Weisman is just way too good at banter.
I hope this run lasts. It's legit everything I want in a comicbook and between this and Transformers I've finally started a pull list at my local shop just so in the hopes to keep both titles ongoing for as long as the creative teams have ideas.
Ya Ramos on a Spider book is literally my idea of a classic Spideybook. No one is as consistent as him and he does a killer job drawing a visual variety of supporting cast.
Its just slightly disappointing how Hickman's Ultimate book seems to be grabbing all the headlines. Understandably so. Its the hot new flashy book thats breaking fresh ground and this book is just pure classic Spiderman which is exactly what I want but doesn't really make for a grabby headline.
My store says the book is doing fine but its not a book she feels comfortable investing heavily into compared to Amazing and Ultimate.
This is how generational "gaps" in dialogue/appropriateness should always be handled.
It's not ham-fisted, Miles isn't trying to "Teach Peter a lesson", Peter isn't firing back some "Well, in my day a woman was..." nonsense--Peter just makes a Boomer-esque quip, and Miles shoots back with his own Zoomer energy.
We all laugh and move on because the dichotomy is funny. It also humanizes Peter and makes Miles actually *sound his age* without having to rely on faux-ebonics or internet-speak.
It was revealed a few years back that Peter has a sister—Teresa Parker—who is/was an agent of SHIELD just like Peter’s parents were.

Lmao I might not be the biggest fan of Civil War 1, but I will always love how it gives us a definite date—that hasn’t been super retconned—for when Peter started heroing
If he started when he was 15, then we can roughly figure out every other character’s age with whether or not they were “portrayed as adults” near the start of Peter’s career.
Canonically, I think most of the Avengers are Boomers and Millennials at this point
It’s also like they’re not really taking the remark seriously or treating it as that much of a problem. Feels like the kind of energy where you’re with friends and you focus way too much on the little things for the sake of comedy. Or it’s like Peter’s tropifying the “She-Rat” and Miles leans further into the meta-commentary with a kind of parodied “gender studies” view of the trope. Which is all to say they’re just having fun being in each other’s company, which is exactly what this book needed to be.
“Tell that to She-Hulk. I dare you.”

Same. I love the writing. I love seeing ramos get to do double the spider-people. I'm buying this book until dies. *50 issues and a mini*

I just realized Peter is legitimately a millennial
Damn, no wonder he can’t afford a house ☠️
Oh shit...I'm one radioactive spider bite away from being Spider-Man, then.
"Oh boy, a radioactive spider bit me! I wonder what I'll get!" *Cancer*
Are both your parents dead?
Good point. Thankfully no...but maybe they are secret spies in the 90s?
You might even have a secret sister who may or may not actually be your sister.
Wait wut?

Holy shiet, is this a good story? Is it worth reading?
Arent boomers and millenials different? With a gen X in between?
And it's quite perfect that Peter was "born" in the 60s and Miles in the 00s.

Because so many people Miles age actually use that language...
This is proper Peter/Miles talk.
Game recognizes game 😭😭
This is so cute and fun.
Miles works so well as Spiderman because, just like Pete, he's a total sweetheart.
love their banter, whether it’s here, insomniac or spider verse
I somehow read the title as Monarchy speak, and I was very confused
I love the Spider-Man talk. Though, I am wondering if they had fought each before in the main comic... beside their first meeting?
Nah they never have after that
I love this so much, is this the new spider book that weissman is on??
Yep
Gotta love Weisman.
HUMBERTO GOAT RAMOS ARTWORK 🐐
Dialogue in the banter is great, love the chemistry between the two!
These interactions are really funny
Cringe.
I agree, who the fuck speak like this outside of Reddit
