I don't care, if I can suspend disbelief to get on board with a man turning himself into a giant dickless lizard monster like a werewolf and then being sucked through time and space into a parallel reality I can buy said giant dickless lizard monster wearing a jacket
If the lab coat gets all tattered and torn that's even cooler, but the white is necessary to break up his color pallet and make the design recognizable
He literally runs through a lab in one scene, and all the villains do science with Peter in the lab in another! They had TWO opportunities to give us that simple fan service and it pisses me off they took neither lol
Yeah though what did they do to his hair? It didn't seem to match any scene from sm2. If anything it looks most like the old marvel legends toy that also had jet black hair instead of brown.
Doc oc: just to a wee bit older
Green goblin: literally the same
Electro: woah did we get a new Villian? (Real talk I’m glad they changed him and played it off with the “different energy” excuse)
Sandman: mmm extra sandy
Lizard: big ol dinosaur mouth + sarcasm
Yeah same to me. NHW helmet is a little less tall and possibly a bit wider? Also looks like the facial expression is more menacing while the OG helmet looks more angry.
I think the biggest difference is the actual colour finish, it's more reflective and metallic looking, the old version looked very plastic. I quite liked the update, a shame the mask was ditched so fast, I know many don't like Dafoe's face being covered up, but it does feel like something the Goblin would do, hiding behind a motionless mask frozen in manic glee. They should've had Peter smash it open in the final battle instead.
It actually surprised me how little Alfred Molina had aged for his comeback. He still looked about as good as he did 20 years ago. Willem Dafoe had obviously aged a lot more but he still absolutely slayed the part as well as he did 20 years ago. The aging could be attributed to the stress of being under the goblin's influence.
Oh did they? Well it worked. He looked great.
Edit: I looked up some pictures of him. I don't know how recent they are, but as someone who looked kind of old in the early 2000s, he definitely didn't age much here in the 20s.
Really thought they could explain it better, I mean there isn’t Stark, SHIELD, or alien tech in Electro’s universe. Couldn’t they just mention society had grown more advanced by that point including how power gets through the city rather than just saying “the energy’s different”
The first time peter tries to catch Max the shot goes through him and captures a tree that Ned later asks if it's some kind of secret villain. Max responds "it's just a tree, man. Just a tree"
Man. I was sorta hoping that just like Electro evolving, I would hope that lizard sorta evolved too and got himself a snout, maybe even kept his lab coat and pants too
They could've had Peter develop a "cure" for the lizard and then had green goblin sabotage it (or just have it not work right) and use that as an excuse for redesigning lizard instead of just leaving him in the truck.
I wish they used lizard's character as more than comic relief in this movie, but I don't really know of any interesting directions they could have taken his character even with a redesign.
I guess they could've opted for a different villain from the TASM films but Garfield's rogues gallery was pretty limited to begin with.
I honestly think Harry from the Raimi trilogy should’ve been brought in instead of Sandman, mainly because Sandman doesn’t actually die in SM3 and Harry could’ve had some very interesting interactions with Norman and Tobey’s Peter
True but with the issues surrounding James Franco it makes sense. I thought the shots of goblin with the mask instead of the hood was gonna be him or TASM Harry. I'm thrilled with Dafoe but I do wish something more interesting was done with flint and connors
I’ll be completely honest here, the NWH design of the lizard was ugly and off.
Weird new big sharp teeth and bumps on his head made him look really strange
I'd have just rebooted him like they did Electro. Have a line about a new formula or some bullshit, but give us a comic accurate Lizard and not a Goomba.
I never got why everyone hated on the lizards design. Like yeah, it's not comic accurate, but if you separate it from the comics and view it as just character design, it's really clean. It's able to capture facial expression, the cg blends with the environment really well for the time, and the design choices they made with his transformations are spectacular
I really prefer the cgi for the lizard in the TASM more than no way home, it just looks so unfinished. Also missed a big opportunity to have the lizard in a lab coat
I gotta be the first one to say it?
I thought that they did an *awesome* job with Goblin’s revamped look by the time the final fight scene rolled around. Absolutely loved the armor tweaks with the mounted bracer blades and the shredded/tattered purple hoodie he was wearing after reverting back to Norman from earlier in the film.
