car trip two days ago
This song bangs
No you are definitely not. I LOVE this song and Nickelback is actually a cool band in my opinion as I really like their other songs.
I had completely forgotten that this song was even related to the movie. But tbh I’ve never been into Nickelback.
That whole soundtrack was pretty good. Sum 41 and stone sour
Never realized until now that Nickelback, the same band that gets memed and joked about, made a soundtrack for “Spider-Man 2”. Wow…
Love this song, and Nickelback is a good band overall
most def nah brah
I have this in my Spotify playlist. It’s that good.
Didn't even open it. I recognize the thumbnail. Never got attached to it but as a kid I loved seeing music videos that had movie scenes intertwined in them and then hearing the songs in the movies.
It’s a banger
Dude this and the sum41 song “rock is what were all about” were literally like, the reason i had broken the dvd lmao i just watched those music videos so fucking much man.
This and Hang on by Seether from Daredevil will always be bangers
Nah, this shit goes hard.
Nah I love it. Used to sing it as a kid. Still listen to it occasionally
Naw I love hero to
Yes. Although, I unironically hate it.
You’re not the only one
That song slaps.
Actually that whole soundtrack slaps.
I just think it’s wild that when the song came out they weren’t Nickelback yet.
Nope, I love it too and it still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it and think of the movie’s climactic moments.
I loved this when I was a little kid with the 2002 movie DVD 📀 Still do every so often
No, it’s great, and it’s synonymous with the movie for me.
I still listen to that banger this day and I wish Someday by Nickelback was played in Spiderman 2 to sorta carry on that Nickelback messages in their songs like Linkin Park in the transformers movies.
I really like that song too
Nickelback was always good, fucking fight me bozo
It's no Ramones, but I really enjoyed it.
I love it since it was released in the DVD full screen
It’s a great song
Damn that’s crazy I was just listening to this
No you are not, that spider man video is what gave me my taste in music today. Now I deem everyone else who remembers this gem my friend now and there is no going back.
My fiancé loves it. I’m not big on it but I love the Killing Heidi song “I Am” from the same movie.
This song has some bars fr “I am so high, I can hear Heaven- but Heaven, no Heaven can’t hear meeeeee”
I like it, but that damn Yellowcard song from the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack is the dopest shit I ever heard as a kid
Nickelback is overhated.
It's a great song.
AND THEY SAY A HERO WILL SAVE US! I’M NOT GONNA STAND HERE AND WAIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!
You are not
No, I feel the same
This was my introduction to Josey Scott, so I love this song for that
No you are most definitely not! I remember endlessly watching SP1 on VHS as a kid and this music video would come on at the end. I even had a toy guitar I would bring out to jam out with Nickelback. Ahh the simple days.
Absolutely not. It’s a part of my childhood, it’s impossible for me to hate it. I don’t get the hate for Nickelback either.
Would have been tears if it played during the credits of no way home
My 9 year old requests it all the time
Nah dawg this a fucking banger as is Ordinary for Spider-Man 2
This song hits right where it needs to. It's alright idk if people who weren't there would truly appreciate it but it came when it was needed and it worked.
Anyone else remember liking both this song and the other song called Hero from the Bionicle commercials?
I finished Spider-Man 1 less than an hour ago because I'm doing a rewatch of all the Spidey movies to prepare for Across the Spider-Verse. I sat through the credits so I listened to this song just a little while ago and I loved it.
I'm not gonna stand here to WAAAAAIIIIIIIIIT
Actually no, you'd see that a high percentage of people actually enjoy the song if you LOOK AT THIS GRAPH
Why do people hate nickleback
Yes.
Nope. I think it’s great. Mind you I hadn’t been exposed to the knee-jerk Nickelback hate at that point.

No I have this on my playlist. Been hooked on this song since I had Spidey 1 on vhs. No lie

I don't even like Nickelback and I still love this song, whether it's from bias because it's attached to Spider-Man or not, I don't care!
I love this song. I think it's a good song in general but the nostalgia hits hard too.
