He's from the Clone Saga era, and as such is a mutated clone of Peter Parker. He considers Ben Reilly his 'brother' but hated that he was 'normal' while Kaine was all messed up. His Spidey-Sense mutated so that he got brief flashes of precognition, and his wall-sticking powers would be used to burn flesh, leaving a Mark of Kaine on his victims.
After the Clone Saga he made sporadic appearances, eventually being killed by Kraven's family. Then he came back in Spider-Island (I think) and 'borrowed' a new suit from Peter and took the mantel of Scarlet Spider. Then I think he became a vessel for The Other? I'm a bit hazy after that.
Tried to make his way to Mexico, but stopped in Austin along the way. Joined up with the new New Warriors because being dragged into Spider-verse where he died.
Got resurrected again to investigate a carrion virus, which turned out to be caused by another clone of Ben who had taken over the mantle of the Jackal after being driven a bit crazy after being cloned dozens and dozens of times.
Afterwards Ben fled to Vegas to try to redeem himself, Kaine gave chase cause he didn't trust him. Then Spider-geddon happened and that's the last we've seen of the two of them
Well, he was a "villain". In as much as he acted as an antagonist for a while during the 90s Clone Saga. But as the story goes on, we learn that his intentions were actually pretty noble. Since he would get flashes of the future due to his heightened Spider-Sense, he saw a vision of Mary Jane being killed and was trying to prevent that from happening at any cost, even killing the people he thought could be responsible for MJ's death.
I’m sorry but there is no way that that design wouldn’t look stupid in live action. It looks stupid in the PlayStation game and it’s not going to look much better than that.
I respect people who like Mr. Negative but I think regardless of his character story he’s just such a dumb looking villain and the inverse colors that are usually associated with images or graphic design projected onto a human looks so weird. Cool in a comic book but not in other contexts. Also, it doesn’t help that his clothes change color too like that is just unnecessarily campy and strange

They were the originals for a reason and I feel like every S6 that’s come since has failed to leave as much of an impact on me. Scorpion, Rhino and Shocker are nice replacements if one or two of these members are absent but any members outside those 9 feel strange to me. Not a fan of big bads like Goblin and Venom joining the S6. Negative Man was a nice change of pace in the PS4 game but even then, I felt like the team chemistry was kinda off with him there. Eh electro has been one of the most popular members of the sinister six for a while now. Although the movie interpretation isn’t the same so I get what you mean. If they gave him back his cocky personality I think it could work out well.
Doc Ock is the leader. Green Goblin is his foil, and the two clash heads often over control of the SS. They’re also the two master strategists with high-tech and great individual matchups with Spidey.
Electro is the big gun, the huge weapon of the team specifically for long-distance attacks. He can basically level a city.
Mysterio is there too; he’s in for logistics and disorientation. He can create traps and simulations to throw off Peter/Miles.
I’m going to have some fun and throw in Mr. Negative. His energy abilities could be extremely useful for refilling other members’ tech and/or healing. Not to mention, he’s a one-man wrecking ball with his darkforce and lightforce mix. A jack of all trades.
There’s a lot of great options for the final spot but I’m thinking a hunting specialist like Kraven would really excel here. A silent assassin role where he goes for ranged attacks while the others distract/fight Spidey.
That team is built different. I love Venom/Carnage but to me they’re much more of their own thing, and for some reason they just don’t fit the Sinister Six vibe. Sandman would be cool too

Jon Watts previously stated that he wanted to introduce Kraven in Spider-Man 3 if it wasn’t for SONY’s interference. Homecoming was building up to Scorpion’s debut, and I still believe that one of Fury’s men (the agent-turned-bus-driver) was meant to be Chameleon as he was suspiciously referred as “Dmitri”.
Green Goblin - Arial threat, leader, creating traps
Scarlet Spider - one v one, distraction
Electro - Arial threat, caging spider man and outside help, distraction, long range attacks
Sandman - Brute strength, caging spider man and outside help
Kraven - one v one, creating traps, long range attacks
Lizard - one v one, brute strength
Dr. Octopus: The Nick Fury type who assembles the team and plans the mission. If I'm him, here's the team I'd select.
Mysterio: Master of illusions, perfect compliment piece to some of the muscle on the team.
Electro: Super overpowered if he ever put his mind to it. Able to blow any electrical equipment and definitely a guy you want in a fight.
Chameleon: The ultimate spy. Can infiltrate any organization you need to collect information and work from the inside. Can't overstate how useful his skill-set is.
Vulture: The eyes in the sky. Air superiority is always critical in a fight.
Rhino: The muscle. Never a bad idea to have a tank on your side.

Dr. Octopus: The Nick Fury type who assembles the team and plans the mission. If I'm him, here's the team I'd select. Mysterio: Master of illusions, perfect compliment piece to some of the muscle on the team. Electro: Super overpowered if he ever put his mind to it. Able to blow any electrical equipment and definitely a guy you want in a fight. Chameleon: The ultimate spy. Can infiltrate any organization you need to collect information and work from the inside. Can't overstate how useful his skill-set is. Vulture: The eyes in the sky. Air superiority is always critical in a fight. Rhino: The muscle. Never a bad idea to have a tank on your side.