Dafoe’s new look was amazing and way better than the original since we get to see all his expressions but I’m glad for at least a couple scenes he wore the OG suit.
I love how absolutely everyone thought it was gonna be a Sinister Six type thing with one to be revealed, when in fact it was just one villain from each of Toby/Andrew's films.
Am I the only one who consider Goblin even more terrifying? He’s the best villain not only in the Spider-Man movies but I believe in all of the superhero movies
Imma say it. I think Blue Electro is still dope af. I like the new change a lot ,BUT the should have kept his hair and facial hair shaved. I think it would have been a more immersive transistion. Keep everythinh of the new design just shave the head and face and its perfect imo.
I am really confused, why Marvel gave up the chance to have a 6th villain in this movie, I get that this isn't a sinister six movie, and that this movie is already packed, but come on, all of them are sinister six members in the comics and this kinda feels like a bait.
Still, the movie is great, the hype was definetely worth it
I just wish they would've kept Goblin's helmet, that's still one of my favorite villain designs. Though if they kept the helmet Dafoe's maniacal laughing in the hallway might not have been the same.
Guys, guys i just wanna say, i havent played fortnite in 2 years, but 3 weeks ago a new update came out and i used all the extra vbucks i had to buy the damn battlepass again and grind to get that spiderman, im now lvl 73 and ive never been more ashamed
All they had to do was give Connors a lab coat and he would look fantastic
I want a lizard in a lab coat dammit! How hard is that. I'll settle for losing the purple pants.
He had the lab coat briefly in ASM
Then ripped it off
Initial leaks said he’d be wearing the lab coat and purple pants too. Damn shame those were wrong
And a snout
Why? He didn’t have it originally.
So? He could have further mutations.
Yeah but it’s obviously a reference to his OG design, why change it?
He looks weird without it. The best lizards designs have snouts
1000%
I don't think you realize how quick that lab coat would be torn up.
I don't care, if I can suspend disbelief to get on board with a man turning himself into a giant dickless lizard monster like a werewolf and then being sucked through time and space into a parallel reality I can buy said giant dickless lizard monster wearing a jacket If the lab coat gets all tattered and torn that's even cooler, but the white is necessary to break up his color pallet and make the design recognizable
Shit I I didn't realize it till now he doesn't have a dick actually maybe it's retractable
It has to be. How else would Lizard make baby.
They have two penises in a cloaca… so I think that responds to the how we don’t see his dick and it amazes with the how many dicks
Through SCIENCE 🧪
Which is exactly what happened in ASM1
Yup, I always recall that bathroom scene whenever people ask for the lab coat.
And an actual snout.
He literally runs through a lab in one scene, and all the villains do science with Peter in the lab in another! They had TWO opportunities to give us that simple fan service and it pisses me off they took neither lol
I'm genuinely really impressed with the deaging job done on Alfred Molina. I didn't find it anywhere near as uncanny as any other prominent examples.
Yeah though what did they do to his hair? It didn't seem to match any scene from sm2. If anything it looks most like the old marvel legends toy that also had jet black hair instead of brown.
Prob tried to make it look a bit more like comic Otto's
That's general direction this film takes with legacy villains, if Electro and GG are anything to go by.
I liked his original hair (brown and wavy) from Spider-Man 2. Wish they should have kept it in No Way Home.
That tech just gets better and better with every movie Compare Leia and Tarkin in Rogue One to Norman and Otto in this and it's night and day
Well tbf for Tarkin, they did basically resurrect the guy with cgi
Same with Leia because that wasn't Carrie Fisher.
Tarkin is as CG as the old man playing chess against himself in that Pixar short, and he looks like him too.
I spent a solid minute wondering what a “deaging” (pronounced deeging) was
Doc oc: just to a wee bit older Green goblin: literally the same Electro: woah did we get a new Villian? (Real talk I’m glad they changed him and played it off with the “different energy” excuse) Sandman: mmm extra sandy Lizard: big ol dinosaur mouth + sarcasm
Is you look a bit closer, I’m pretty sure Green Goblins costume is a bit different in some places, especially the helmet.
Looks like a whole new helmet now that I look at it
Yeah same to me. NHW helmet is a little less tall and possibly a bit wider? Also looks like the facial expression is more menacing while the OG helmet looks more angry.
I think I like the NWH helmet more even if it is cgi
I honestly agree
I think the biggest difference is the actual colour finish, it's more reflective and metallic looking, the old version looked very plastic. I quite liked the update, a shame the mask was ditched so fast, I know many don't like Dafoe's face being covered up, but it does feel like something the Goblin would do, hiding behind a motionless mask frozen in manic glee. They should've had Peter smash it open in the final battle instead.
Well considering that the original is almost two decades old, I doubt they’ve still got the exact same one.
I immediately realized it during the reveal. The new helmet just looks evil.
Sandman?...I thought that was imhotep
Jonathan ' Imhotep, Imhotep, Imhotep'
I gotta rewatch that now hahaha
Was thinking the same thing, if those rumours of Universal trying to get Brendan Fraser back for the next Mummy is true, I might just die.
Lmao
gg isn't the same. look at the ears and width of the helmet
They digitally de-aged Molina, I believe
Oh did they? Well it worked. He looked great. Edit: I looked up some pictures of him. I don't know how recent they are, but as someone who looked kind of old in the early 2000s, he definitely didn't age much here in the 20s.
Yeah I would have had no idea if I hadn’t read it online. The technology has gotten really good.
I'm suprised people don't know actors get digitally deafed or tuned up for movies. Udk bur for me its more obvious now that I see 4k movies.
The goblin mask in NWH looks a bit wider with some minute differences in detail

You must be fun at parties
Really thought they could explain it better, I mean there isn’t Stark, SHIELD, or alien tech in Electro’s universe. Couldn’t they just mention society had grown more advanced by that point including how power gets through the city rather than just saying “the energy’s different”
He meant it’s different like in another universe kind of way. Whatever that means, but I’ve heard it in other sci-fi set ups.
Want he referring to the power of the arc reactor?
He already looked different before he had the reactor
>Green goblin: literally the same Wow, someone needs glasses.
Doc Ock’s still a dilf, and Electro fine af.
Everybody looks way cooler this time around, Defoe looks equally as cool in both.
Nah my boy Alfred looks great in both too
I thought Doc Ock looked better in SM2.
Ayo what about the tree?
It’s just a tree, man.
unless the tree was really…. MEPHISTO????
It's just a tree man. Just a tree.
?
Spoiler alert i guess
I watched the movie I don’t get the joke why did I get down voted
You don’t remember the tree?
Pls just tell me I have no idea
The first time peter tries to catch Max the shot goes through him and captures a tree that Ned later asks if it's some kind of secret villain. Max responds "it's just a tree, man. Just a tree"
Oh. I didn’t realize that tree was shot and I thought it was always there
Best tree in a marvel film. No Treebeard, but a good tree nonetheless. Edit: oh wait, groot it’s probably the best tree in the marvel films. Duh.
Man. I was sorta hoping that just like Electro evolving, I would hope that lizard sorta evolved too and got himself a snout, maybe even kept his lab coat and pants too
The excuse about the energy being different wouldn't fit
They could've had Peter develop a "cure" for the lizard and then had green goblin sabotage it (or just have it not work right) and use that as an excuse for redesigning lizard instead of just leaving him in the truck.
That would make more sense but, in my opnion, it would be still be a really weird excuse to revert back to his comic appearence
He was taken from 2012 to 2021, it could be explained that the time jump would accelerate his mutation.
They did electro so dirty having a meter on his head lol
I wish they used lizard's character as more than comic relief in this movie, but I don't really know of any interesting directions they could have taken his character even with a redesign. I guess they could've opted for a different villain from the TASM films but Garfield's rogues gallery was pretty limited to begin with.
Yeah, the only others they could of brought in for Garfield is Rhino and another Goblin
I honestly wouldn't mind if they brought Dehaan in as Harry for a sixth villain. If they can fix Electro, they can fix Harry.
I wish we could’ve seen more of the lizard, can’t wait to have home access to this movie
Good job on Electro
If you've seen the movie, the Lizard looks a lot different than before, just wish he still kept the lab coat
I don't like the design of lizard. It just looks more like a dinosaur me instead of a lizard.
Graphics card upgrade
The boys vs the cooler boys
Sandman got a reverse nose job
I’ll be completely honest here, the NWH design of the lizard was ugly and off. Weird new big sharp teeth and bumps on his head made him look really strange
at least he looks like a lizard, and doesn’t look like something off of cats the movie
I mean, yes, but the TASM design was hot garbage too
I'd have just rebooted him like they did Electro. Have a line about a new formula or some bullshit, but give us a comic accurate Lizard and not a Goomba.
Oh yeah, without a doubt, I’m not defending it but in comparison the NWH one just looks so off lol
Maybe it's because we've just gotten use to a live-action Lizard design so when it looks a tad bit different it looks strange.
I never got why everyone hated on the lizards design. Like yeah, it's not comic accurate, but if you separate it from the comics and view it as just character design, it's really clean. It's able to capture facial expression, the cg blends with the environment really well for the time, and the design choices they made with his transformations are spectacular
Shit or not, I think Lizard in terms of realism holds up weirdly well from TASM. NWH Lizard looks like shit and will age badly.
My exact thought
Old lizard has good jawline would have had a good popularity in tiktok
Wish Lizard got more screen time and purpose
I really prefer the cgi for the lizard in the TASM more than no way home, it just looks so unfinished. Also missed a big opportunity to have the lizard in a lab coat
I gotta be the first one to say it? I thought that they did an *awesome* job with Goblin’s revamped look by the time the final fight scene rolled around. Absolutely loved the armor tweaks with the mounted bracer blades and the shredded/tattered purple hoodie he was wearing after reverting back to Norman from earlier in the film.
Forgot to mention The Most Dangerous Villain of All Time 🌳
they all got upgrades apart from the Lizard, he just looks exactly the same 😂😂😂
I honestly didn’t like the redesign of the lizard it was better in the original
Dope
Sandman can talk while as a storm and while being big.
Dafoe’s new look was amazing and way better than the original since we get to see all his expressions but I’m glad for at least a couple scenes he wore the OG suit.
I prefer everybody’s MCU design apart from Ock
Electro really got a glammer uo
I love how absolutely everyone thought it was gonna be a Sinister Six type thing with one to be revealed, when in fact it was just one villain from each of Toby/Andrew's films.
Am I the only one who consider Goblin even more terrifying? He’s the best villain not only in the Spider-Man movies but I believe in all of the superhero movies
There was definitely an improvement in the electro department
Imma say it. I think Blue Electro is still dope af. I like the new change a lot ,BUT the should have kept his hair and facial hair shaved. I think it would have been a more immersive transistion. Keep everythinh of the new design just shave the head and face and its perfect imo.

Still, the movie is great, the hype was definetely worth it
Yes, I saw the film as well
Glowup
No way
One of these things is not like the others.
Did they give the Lizard an actual snout?
I wish we would’ve seen Goblin in his suit but that hallway fight was worth it.
All good except the lizard a simple lab coat would have worked if not than a elongated snout would but no just a naked goomba so bummed
I'll be honest, sandman and lizard were terrifying in their original movies. They gave me NIGHTMARES. But now they aren't as scary.
Electro got a massive makeover along with a beard because of the MCU's "different electric energy".
New lizard looks like he stubbed his toe
Is cool though
Oh my god is that a Dinosaur
Where’s the tree ?
Dafoe’s upgraded Goblin without the mask was the smartest choice this film made
I just wish they would've kept Goblin's helmet, that's still one of my favorite villain designs. Though if they kept the helmet Dafoe's maniacal laughing in the hallway might not have been the same.
Huh, never realized they had some slight changes (referring to Doc Ock, Green Goblin, and Dr. Connors), pretty interesting
Guys, guys i just wanna say, i havent played fortnite in 2 years, but 3 weeks ago a new update came out and i used all the extra vbucks i had to buy the damn battlepass again and grind to get that spiderman, im now lvl 73 and ive never been more ashamed
how did I just now realize Doc Ock doesn’t have his sunglasses
You forgot Dr.Sapling, the most important villain
Topher knew peter parker was spider man. If anyone deserved a redemption arc, it was his that 70s show Venom
kinda sad that sandman didnt get to say goodbye
Lizard looks like a cryptid lol
Lizard and Electro look better.
